Cílem mé práce je představit a zhodnotit hlavní instituce EU. Zdůraznit a objasnit hlavní problémy a pokusit se odhadnout možný budoucí vývoj této instituce. Obsahem první kapitoly je historie Evropské unie. Poté se zabývám členskými, kandidátskými a potenciálně kandidátskými zeměmi EU. Ve třetí části popisuji funkci, složení a způsob voleb do Evropského parlamentu a hlasování v rámci Evropské komise. Ve čtvrté kapitole poukazuji na významné body Lisabonské smlouvy a strategie Evropy 2020. V páté kapitole se zaměřuji na dva velké problematické integrační projekty: měna EU a Schengenský prostor. V předposlední kapitole analyzuji dva zásadní problémy Evropské unie: nezaměstnanost a demokratický deficit. Na základě zmíněných kapitol jsem odhadla budoucnost Evropské unie. The goal of my work is to introduce and evaluate the main institutions of the EU. To highlight and clarify the main problems and try to estimate the possible future developement of this institution. The content of the first chapter is the history of European Union. Afterwards I am occupied with member countries, candidate countries and potential candidate countries of the EU. In the third chapter I describe the function, composition and the method of election to the European parliament and voting within the European commission. In the fourth chapter I point out the important points of the Treaty of Lisbon and the Europe 2020 Strategy. In the fifth chapter I focus on the great problematical integration projects: the currency of EU and the Schengen Area. In the prenultimate chapter I analyse the fundamental problems of the European Union: unemployment and democratic deficit. On the base of mentioned chapters I estimated the future of the European Union.
