Hidden cultural values of the protected areas
Fišer, J. ; Novák, David ; Šmejda, L.
The cultural character of the landscape stems not only from its current economic structure but also from the anthropogenic past reflected in numerous relics, which show that people in the past also used the part of the landscape that is now protected for its natural values. However, the intensity of these activities was linked to general settlement strategies with a strong respect to the geomorphological characteristics of the landscape. Large-scale protected natural areas are characterised by exceptional landscape features or significant natural values. Even in these parts of the landscape, past human influence was significant and left its traces. The intensity and specifics of this influence are presented in the paper on the basis of archaeological data. The archaeological data were processed into a grid whose values are related to the number of archaeological periods present in the given area. The protected landscape was used by people rather sporadically and the increase in activity can only be associated with the mediaeval and modern periods. Areas of the unprotected landscape were more intensively used in the past. However, the explanation for the difference is not based on social preferences but on the geomorphological structure of the protected landscape and its associated settlement history.

Cognitive and behavioral alterations in neurodevelopmental and pharmacological animal models of schizophrenia
Malenínská, Kristýna ; Stuchlík, Aleš (advisor) ; Blahna, Karel (referee) ; Telenský, Petr (referee)
Establishing reliable animal models of psychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia is essential to better understand the neurobiological, behavioural and genetic basis of the disorder and to develop new drugs with greater therapeutic efficacy. These models allow the study of different aspects of schizophrenia, including positive, negative and cognitive symptoms similar to schizophrenia. All available animal models of schizophrenia can be divided into four different categories of induction: developmental, pharmacological, genetic and lesion-induced. However, none of these models perfectly replicates all aspects of schizophrenia in humans, and it is therefore necessary to precisely define the influence of each manipulation. This thesis focuses on the study of pharmacological and developmental animal models of schizophrenia, with an emphasis on examining the cognitive and behavioral changes associated with the disorder. Specifically, we investigated the pharmacological induction of schizophrenia- like symptoms by acute administration of MK-801, developmental models of two interventions combining the maternal immune response following poly(I:C) administration and subsequent stress of offspring in adolescence, and repeated prenatal and neonatal administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). In the...
Tailed amphibians (Caudata) in zoos - breeding, rearing, trend analysis
FIALA, Antonín
Amphibians are currently one of the most endangered vertebrate groups. In addition to the well-known factors such as habitat loss, illegal trade or global warming, a rela tively new specific factor is threatening salamanders (Caudata). In recent years, the fungal disease BSAL (Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans) has started to spread not only in Western Europe. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the breeding of tailed amphibians in zoos and private breeding, to explore its history and present. The sources are the international database ZIMS, yearbooks of Czech and Slovak zoologi cal gardens and questionnaires distributed among breeders through social networks and in cooperation with AG Urodela. As of the first half of 2023, 801 species of tailed amphibians have been described. Zoos keep 127 species, i.e. 15.9%. According to the findings of my survey, 93 species, i.e. 11.6%, are kept in private breeding.
Purchase of Real Estate Concern
BLAŽKOVÁ, Terezie
This work is dealt with a purchase of real estate concern. It is focused on the contracts which are concerned this problematic. This work explored why the cadastre of real estate is important, which laws the transfer of real estate are tied to and how the commitments are ensured or confirmed. A significant part of the work are taxes such as tax on real estate or value added tax which are connected to the purchase. To gain the data the questionnaires are used. The employees of the real estate agencies answered which strategy their agency are had or how many the real estates are sold during the year. The other questionnaires are filled by people who are either owners of the real estate or those who have experience with real estate agencies.
A Peace of GDR Literary History: Jurek Becker between "Jakob the Liar" and "Bronstein's Children"
KUBOVÁ, Andrea
The topic of this diploma thesis is the literature of the GDR from the 50s to the 70s, whose character is formed by the remnants of the Holocaust and the dominance of socialism. After the Second World War, a considerable amount of works with a Jewish theme as well as works dealing with everyday problems in the socialist milieu appears. The East German writer of Jewish origin Jurek Becker is an example of the author who has experience with both the persecution of Jews and the socialist regime, and therefore incorporates them into the main themes of his literary works. The aim of the thesis is to find out how was contemporary literature influenced by these facts, not only by examining the political and cultural context, but especially through the mentioned author and his four novels.
The motor and cognitive consequences of inborn cerebellar degeneration and some possibilities how to influence it
Křížková, Alena ; Vožeh, František (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mareš, Jan (referee)
The motor and cognitive consequences of inborn cerebellar degeneration and some possibilities how to influence it The cerebellum is traditionally considered to be a coordinator of movements and equilibrium and a regulator of muscular tone. Participation of the cerebellum on the motor learning has been discovered later. Besides that, there is increasing experimental and clinical evidence supporting the idea of an important role of the cerebellum in common cognitive functions. Increasing number of experimental works - especially those on animals - demonstrate an effect of the the cerebellum on the memory and different types of learning. A suitable model to study the cerebellar degeneration are Lurcher mutant mice. During their lives, there is a progressive loss of Purkinje cells followed by a loss of granular cells and inferior oliva neurons. We concentrated on the following problems in this work: - development of motor learning and topical motor skills during the first month of life - positive and negative changes in NO synthesis and subsequent effect on discriminative learning - effect of administration of MK-801(non-competitive antagonist of NMDA receptors) on discriminative learning of Lurcher mutants and wild mice derived from two strains (C3H and C57B1/7). Lurcher mutants and wild mice were put in motor...
