Strnad, Vladimír ; Chytilová, Helena (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
This thesis examines development of the shadow economy in context of crisis on sample of 46 countries, divided into two groups, high income OECD countries and transition countries. In order to examine the effect of crisis on the shadow economy, we compare two panel analyses, first ranging over period 2005-2007 and second 2008-2010. We found that the effect of driving forces behind the shadow economy differs in those two panels, suggesting that crisis has had a significant effect on the development of the shadow economy. The results suggest that GDP growth has positive effect on the size of the shadow economy after the crisis.

Kindlová, Martina ; Čermáková, Klára (advisor) ; Brožová, Dagmar (referee)
The subjekt of this bachelor paper is a short description of pension systems in some countries around the Word and pension system in the Czech Republic is described closely. Besides present situation there is also mentioned possible changes of this system according to inspiration from other world economies. I have made extensive calculator for the calculation of optimal high of retirement pension, which is financed by state in a small part and each individual will save alone in a greater part. I have chosen this theme because it is very current and important for its possibly negative economical and cultural effects for today ́s population. At the end I point out that it is necessary to change the pension system, because it is possible that there will not be any money left for pensions, according to the demographic prognosis.
Impact of foreign aid and remittances on economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa
Vokolek, Aleš ; Rod, Aleš (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to determine what impact of foreign aid on economic growth in Sub-Saharan countries is. For this purpose the foreign aid is decomposed into several groups and at the same time the difference between commitment and disbursement is taken into account. For estimation of the model the study uses the method of five and three-years moving averages as well as the method of Generalized Linear Models. According to the results there is observable a positive influence on GDP per capita in case of foreign aid for education and in case of foreign aid for private business. On the contrary, foreign aid for agriculture, foreign aid for infrastructure and debt aid have negative impact on economic growth. In case of explanatory variables as remittances and fiscal foreign aid there is no proof of their significance in the model.
Which political regime produces better sports results - capitalism, or socialism
Janoušek, Filip ; Lahvička, Jiří (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
The main aim of my paper is to investigate the influence of the political system on sports achievements. I examine the difference between medal achievements of athletes from so called socialist countries with one ruling party and command economy and those from democratic countries with market economy in the following 5 major sport events in the period from 1949 to 2009: The Summer Olympic games, The Winter Olympic games, The World Championships in Athletics, The World Swimming Championships, The World Gymnastics Championships. In order to determine this influence, two models are used. The first is the basic model, which is similar to models widely used in existing works on this topic. The second is the model with dummy for countries, which uses fixed effects. This paper performs a detailed analysis of wide range of sports which makes it different from existing research. Using the two above mentioned models, the comparison of countries with similar GDP per capita shows, that socialist countries athletes obtained more medals that those from democratic countries. The difference was 1.8 -- 3.7 percentage points from the total number of medals awarded for analyzed period of time.

Influence of unemployment to electoral results of extremistic parties: Southern Europe vs. Central Europe
Zoul, Zdeněk ; Rod, Aleš (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
Thesis examines influence of unemployment on the electoral results of extremistic and radical parties in parliamentary elections in several European countries from 2000 to 2010. By using fixed effects model on panel data collected on regional level it was found that in Czech Republic, Hungary and Spain higher levels of unemployment lead to higher elactoral success of radical and extremistic parties. However in Greece and Slovakia such a influence turned out as insignificant. Also hypothesis of typical voter of such parties was tested. It is commonly accepted that typical voter of extremistic parties is young man with lower education. This hypothesis can't be confirmed in any of examined countries.
Impact of Salary Levels on Immigration to The Czech Republic
Pagáčová, Ilona ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
This work deals with immigration to the Czech Republic and its goal is to discover how big influence on immigration is caused by the wage gap between foreign countries and Czech Republic for the same work and if this determinant is the most important of this differential. Based on the results of the regression analysis I was able to confirm that wage is indeed an important determinant, namely to increase the gap between wages paid in the Czech Republic and foreigners in the country of origin by one percent, the number of immigrants increase by 0.63 percent. Although salary is important, has not the greatest influence on number of immigrants, depending on the model. GDP has a greater impact, but that is correlated with wages. Result of this work is the finding that the biggest attraction for foreigners is higher living standard, which reflect both GDP and income.
Financial stability in terms of the Czech republic
Hustolesová, Lucie ; Čermáková, Klára (advisor) ; Sedláček, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis is supposed to evaluace financial stability in terms of the Czech Republic. To evaluace financial stability, I adopted three criterions from the economist Frederic S. Mishkin, which are in correspondence with financial stability's assumptions of the Czech national bank. These criterions are 1. the price stability, 2. the coordination of monetary and fiscal policy and 3. the bank sector supervision. I use tools of regression analysis as well as datas international comparison. I evaluate all three assumptions gradually and consecutively I draw a conclusion about financial stability of the czech economy based on the criterions' state of fulfilment.

Sojka, Jiří ; Čermáková, Klára (advisor) ; Mirvald, Michal (referee)
This work deals with an unemployment rate diference in the Czech Republic if Czech crown goes down towards Euro from the origin of an European currency until 2009. The first part of this work discusses Euro and its presumtions to influence Czech labour market. A connection between Euro and chosen macroeconomic indicators, which influence Czech unemployment, is shown there and the influence of Czech crown depreciation towards Euro with its impact to unemployment rate is explored too. There is a regression model used in the second part. It describes relationships of the exchange rate and the rate of unemployment. The objective of this work puts in light a fact that depreciation of Czech crown influences the Czech unemployment rate. If Czech crown goes down towards Euro about 1 CZK, the unemployment rate increases in 7,9 %. Czech currency and its cohesion with Euro is clear, which is improved in a practical example in the end of the work.
