Mass advertising

The theme of this work is media advertising. Its focus is an analysis and comparison of Czech beer advertisements and Russian beer advertisements. The main objective is to learn whether the Czech and Russian beer advertisement are quite different from each other, or if they use the same linguistic, psychological and visual instruments. The thesis is primarily focused on linguistic research of advertisement, but we consider it necessary to analyze it from different perspectives too, therefore a brief analysis of the psychological aspects of advertising and marketing is also included.

ŠEMBEROVÁ, DARIA. Comparison of the Polish translation of the novel "Konec punku v Helsinkách" with the original Czech version. Praha: Charles University. Faculty of Arts, 2015. The thesis deals with the issue of translatability of colloquial Czech elements and lexical Germanisms into the Polish language using the comparison of the novel Konec punku v Helsinkách by Jaroslav Rudiš and its Polish translation. The theoretical part briefly discusses the literary work of Jaroslav Rudiš, stratification of Czech and Polish national language, colloquial Czech and its use in literature and literary translation, lexical Germanisms in Czech as well as basic issues of translation of literary works. The practical part of the thesis deals with a critical analysis of the Polish translation of the novel by Jaroslav Rudiš regarding the mentioned aspects. SLAČÁLKOVÁ HARASIMOWICZ, MARTA MARIA. Colloquial Czech in Translation (the comparison of the original text and translation of the novel Night Work by Jáchym Topol into Polish). The thesis deals with the issue of translatability of colloquial Czech elements into the Polish language using the comparison of the novel "Night Work" by Jáchym Topol and its Polish translation. The theoretical part involves a summary of the development of the Czech and Polish languages from the perspective of a standard language variety origin and its norm. Moreover, it focuses on the changing stratification of both languages with a special attention to the present stratification. The description of colloquial Czech and its current position as a Czech language variety is also included. Furthermore the thesis deals with the issue of equivalence, adequacy and translatability from the theoretical and practical point of view. The analysis of the original and translated novel extracts follows. This part concentrates on the possibilities of substituting Czech colloquial words in the Polish text. Haruki Murakami in the Czech Translation - Problems of Translation from a Distant Language (Haruki Murakami: The End of the Word & Hard-boiled Wonderland, Translated by Tomas Jurkovič)

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the literary work The End Of The World and Hard-boiled Wonderland by Japanese author Haruki Murakami in Japanese original version with the Czech translation elaborated by translator Tomáš Jurkovič. The aim of this thesis is to ascertain whether the Czech version conforms with the Japanese original and to deduce the author's working methods. The first chapter introduces the basic high-quality translation theses, describes the Japanese lingual pitfalls and difficulties along the translations from the remote languages. Chapter two defines life and work of Murakami and his literary style within the international, Japanese and individual contexts. The nucleus of the thesis is contained in the third chapter, which focuses on the semantic level, i.e. on the lexical and phraseology instruments analysis in connection with the Japanese and Czech translation confrontation, e.g. neologisms, americanisms, synonyms, variations of repeated Japanese verbs in Czech, emotives, onomatopoeics, idioms, etc. The thesis deals also with the syntax level translation analysis, present time utilization in one part of the novel, the the official - familiar interpersonal communication code translation to Czech, as well as with the author's addressing the reader in spite of inviting him...

Influence of Serbian on the language of Czech Minority in Serbia

The purporse of this work is to establish and describe today's usage of Czech language on the territory of Serbian Banat. The Czech Minority to this region came in the beginnig of the 19th century when this devastated territory became part of Austria-Hungary's monarchy. The lack of protection of the new established border between monarchy and Ottoman Empire as well and the lack of population were the reasons for Monarchy to send some people to this region. The data that were used for analyzing Czech language were collected by query and recordings provided by members of Czech minority of South Banat region in Serbia. The work is trying to establish the level of assimilation of Czech language with Serbian language with which one the Czech minority has daily connection. (in English) This bachelorʼs thesis deals with the issue of translatability of colloquial Czech into the Russian language based on the comparison of dialogues of the novel "The Good Soldier Svejk and His Fortunes in the World War" by Jaroslav Hašek and its Russian translation. The theoretical part is devoted to the stratification of the Czech and Russian languages. Moreover, it focuses on the thesis deals with the issue of equivalence, adequacy and translatability from the theoretical and practical point of view. The characteristic of colloquial Czech and its current position in the language system is also included. Development of writing skills by using a method of blended-learning

Writing skills are an important element of mastering a foreign language. In this thesis various methods used to develop writing skills in a foreign language are described - from traditional to alternative, such as creative writing technics. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of the blended learning method in the development of writing skills in foreign/second language.
