The current state of mining and uranium reserves
Vondra, Marek ; Nerud, Pavel (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is engaged in current state of uranium mining. It describes development of uranium mining on the area of the Czech Republic from the beginning to current state of mining. There are summarized current uranium reserves in the world, with the most important mining areas included. The treatment of uranium ore is described, with its influence on the environment and the remediation of affected mining area. In the last section, the possible ways of uranium usage in the future are mentioned.
Surface condenser
Kloda, Michal ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis dealing with surface condensers is split into three main sections. The first section describes surface condenser, problems of heat transfer during condensation and a method of determining the heat transfer coefficient using the methods HEI and VTI-CKTI. The second section deals with the main construction elements and their materials, where the special attantion is paid to condenser tubes materials. In the third and the last section, the simplified thermodynamic design of surface condenser for given parameters is shown.
Balancing Rotors of Steam Turbines
Filip, Patrik ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is a technical research dealing with issues of balancing turbine rotors and generally describing international standarts commonly used for balancing rotors. The first part is about unbalance in general context. The next part classifies types of rotors, standarts for balancing rotors and balancing methods. Then there is a description of a balancing device. The last part of this thesis includes a step by step process of balancing a specific rotor.
Mathematical model of test facility for study critical heat flux
Bartůněk, David ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Suk, Ladislav (advisor)
In the first part, the bachelor thesis is focused on the description of test facility used for studying critical heat flux and for visualizing two-phase flow in the vertical canal. In the next part, there are the basic mathematical methods that are used for solving transient behavior of real devices. The last practical part of the thesis deals with applying of preceding methods to the preheater as part of the experimental loop and creating mathematical model of this device.
Methods 3D laser scanning workpieces in process plan
Šnajdárek, Ladislav ; Bradáč, František (referee) ; Opl, Miroslav (advisor)
This work is aimed at problem of 3D laser scanning workpieces as one of possibility post - procedural verification. After the presentation of philosophy for obtaining 3D shape of body follows diagnosis of the chief components these scanners. After it follows a himself division of scanners and diagnosis single types.
Materials for IV. generation power plants
Hovorka, Martin ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe material needs of chosen Generation IV nuclear reactors – VHTR, SCWR, and MSR with the emphasis on the VHTR. It describes the main principle and a constructional arrangement of VHTR components with its material demands. SCWR and MSR reactors are described in terms of its material requirements. The middle part of this thesis is dedicated to the available material candidate analysis. Main material properties are discussed and at the end of this part the suitability of chosen materials for a flange joint in VHTR heat exchanger is assessed. The last chapter (the practical part) is focused on an experimental proposal of changeability of older materials by the new ones using the electron beam welding method.
Emissions of medium pressure steam boilers for gaseous fuel
Zavadil, Jan ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this the Bachelor Thesis is a description of a medium steam boiler for gas fuels, fuel's emissions created during the burning process of natural gas and following evaluation of measured pollutants in 5 years of operation. First part of the thesis describes types of steam boilers and most important parts of it. Following a brief comparison of burners for gas and liquid fuels and pollutants created during the burning process of natural gas and their impact on the environment. The last part focuses on measurements of pollutants in real device and a review of produced pollutants created during the long-term operation.
Conversion of a combustion turbine burning natural gas to a combustion turbine burning hydrogen
Lněničková, Veronika ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with issues related to the combustion of hydrogen in gas turbines. In the introductory part, the technology of the gas turbine and its alternative fuels, which appear to be a suitable substitute for natural gas, are presented. The subsequent part of the thesis deals exclusively with hydrogen, its combustion in gas turbines and a description of the current state of production of turbines capable of burning hydrogen. The theoretical description was supplemented by the calculation of a gas turbine burning different volumes of hydrogen in the fuel. The result of the work is a summary description of the issue and an assessment of the influence of hydrogen on the parameters of the gas turbine.
Hydrogen filling station
Kaše, Jakub ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
Presented master’s thesis deals with hydrogen filling stations, their concepts, design, and operation. The importance of hydrogen as an energy carrier, its properties, and the implications of these properties for the selection of materials suitable for hydrogen applications are described. In order to understand the decisions made in the design of the station, the hydrogen life cycle from production through transportation and storage to use is presented. This is followed by an evaluation of the cycle in terms of economics and environmental impact. The review part of the paper concludes with an introduction to fuel cell vehicles, which includes an overview of the selected passenger and commercial vehicles, and a description of hydrogen filling stations. The filling stations are discussed in terms of concepts and components, and an overview and analysis of selected implementations is also included. The computational part of the thesis focuses on the design and technoeconomic analysis of a hydrogen filling station with a daily capacity of approximately 50 kg/day and an hourly capacity of 6 vehicles/hour for the needs of the logistics company Zásilkovna s.r.o. A station variant with hydrogen gas delivery in pressure vessels was chosen. Three possible designs of the station were compared. The hydrogen filling station can be designed for the specified parameters without any problems. However, the analysis of the results showed a very strong dependence of the acquisition and operating costs on the nominal compressor power. Therefore, the design of the hydrogen filling station requires further optimization, which limits the direct applicability of the presented results.
