The last part of the basic issues is dedicated to the migration, followed by the evaluation of the development of migration in the Czech Republic and partly international migration of seniors. The main part is focused on the issue of migration behavior. The analysis of a large set of data migration is performed at the regional, district level and also between size groups of municipalities. The aim was to evaluate regions, or municipalities size groups in terms of their attractiveness for seniors. For people over 60 years were most attractive small and middle cities. The Influence of Suburbanization on the Demographic and Social Structure and Social Climate in Suburbs of Mladá Boleslav
Hrušková, Nela ; Špačková, Petra (advisor) ; Kopečná, Martina (referee)
The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the social structure of the population and social climate in suburbs Mlada Boleslav. In relation to immigration around the city there are changes of population size and population structure of municipalities, which is related to an increase in the differences among local residents. This is due to differentiation in terms of social status, traditions, behaviour and age. In this work are evaluated primarily the impacts of these differences on the relationship between the local population and people who moved recently. The paper is trying to figure out the level of involvement of newcomers in the running community and define problems and types of cooperation among these groups. I assume that it will be some variations between municipalities, but generally it will have similar problems and positives which were found in studies in suburbs of Prague. I also discuss whether, or how, is the process influenced by Škoda Auto, which is located in Mlada Boleslav. Keywords: suburbanization, social structure, social climate
Influence of the suburbanization process on demographic development and capacities of education facilities in Pragueʼs hinterland
Benáčková, Kristýna ; Špačková, Petra (advisor) ; Ouředníček, Martin (referee)
The objective of the thesis is to study impacts of suburbanization on demographic development of the hinterland of Prague and on capacities of education facilities in selected municipalities. The paper assesses the approaches taken by representatives of these municipalities to set conditions for provision of school and preschool education to their citizens. The demand for civil amenities gradually increases as a result of population growth and specific age structure changes. Many suburban municipalities thus often face the same problem: low capacities of kindergartens and elementary schools caused by a growing population of children. Most research focused on the approaches of seven case study municipalities from the southeastern hinterland of Prague to the solution of the capacity issues. A policy of respective municipalities differs based on the fact whether or not it runs its own school. However, the lack of capacities of education facilities does not generally force the municipalities to regulate a further housing construction and the expansion of the community.
Social Environment and Local Communities: City - Suburb - Countryside
Špačková, Petra
As a result of major social changes associated with transformation of the geographical organization of society in the 19th century, a broad debate was initiated about the importance and nature of social bonds in society and their embeddedness in urban and rural areas. The processes of modernization, industrialization and urbanization have fundamentally impacted the spatial organization and the actual contents of social ties. In particular, the role of place of residence in everyday life has significantly changed. Compared to the past, the spatial distance is less relevant for maintenance of interpersonal ties and non-local social relations are of growing importance. This process has been recently enhanced by development of communication technologies and the Internet in particular. The Internet has transferred many social ties into virtual communities without any spatial reference. The dissertation deals with the consequences of the above indicated changes for the social environments in urban, suburban and rural localities and it is built on the geographic perspective of social network research. The theoretical framework of the research is based on combination of the concepts of social environment and the concept of local community. Further, the conceptualization of the study of local social...

Tobrman, Michal ; Špačková, Petra (advisor) ; Spilková, Jana (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is to describe and analyze the nature of relationships of the originally local community and see what impact online social networks have on these relationships. The local community in this study is represented by one class of selected pupils from the primary school Na Smetance in Prague 2. For the main analysis were used mainly qualitative research methods: survey questionnaires and structured interviews with members of the screened community. The results showed that the transformation can be seen not only in the fragmentation of the local community into smaller groups of individuals with strong ties, but also in the influence of online social network Facebook, where relationships among members of the originally local community are maintenained. The analysis of strength relations between former classmates suggests that social network created by Facebook is essentially generated by weak ties, which are however indispensable for the creation of social capital. This thesis has contributed to the further understanding of the recent local community development. Keywords: local community, online social networks, Facebook, locality of Prague 2, social capital
