Biometric fingerprint liveness detection
Rišian, Lukáš ; Vítek, Martin
This work addresses the problem of biometric recognition of fingerprint liveness to identify and differentiate between real fingerprints and their artificial replicas. The main objective was to identify the features that are crucial for fingerprint liveness recognition and based on these features to propose an efficient classification algorithm. We worked with the LivDet database from 2009, which contains both real and fake fingerprints. This database has been used in a worldwide competition and the results of all implemented algorithms are publicly available for subsequent comparison of success rates. An important part of this work was the preprocessing of the image data, which was crucial for testing the selected features and implementing the algorithms. We analyzed more than 180 different features from which we selected the most relevant ones. We then used the selected features to develop several fingerprint recognition and classification algorithms. Using the selected features, several possible variations of the algorithms have been proposed. Among all the implemented algorithms, we achieved the best result of almost 90%. Compared to other algorithms that have been implemented for the same purpose and have been used and tested on the same database, this can be considered a satisfactory and reliable result. In conclusion, the main objective of this work was to provide an efficient, secure, and reliable solution in the field of biometric fingerprint spoof detection.
Design of 90 degree phase shift hybrid coupler
Ondrejka, Adam ; Kříž, Tomáš
This paper describes the design procedure for quadrature hybrid for UHF band. Circuits are based on distributed parameters with anticipated manufacturing on a PCB. Emphasis is put on a compact size, three methods are used for size reduction of transmission lines. All designs are simulated in electromagnetic simulation software. The best design using meandered lines is verified by measurement with no detectable deviation from target working frequency. Temperature simulation is conducted with the best design.

Marketing plan for Špejchar Ražice
Kajtman, Vojtěch ; Moravcová, Hana (advisor) ; Vranka, Marek (referee)
In this work I am dedicating myself to creating a complex and practically aplicable marketing plan for coworking center Špejchar Ražice, which is in its early stadium. In the first - theoretical part of the work I put focus on defining coworking as a concept, it's worldwide history (from the roots of the concept in the 1990's, till present day) and an impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on coworking spaces. I am also putting emphasis on the history of coworking in the Czech republic. A part of the theoretical part of this work is theoretical definement of a marketing plan, its components and the current trends that are having impact on its gradual change as well. Also, a part a the first part of my work is theoretical definement of a target group of coworking spaces. In the second - practical part of my work I am creating a marketing plan for the needs of Špejchar Ražice. I am based on the theoretical knowledge but also on the SWOT analysis and a quantitative research of a target group. The result of this work is applicable marketing plan for the needs of Špejchar Ražice, which includes communication channels and content relevant to the target group and a time harmonogram of the communication activities.
Edible insect in nutrition
Lampová, Barbora ; Chrpová, Diana (advisor) ; Pánek, Jan (referee)
The world's human population is rapidly growing and is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050, leading to increased demand for food. One of the major global challenges is the lack of high- quality proteins. The consumption of edible insects, known as entomophagy, is a promising solution to this problem, providing a new source of proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals. This alternative may be more environmentally friendly than traditional food production methods, contributing to meeting the growing needs of the population. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to assess the attitudes and approach of Czech consumers towards edible insects, as well as to determine the availability of edible insect products in the Czech market. Within this research, it was found that a significant part of respondents had prior experience with consuming edible insects. Almost 90% of respondents in this evaluation had tried edible insects, with the majority willing to repeat insect consumption. Consumers generally preferred hidden forms of edible insects, followed by culinarily prepared visible forms of insects. An important finding was that none of the surveyed respondents had encountered edible insect products in brick-and-mortar stores, a fact confirmed by market research indicating the absence of these products in...

Dubová, Kateřina ; Horák, Slavomír (advisor) ; Brisku, Adrian (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the clash of old and new traditions of Islam in post-Soviet space, using the example of the Pankisi Gorge. This phenomenon occurred there in the 1990s. The new traditions had significant impacts on Muslim societies in the post-Soviet space and the Islam that these societies traditionally practised. These impacts include, for example, the cultural, social and security aspect. The aim of this thesis is to analyse these consequences using the example of the Georgian Pankisi Gorge, where traditional Sufism and the newly introduced Salafism have clashed. The primary method used in the thesis is the case study method. The thesis generalizes the findings about the Pankisi Gorge to the whole post-Soviet space. The text also uses the method of analysis of secondary sources and primary sources in the form of interviews with Pankisi residents. These interviews were conducted by the author in March 2024. The result of this analysis is that the new traditions of Islam cause mainly cultural transformation of Muslim societies, to a lesser extent they are the cause of social changes in societies and to a lesser extent they are a security threat. In the security sphere, the new traditions of Islam are a threat if they are practised in their radical form.
Nudity in Czech art in 1990s with overolap to the 21st century
Yordanova, Viktoriya ; Pech, Milan (advisor) ; Bendová, Eva (referee)
Anotation The diploma thesis attempts to introduce the subject of the naked body in the 1990's Czech art, thus in the era of the postrevolutionary freedom. In the rapidly transforming society, after the fall of the communism and the disolution of the Eastern Bloc, the body became a crucial tool for artists expression. Local art reflected Western initiatives not only in the art field, but also, in the wider visual culture (porn magazines, erotical TV shows, advertisment etc.). It attempts to represent the authors and their work in which the artists reacted to these initiatives.
Quality of life of people with eating disorders
Mandíková, Jana ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Malá, Michaela (referee)
Title: Quality of life of people with eating disorders Objectives: The main aim of the thesis is to use the EDQOL (Eating Disorders Quality of Life) questionnaire to determine the quality of life of women with eating disorders (ED) compared to the general population and in which areas of life eating disorders cause the greatest difficulties for women. Methods: The theoretical and empirical work examined the quality of life of women with eating disorders (n =100) and women from the general population using the EDQOL questionnaire. The sample of respondents was obtained by the method of available sampling by reaching out to selected groups on social networks. The czech version of the EDQOL questionnaire was distributed using the Survio platform. Results: The results of the EDQOL questionnaire revealed a statistically significant difference in quality of life between women with ED and women from the general population (p < 0,001, d = 2,404). Women with ED scored the average on the overall questionnaire variables (1,87 ∓ 0,49), while women from the general population scored the average (0,68 ∓ 0,50). Within the group of women with ED, the psychological domain (2,91 ∓ 0,48) and the physical and cognitive domain (2,24 ∓ 0,81) were identified as significant. Conversely, the work and school related domain...
Implementation of thermal convection model in ASPECT
Štencová, Ivana ; Čížková, Hana (advisor) ; Čadek, Ondřej (referee)
The outermost layer of the Earth, the lithosphere, is broken into several pieces called lithospheric plates. These plates move relative to each other at a rate of several centimeters per year. In regions where two tectonic plates meet, one plate may be forced beneath the other, a process known as subduction. One of the most important tools enabling us to study this phenomenon is nu- merical modeling of thermal convection. Dozens of different programs are used within the international geodynamic community to solve the system of equa- tions describing the flow. Among them, a software package called ASPECT has been gaining prominence recently. ASPECT utilizes the finite element method to solve the governing equations and is particularly distinguished by its imple- mented adaptive mesh refinement. This feature is highly practical when study- ing subduction of lithospheric plates, as it allows for precise resolution of the narrow deformation zone at the plate boundaries. In the course of our work, we compared this program with the alternative software package SEPRAN, which has been used at the Department of Geophysics since the late 1990s. A sub- duction model with a mobile overriding plate was created in ASPECT, and its results were compared with an equivalent model implemented in SEPRAN. The fundamental...
