Thin Sol-Gel TiO2 Films Prepared by Inkjet Printing – Photoelectrochemical Properties
Morozová, Magdalena ; Klusoň, Petr ; Dzik, P. ; Veselý, M. ; Krýsa, J. ; Šolcová, Olga
This study reports the structural and electrochemical properties of the deposited TiO2 layers prepared by means of the templated sol-gel method by the inkjet printing. The layer morphology and material properties were in detail investigated by optical microscopy, SEM, AFM as well as Raman spectroscopy and XRD analysis. The photo-excitation properties of the TiO2 layers and the ability of their photocurrent generation were studied by electrochemical methods.

Colloidal Silica as an Efficient Binder for the Preparation of Al-SBA-15 Pellets
Topka, Pavel ; Karban, Jindřich ; Soukup, Karel ; Jirátová, Květa ; Šolcová, Olga
The objective of this contribution was to examine the possibility of using colloidal silica as a binder for the preparation of extrudates or pellets from mesoporous molecular sieves. Al- SBA-15 pellets with different content of colloidal silica were prepared and their textural properties and mechanical stability were investigated. The catalytic activity of the pellets in Friedel-Crafts alkylation of toluene with benzyl alcohol was directly compared to that of binder-free pellets and powder catalyst.
The Effect of the Various Electrolyte Types on the Generation of Photocurrent
Morozová, Magdalena ; Klusoň, Petr ; Krýsa, Josef ; Šolcová, Olga
This work was focused on the utilization of photocatalysis in electrochemical experiments. The generation of photocurrent was measured during the photoelectrocatalytical degradation of substrates in electrolytes on the surface of the thin TiO2/ITO working electrode. The relationship between values of photocurrent and structures of amino acids, mono- and dicarboxyl acids was investigated.
Modified Titania Nanolayers for Photodegradation Applications
Krejčíková, Simona ; Šolcová, Olga ; Maléterová, Ywetta ; Cajthaml, Tomáš
This study is focused on preparation and characterisation of the specially designed photoactive materials and their modified versions suitable for photo-processes carried out upon illumination in the visible and UV regions of the light spectrum. Decomposition of a resistant contaminant 4 - chlorophenol was chosen as the representative reaction for our study.
Photoelectrochemical Oxidation of Carboxylic Acids on the Sol-Gel Thin TiO2 Layer Electrode
Morozová, Magdalena ; Klusoň, Petr ; Krýsa, Josef ; Šolcová, Olga
Heterogeneous photocatalysis is based on the reaction between the light excitated semiconductor and oxidizable compound adsorbed on the catalytic surface. This work reports the photoelectrocatalytic oxidation characteristics of carboxylic acids on the TiO2 sol-gel thin-film electrode by using electrochemical techniques. The influence of the thickness of the films on photoactivity and the various concentrations of oxalic, formic and acetic acid in the supporting electrolyte were investigated. The effect of the used mono- and dicarboxylic acids on the electrode behaviour for possible application as sensors has been also studied. The surface characteristics of TiO2 films were determined by XRD, SEM and AFM analyses and the photoexcitation properties of nanoparticulate layer electrode were determined by cyclic and linear voltammetry, amperometry and open circuit potential (OCP).
