Morávková, Eliška ; Štemberk, Jan (advisor) ; Řehořová, Irena (referee)
In this thesis I will deal with selected Czechoslovak films of the historical film genre from 1945-1955 and the influence of the political ideology of the time on their form. The aim of the thesis is to describe and evaluate the way in which the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia penetrated the final form and ideological message of the selected films, thus propagandistically trying to shape collective memory. The main focus of the thesis should be to introduce the knowledge about the development of the historical film genre in the Czech Republic and in the world until 1945 and then to evaluate the development of the historical film genre between 1945-1955. Particular attention is paid to the figure of the protagonist of the historical film as a carrier of ideology. In the text, I will mostly rely on contemporary historical sources - minutes of the ideological advisory bodies and the contemporary press, as well as professional literature and the films themselves in their original form.

"Most people don't mind global warming": Climate change denial in Czech politics between the years 2018 - 2021 This thesis deals with the topic of climate change denial in contemporary Czech politics. It aims to describe how the narrative of climate change denial is formed and reproduced. The first part captures the origins and the background of climate change scepticism in both Czech and international context with the special stress laid upon ideology. Based on the critical discourse analysis of the rhetorics of Alexandr Vondra, Jan Zahradník, Václav Klaus Jr., and Tomio Okamura, the second part of this paper aims to contribute by unravelling the key symptoms of climate change denial discourse of the above mentioned politicians as well as the dominant frames and discursive strategies used to deny both the anthropogenic climate change and the climate change politics. Kader Aghová, Magdalena ; Řehořová, Irena (advisor) ; Švantner, Martin (referee)
The thesis is devoted to analyzing the successful communication of some of the best Czech food bloggers on the social medium Instagram on which the topic of food is trendy. However, I noticed that many food bloggers profiles do not share only food photos, but also their personal photographs. Therefore, my thesis is also devoted to discovering which topics are between analyzed Instagram posts and on the food bloggers profiles the most common. In the communication analysis I focus on how the food bloggers communicate with their followers through texts, photos, hashtags, and how they react to the comments. I also analyze the emoticons and hashtags that they use. In the theoretical part, my thesis focuses mainly on Instagram, it's characterization, functions and methods of how to succeed in this social medium. It also focuses on different aspects of the photograph, "reading" the image, and social semiotics. The social semiotics approach is essential for my research because, on Instagram, the meaning is transmitted by not just one mode, but more modes - all of them are listed above. The empirical part uses qualitative research methods, which is based on content analysis of 3 successful food bloggers - @made_by_kristina, @cukrfree.cz, and @kitchenettehome. I analyze 12-13 most successful posts from their...
Problematic of Big Data representation in media
Sabitov, Daniyar ; Řehořová, Irena (advisor) ; Švantner, Martin (referee)
in English The important part of the current information society is data and methods of using it. One of the modern fields of data processing is Big Data. Computing capabilities have enabled Big Data to significantly increase efficiency in existing areas, for example in genetics, astronomy, marketing etc. Beyond the economy and IT sphere, Big Data becomes part of Digital Culture. It is a very quiet recent phenomenon that provoked an idea of a new era of empiricism. According to so-called "data-ism" everything that can be measured should be measured; transparent and reliable data will show the truth without emotions or ideology. With sufficient volume of data, they will speak for themselves. At the same time, there is certain cynicism about Big Data, as a concept and a practice. Especially when Big Data is applied not in the field of non-living systems, but to the human world, some authors warn of the emergence of a new digital positivism. Apart from criticizing the concept, researchers point to a number of problems and limitations that may arise when working with Big Data. For example, there are limitations connected with errors or incorrect interpretation, there are also ethical problems or persuasive abuse. The latter relates to Big Data misuse when calculations involving large numbers are used...
