Temperature field in solid fuel
Ptáček, Pavel ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with a temperature field in a solid fuel during the combustion process. At the beginning of this thesis, research of available literature was conducted to obtain information about the composition of wood, properties affecting the combustion process, and the basics of heat transfer. Afterward, the temperature profiles of the samples were recorded during the measurement in the observation furnace. The temperature profiles of samples of six different sizes which were made of spruce and beech wood were subsequently evaluated and compared. Based on experimentally obtained data, a mathematical model was created in the OpenModellica software. Finally, the results of the mathematical model were compared with experimentally obtained data and appropriate conclusions were deduced.
Current state of the construction of MSR reactors
Kotrnetzová, Daniela ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
This thesis describes Generation IV reactors with a detailed view on the molten salt reactors. There are described all types of these reactors individually and their current research. There is analyse of AHTR reactor and his possible configuration. At the end of this bachelor thesis is a processing of a heat loss from a pipe.
Heat Transfer in Small-Scale Channels with Rotating Wall
Šnajdárek, Ladislav ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kořista, Milan (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with the determination of the heat transfer coefficient in small channels with a rotating wall. The research part of the thesis is focused on specific geometry, namely labyrinth seals used in rotary machines. Existing criteria equations determining heat transfer coefficients and other parameters in these specific geometries are described. The central part describes the built experimental device for the determination of values of heat flows and heat transfer coefficients on both stator and rotor for given airflow and rotor speed. The following section is devoted to presenting the results of the performed experiments with the corresponding criteria equations. The next part describes the basic mathematical models of inverse heat conduction problems. Calculations of heat flux using these inverse methods are performed and compared with reference heat flux sensors.
Hydrogen technology as a clean energy solution
Pavliska, Vojtěch ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
Gradual transition towards renewable sources of energy should be one of the main concerns of today’s society. This does not only concern the production of electricity but also automotive industry. Transportation is the main cause of air pollution in bigger cities and is also responsible for a solid percentage of green-house gases production. For these reasons, it is key to seek more sustainable and eco-friendly ways of motorized vehicles propulsion. Artificially produced hydrogen is one of the more promising alternatives to fossil fuels. This thesis describes the application of fuel cell technology for city busses. It presents some existing examples of hydrogen busses and their comparison with common means of mass transportation.
Energy use of biomass
Zátopek, Zdeněk ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is the assessment of possible use of biomass for producing heat energy. For solving this task is necessary to make research about individual types of biomass suitable for processing. In next it must be done a research about technologies used for producing heat energy from biomass. These information have to aim at creation of overview of industrial apllications of those technologies.
Condenser design of a nuclear power plant
Hejduk, Michal ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Milčák, Pavel (advisor)
The topic of this master´s thesis is the design of the steam generator for a nuclear power plant with VVER 440 reactor. The first part of this thesis describes a brief history of nuclear research, which is followed by an overview of nuclear reactors used now. The next part deals the types of steam the types of steam generators used today with their basic elements and design recommendations. The last and final part is the design of a steam generator for nuclear power plant with a VVER 440 reactor. Above all, is the thermal calculation of the steam generator and behaviour of steam generator depending on the reactor power. The design solution of steam generator and its strength calculation. The last part of the steam generator calculation the pressure loss of the steam generator is investigated.
Application of thermal analysis in energetics
Skala, Šimon ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Moskalík, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the thermal analysis. The first part contains general information about thermal analysis. The second part provides overview basic types of thermal analysis methods. In the third part there are described in detail two main thermal analysis methods. The last section is focused on realization and evaluation of thermogravimetric analysis of sample of a brown coal.
Steam turbine start-up
Jelínek, Tomáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on steam turbine start-up process. The first part of this thesis describes in general terms the basic practices and principles of start-up. The second part deals with the general description of thermal stress on the rotor and stator part. There is also simplified calculation of start-up duration and admissible temperature difference. The last part is a calculation of heat transfer coefficient using inverse heat transfer analysis. There is a comparison of models and measurement data of thermal stress.
Orbital welding in terms of nuclear power plant Temelin
Toman, Petr ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the selection of a suitable system for Orbital welding of impulse pipe at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. The aim of this work is to describe the current TIG method of manual welding, to describe the available Orbital welding technology, to select a suitable type of kit and to design an experiment to compare the products of individual manufacturers.
Boiling crisis of advanced nuclear fuels
Bírošíková, Martina ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a theoretical description of the boiling crisis during intensive heat transfer between the outer surface of the fuel and the coolant and research of the materials and coverage of fuel assemblies with emphasis on the importance of accident tolerant fuel with higher accident resistance. The experimental part ot the work determines the critical heat flux on the examined test sample and interprets the results obtained several times by repeated measurements.
