Determination of carbohydrates in vegetables by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry
Štikarovská, Markéta ; Chmelík, Josef
MALDI-TOF MS was used for characterization of oligosaccharides in samples of Jerusalem artichoke and red onion. Seven selected matrices were tested. The optimization of experimental conditions was carried out for three carbohydrates that are important for food chemistry ů dextran, inulin and starch (low glucose syrup).
Study of selenium distribution in graphite tube after in situ collection 75SeH2 by "Image plate" autoradiography
Korunová, Vlasta ; Selecká, Anna
The aim of the work was the determination of surface area of the trapped analyte inside the graphite tube, by "Image plate" autoradiography method with use of selenium-75 isotope as radioindicator.
Trace analysis of iodide in biological and environmental samples by on-line combination of cITP-CZE
Urbánek, Marek ; Pantůčková, Pavla ; Křivánková, Ludmila
Development and application of the method of on-line combination of capillary isotachophoresis with capillary zone electrophoresis (cITP-CZE) for the determination of iodide in urine, seawater and in selected mineral waters.
Application of diffusion denuder for elimination of sampling artefacts of carbonaceous aerosols
Mikuška, Pavel ; Večeřa, Zbyněk ; Broškovičová, Anna ; Maenhaut, W. ; Chi, X.
An annular diffusion denuder was developed, enabling elimination of positive sampling artefacts and inteference of oxidants during sampling of organic aerosols on a quartz filter, placed in series behind the denuder at sampling flow-rate 16,6 l/min.
Preparation and optimization of packing of microcolumns for HPLC and SFC
Planeta, Josef
The lecture summarizes the study of the influence of packing conditions on the efficiency and the total porosity of the prepared columns. For both critical and supercritical CO2, optimum packing conditions were found.and their reproducibility was defined.
Importance of capillary electrophoresis in Human Genome Project
Klepárník, Karel
The fundamental contribution of capillary electrophoresis to the HumanGenome Project can be demonstrated on the massive application of multicapillary fully automated instruments for DNA sequencing. Sequencing is the most successful application of capillary electrophoresis from commercial point of view. Also in the filed of the research of genome DNA polymorphism plays capillary electrophoresis an important role.
Sampling of persistent organic compounds using SPMDs: Advantages and disadvantages
Čáslavský, Josef ; Kotlaříková, Pavla ; Benešová, Karolína ; Doškářová, Š. ; Hamrusová, M.
Passive sampling methods gain more and more popularity for the sampling of persistent organic pollutants in the environment, including air. These passive samplers are substantially cheaper than standard active sampling methods, their deployment is simpler, they don't need electricity, thus they can be deployed even in very distant regions. They offer an itegrative response, therefore these samplers are especially suitable for monitoriong purposes. For quantitative evaluation it is necessary to establish the values of sampling rates for individual compounds. In the presented study these values for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were evaluated from the comparison of the results of passive sampling using SPMDs and standard active sampling method.
Dynamic modification of microorganisms by pyrene-butanoate for fluorometric detection in capillary electrokinetic techniques
Horká, Marie ; Růžička, F. ; Šlais, Karel
Pyrenebutanoate and non-ionogenic tenside on the basis of pyrenebutanoate as the fluorescent compounds were used as buffer additives in capillary zone electrophoresis or capillary isoelectric focusing, respectively, for a dynamic modification of the microbial samples. Using the deuterium lamp UV excitation for the on column fluorometric detection, the minimum detectable amount of the microorganisms in order of ones to tens of cells sampled on the separation capillary was achieved.
New developments in hydride atomizers for atomic absorption and atomic fluorescence spectrometry
Dědina, Jiří ; Korunová, Vlasta ; D'Ulivo, A.
The most recent developments of multiatomizers and FIFS were described and performance of the atomizers namely in terms of resistance to atomization interferences and of minimization of the limit detection for AAS and AFS was discussed.
Evaluation of distribution of toxicologically important elements in urban dust from two Prague tunnels subway and road by sequential leaching and methods ICP-AES and GF AAS
Sysalová, Jiřina ; Száková, J. ; Drábek, M.
The three-stage sequential extraction procedure for speciation of potentially toxic trace elements As, Cd, Cr, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn has been applied to establish their distribution in urban dust from two Prague tunnels road Letná with automobile traffic and subway, station Muzeum. Analytes were determined by ICP-AES and GF AAS method.
