Preparation and continuous support of volunteers of HoSt Home-Start CR

(in English) This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of training and support of volunteers from the HoSt Home-Start CR organization. The aim was to find out an opinion of volunteers and coordinators on the quality of their training and support, provided by the organization. The second aim was to find out how much are the volunteers ready to volunteer in a client's family. Gathered information will serve coordinators as a guideline for improving the services for volunteers. The outcome of this diploma thesis is a questionnaire, which will help the organization to get a feedback from future absolvents of the training. The theoretical part focuses on four main topics - volunteering, volunteer, family and options of its support, volunteering in the field of family support. Results of my research inside the organisation are presented in the practical part. I chose semi-structured interviews as my research method. They were done with volunteers and coordinators of the organization. Recommendations for changes in particular subjects of training and support have resulted from the answers of the respondents. These results are summarized at the end of my thesis.

Using of coaching in social work.

(anglicky): The bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of coaching and its possibilities for using in social work. All the work is focused only on the micro level of social work, so it is working with methods of working with the individual. The thesis consists of a theoretical part, which mainly defines concepts directly related to the topic. Then their similarity is compared in accordance with chapters before. The second part - the practical part - was go through with interviews with the coaching respondents, the social work respondents and the respondents, both of whom meet these themes. Respondents were asked questions in the wording that corresponds to their work, that questions for respondents in the field of coaches had a modified wording, so they would ask about the essence of working with the client in coaching. Similarly, for the respondents in the field of social work the wording of the questions was adapted. Based on the evaluation of these interviews, not only the similarity of the two areas was confirmed but also the conditions under which coaching in social work could be used. Perception of professional identity by social workers

This master thesis researches a social identity of social workers. It deals specifically with a perception of this identity based on the age of the workers. The aim of the work is to compare the perception of social identity by social workers in two age categories and find out if there exist any signifiant differences between them. The theoretical part explains the key terms of identity and social identity, the definition of social work and the role of a social worker. The thesis refers to both Czech and international qualified literature, articles, fundamental documents and some experiments that have been done so far. The parctical part describes the research focused on the perception of social identity of two age groups of social workers. It analyses the collected data.
Intergenerational projects

The bachelor thesis deals with intergenerational projects. Firstly, seniors, the youth and their intergenerational relationships are described in the theoretical part. Secondly, ageism and intergenerational learning are covered in the thesis. Then theoretical part defines intergenerational projects in a general way. Lastly, it introduces chosen intergenerational programmes and explains the benefits that follow from them to involved generational groups and entire society. The empirical part is exclusively focused on evaluation of one special intergenerational project. In this project the third grade of the elementary school pupils participated. Pupils created portfolios based on their grandparents' memories, that they had collected due to time spent together. Questionnaire for the pupils and interviews with their teacher and the project implementer were used as a method for the evaluation.
The Employment opportunities for homeless people

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of integrating homeless people into the labor market. People living on the street lose working habits, social contacts and motivation to change their situation after a certain period of time.
 The main aim of the work is to map out the possibilities of integrating homeless people into the labor market and try to return to normal life. However, since their possible integration lies in many aspects, this work also examines the degree of motivation of the interviewed persons and the obstacles that prevent them from seeking employment. The first part of the thesis consists of the theoretical anchoring of the given issue, with an emphasis on the high degree of desocialization of homeless people and difficulties in the process of change. It also focuses on possible ways of helping and promoting job-seeking both from the state and non- governmental non-profit organizations. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter describing four non-state organizations focusing on the employment of homeless people. Awareness of the students of social work and law about family mediation

The theoretical part describes mediation, especially its specifics, the mediator and their education. Furthermore, I focus on the family and the child in context of family conflict, social work, law related to mediation and awareness do mediation as an alternative way of solving problems. The empirical part is a quantitative research on awareness of the family mediation among students of social work and law. Firstly, I compared the educational plans of particular programs. Secondly, I created online questionnaires and examined their results. As the additional method I used a structured interview with chief executive officer of Český mediátor company. The survey obtained 100 respondents, 47 student of law, 53 students of social work and one important for the interview. It was found that both students of social work and law have no mandatory subjects on mediation. They can only have it optionally. Based on the questionary survey it was proven that students of social work knew family mediation in terms of its process better than students of law. Surprisingly, students of social work are often interested in family mediation in their future profession. The Employment opportunities for homeless people

(in English) The following master dissertation deals with the issue of integration of homeless people to the labour market. People who live on the streets gradually lose their working habits, social contacts and motivation to change their situation. The main objective of this dissertation is to map the homeless people's chances of integration to the labour market and the way to try to bring them back to the ordinary life. Their possible integration depends on many aspects, therefore this dissertation considers a huge amount of motivation of the subjects asked and obstacles, which interfere in finding a job. First part of the dissertation is made of a theory with an emphasis on a high rate of desocialization of homeless people and the possible difficulties within searching for a job. It also focuses on considerable types of help and support whilst finding an employment for those people. That should come from different subjects - the government side and so from private organizations. Rigorózní práce "Senior-dobrovolník v sociální práci" pojednává o dobrovolné činnosti seniorů, v oblasti sociální práce a objasňuje, jak jejich činnost ovlivňuje jejich život v období seniorského věku. Teoretická část práce podává ucelený pohled na problematiku seniorského věku a jeho hlavní představitele, seniora/seniorky a kvalitu jejich života v naší společnosti. Dále se zabývá pohledem na seniora-dobrovolníka v současné seniorské populaci, specifičností, možnostmi a úskalími v práci se seniory-dobrovolníky, začleňováním seniorů- dobrovolníků do sociální práce a konkrétními příklady dobrovolnické činnosti seniorů v sociální práci v různých organizacích v České republice. Podrobně jsou podle zahraničních zdrojů zpracovány příklady dobrovolnictví seniorů ve vybraných evropských i mimoevropských zemích. Community Work with Immigrants

The thesis aims to look into the possibilities for the use of community work in the process of immigrant's integration into the society. The community work as an instrument of social work serves as a mean for building mutual bonds within a urban community, encourages development and exercise of the potential of the community and its citizens. This strengthens the active citizenship and involvement of the citizens in the processes that imminently concerns their lives. The thesis desribes the ways of possible inclusion of the immigrants in these processes in order for them to become equal fellow citizens of local communities and equal citizens of the country into which they decide to emigrate. The theoretical and philosophical background of this approach is an implementation and development of the political, civil and social rights that the immigrants acquire when given the permission of stay in certain country.
