Testing and evaluation of game performance in tennis
Čech, Jan ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Testing and evaluation of game performance in tennis. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare a standardized international ITN test and a practice match. Methods: In this thesis, qualitative and quantitative methods are used for data collection. The interviewing was done by semi-structured interview. The results are systematically arranged and tabulated for better understanding of the thesis. The process of testing the game performance is examined by observation. The comparative method was used to compare the measured results when testing the standardized international ITN test and the modified practice match (singles). Results: The values measured during testing were processed and compared. The results obtained show two testing stages that took place on four different days. Three categories were tested, where each category consisted of two probands (players) representing different tennis levels. Based on the data obtained, we can compare the relationships between the probands' estimates and the actual results. Keywords: tennis, game performance, ITN test

75 Abstract This diploma thesis deals with Legal Adjustment of Gamekeeping. Gamekeeping is perceived not only as a hobby, but it is a phenomenon which became a lifestyle of many people. The main purpose of hunting is to protect and maintain freely living game for the future generations but at the same time ensure the environment protection. According to the importance of the environment protection and the game there is no doubt, that this issue requires its own legal adjustment. The adjustment has evolved over years and these days it is influenced by the globalization, membership in multinational communities and organizations and many others. In the introduction the term Gamekeeping is presented together with the reasons which make this topic current. In the first chapter the history of hunting is analysed heading towards the development of gamekeeping including the role of poaching during over the years. The second chapter is an important part of the thesis, it processes sources of the gamekeeping legislation. The international legislation related to many international contracts focused on component aspects of the environment protection is mentioned first. It is also necessary to deal with the legislation of the European Union, of which the Czech Republic is a member, in which the legislation is included...
Operational and Economical Assessment of New Turbine Installation
Čech, Jan ; Hejda, Lukáš (referee) ; Luňáček, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the operational and economic assessment of the installation of new TG3 turbines in the Přerov Heating Plant. The beginning of this thesis deals with a brief theoretical introduction of this investment and describes the classical economic evaluation methods and the Monte Carlo method. Subsequently, the investment project was analyzed and inputs for the economic model were created. The economic model was then evaluated using classical methods and Monte Carlo methods, the results are then compared with each other. Based on the results of the economic evaluation, the most efficient variant of the Přerov Heating Plant technology was chosen.
Design of synchronous linear motor thermal network
Čech, Jan ; Toman, Marek (referee) ; Knebl, Ladislav (advisor)
The first part of this thesis deals with the study of linear motors. The introduction of the thesis deals with the brief description of the linear motor, including its accessories. This part explains principle of linear motors, their general advantages and disadvantages. The next section contains an overview and division of the currently used linear motors. The second part deals with the theoretical description of forms of heat transfer. The third part of the thesis deals with the design of an equivalent thermal circuit model of a linear iron-core linear motor with permanent magnet. Hereafter, the proposed design will be used to calculate the temperatures of the individual motor units. The temperatures are later compared with the results obtained with finite element method.
Dance Recognition from Audio Recordings
Pavlín, Tomáš ; Čech, Jan (advisor) ; Moudřík, Josef (referee)
We propose a CNN-based approach to classify ten genres of ballroom dances given audio recordings, five latin and five standard, namely Cha Cha Cha, Jive, Paso Doble, Rumba, Samba, Quickstep, Slow Foxtrot, Slow Waltz, Tango and Viennese Waltz. We utilize a spectrogram of an audio signal and we treat it as an image that is an input of the CNN. The classification is performed independently by 5-seconds spectrogram segments in sliding window fashion and the results are then aggregated. The method was tested on following datasets: Publicly available Extended Ballroom dataset collected by Marchand and Peeters, 2016 and two YouTube datasets collected by us, one in studio quality and the other, more challenging, recorded on mobile phones. The method achieved accuracy 93.9%, 96.7% and 89.8% respectively. The method runs in real-time. We implemented a web application to demonstrate the proposed method.
Multimodality in Machine Translation
Libovický, Jindřich ; Pecina, Pavel (advisor) ; Specia, Lucia (referee) ; Čech, Jan (referee)
Multimodality in Machine Translation Jindřich Libovický Traditionally, most natural language processing tasks are solved within the lan- guage, relying on distributional properties of words. Representation learning abilities of deep learning recently allowed using additional information source by grounding the representations in the visual modality. One of the tasks that attempt to exploit the visual information is multimodal machine translation: translation of image captions when having access to the original image. The thesis summarizes joint processing of language and real-world images using deep learning. It gives an overview of the state of the art in multimodal machine translation and describes our original contribution to solving this task. We introduce methods of combining multiple inputs of possibly different modalities in recurrent and self-attentive sequence-to-sequence models and show results on multimodal machine translation and other tasks related to machine translation. Finally, we analyze how the multimodality influences the semantic properties of the sentence representation learned by the networks and how that relates to translation quality.
Segregation during solidification in austenitic-ferritic stainless steels
Kejha, Richard ; Čech, Jan (referee) ; Pernica, Vítězslav (advisor)
The master thesis deals with processes of segregation in austenitic-ferritic stainless steels. The introductory part consists of characteristics features of austenitic-ferritic steels and theoretical analysis of segregation processes. The second part shows practical measurements of segregation in experimental casting. Macrosegregation was measured on a spectrometric analyzer and simultaneously solved in the simulation program MAGMA. The aim of this thesis is to verify the effect of solidification time and dwell time between liquidus and solidus temperature on the chemical heterogeneity of duplex stainless steel casting of about 500 [mm]. Chemical heterogeneity was solved for selected alloying and accompanying elements such as C, Mo, Ni, Mn, Cr. The microsegregation was not addressed. Comparison of the mechanical properties of cast and heat treated duplex steel was done by tensile testing of samples cut from the center of the casting.
Recovery and recrystallization of austenitic steel 08Cr18Ni10T
Čech, Jan ; Gregor, Martin (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis deals with influences of graded deformations, temperatures and holding times on the grains and subgrains size in steel 08Cr18Ni10T. In literary part of the thesis there are described static and dynamic annealing treatments, then also austenitic stainless steels and some selected types of their processing. In experimental part there is studied grain size on differently deformed samples annealed in temperature range 1050–1200 °C for 10, 50 and 100 minutes. Analysis of present structures units was perform by EBSD. Except of that, there were realized chemical analysis of selected inclusions and also hardness test were realised. Achieved measurement shown, that grain size of chosen steel is depended on all 3 variable values.
Tři eseje o Josephu Stiglitzovi a informačních asymetriích
Pospíšil, Martin ; Mertlík, Pavel (advisor) ; Čech, Jan (referee)
This thesis contains three essays related to the work of economist Joseph Stiglitz. The first essay describes the contribution of Stiglitz to economic theory by analysing problems of information asymmetry, new Keynesian and institutional economics, rationality, and market theories. Shortcomings of neoclassical economics are described and possible solutions are outlined. The last part of this is essay summarizes the main critique to Stiglitz. The second essay applies the topic of information asymmetry by discussing whether the current level of economic development leads to convergence or divergence in the technology and information levels. The conclusion is that even though globalisation affects the level of technology and information, we do not see convergence as predicted by several theoretical models and information asymmetry remains an important element in the economy. The last essay links the Stiglitz-Greenwald theory of credit rationing using recent Czech data from years 2008 and 2009. Data confirm that credit rationing increases, information asymmetry increases, and the transmission mechanism does not function well during economic decline. I conclude that Czech banks increase their screening of clients and consequently credit rationing in the times uncertainty leading to ambiguous development...
