Thermal calculation of electric motor with permanent magnets and squirrel cage
Homolová, Romana ; Bárta, Jan (referee) ; Toman, Marek (advisor)
In the first part, this project deals with the elaboration of a Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. Possible designs of the motor, used magnets and also its function are listed there. The next part of the project summarizes the theory of heat transfer needed to calculate the heating of rotating electric machines. The following section deals with the calculation of the heating of the motor using the method of thermal networks and a specific network for asynchronous motor is presented there. A newly designed rotor network of the Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is based on this network. To verify the functionality of the network, a calculation of the rotor temperature distribution was done in Ansys Workbench program. The designed thermal network of the whole motor and a verification of its functionality with the calculation from Ansys are presented in the last part of the project.

Operation of induction motor with respect to maximum efficiency
Čech, Jiří ; Ctibor, Jiří (referee) ; Toman, Marek (advisor)
In the first part of this paper a mathematical model of induction motor is described. With usage of -network equivalent circuit equations for calculation of individual power losses and overall efficiency are derived. Research study of loss minimization control is introduced in the next part. Several often used methods of variable frequency drive control are described. Also a review of loss minimization techniques from the perspective of induction motor control are presented. The last part of this paper includes a detailed description of scalar induction motor drive focused on reaching optimal efficiency. The loss minimization technique used is a model based method with rotor frequency being the control variable. At the end the performance of this method is verified using a computational script in Matlab.

Němec, Petr ; Toman, Marek (referee) ; Procházka, Petr (advisor)
The goal of this Bachelor´s thesis is design of an power inverter for BDC motor 36 V/800 W with permanent magnets. The first part of this work is devoted to the brief description of drive elements, which with designed converter create drive system. It´s also contain measures of used BDC motor MY1020. In the second part there is a outline description of functions and connection of DC/DC converters with respect to the final solution. The power circuit will be built with the MOS-FET IRFP4110 connected to the H bridge. Transducer control logic will be provided by the microcontroller development board Arduino UNO 3 with the integrated driver circuit IR2110.

Thermal model of solid rotor high-speed induction motor with water cooling
Súkeník, Jakub ; Vítek, Ondřej (referee) ; Toman, Marek (advisor)
This paper deals with thermal calculations of high-speed induction machine with a solid rotor with a copper coating and water cooling. The first part presents the basic equations and mechanisms of heat transfer, and also describes the method of heat network. In~the~next section, thermal resistances for individual parts of the machine and water cooling are derived. The third part describes the distribution of nodes in the heat network of~the induction machine. The last part contains the results of the heat network for~the~high-speed induction machine with the solid rotor with the copper coating and water cooling. Functionality of the created heat network was verified using Ansys software.
AC voltage converter
Bérceš, Erik ; Procházka, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with an AC voltage converter with an input voltage Uin = 50 V and output current Iout = 5 A controlled by the processor Arduino. The assignment concentrates on theoretical knowledge of the AC voltage converter, phase control of triac and on the semiconductor devices which are its main components. The main task of the thesis is proposition and realization of an AC voltage converter which will be used for the laboratory work in the Power Electronics course. The thesis contains software which enables controlling the converter as well as verifying its functionality.
Thermal Model of Outer Rotor Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine
Constrained modeling of induction motor using physical modeling
Toman, Marek ; Huzlík, Rostislav (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This paper deals with interaction of different physical phenomena in asynchronous motor. The first part of this work is devoted to computing of electrical ratios in asynchronous motor. By using the equivalent circuit in the shape of Gamma-circuit the equation for computing of currents, performances and losses of asynchronous motor are derived. The second part describes calculating of electromagnetic circuit and iron-core losses. In the next part there is the first part of associated model created which respects electric and electromagnetic ratios in the asynchronous motor. This model can be used for example to pursuance of variation of flux density caused by resizing load. In this model the unconventional way of computing the magnetizating inductance and resistance coresponding to iron-core losses is used. The next part deals with calculation of machine warming using the thermal network. In the last part there is a complete coupled model assembed which respects the interaction of electrical, electromagnetical and thermal ratios of induction machine.
