Solution of complex of school buildings in Ostrava-Black Meadow. The area is located by the river Ostravice. The whole complex is designed as crossing a line between the city and the river. River should be an element which attracts people to stayand relax. My goal is thus to access the Ostravice river - create an attractive waterfront and get city closer to it.

The main idea of the project is the ambition to create an ageless school design, which is able to react flexibly to the constantly evolving educational system and changing space requirements. Philosophy is based on the principle of "open school". School as an important public building has a great potential to act as a catalyst within the neighbourhood. On one hand, it is open to the public by the means of shared facilities (library, gymnasium, multipurpose hall, art classrooms, language labs…). But on the other hand, openness is also important within the school itself. School can be understood as a small community. And because every community needs a public space as a platform for common activities, the school may have its own in the form of a central atrium. It acts as a "piazza", where numerous diverse activities are allowed to happen. Proposal for a school organization is based on the ability of social integration, which is gradually formulated throughout the childhood.

The aim and assignment of this thesis is to find appropriate design, layout and functional relations with regard to present trends and needs in education. Thesis should find an appropriate type of school which will fit in the specific environment and solve the problems in this enviroment. In order to enhance the overall ring character, the school is supposed to be a detached building. The idea of positioning school in the city center as well as the need of securing the school and especially psychological convenience lead to the idea of monoblock building which is getting more closed and concentrated inwards. The school acts as integrated architectonical organism and due to this idea it appears simply and austerely from outside and as it opens up it shows secure and interesting school life. The green meadow should spread into the school. The building is situated between two different environments which aren’t separated but rather connected as much as possible on the parterre. The school doesn’t obstruct but rather offers the opportunity of passing to different parts. Public space and vegatation which were located in this place were shifted to the upper level of green roof of the school parterre. Original open public space is replaced by closed school parterre which creates a common base – platform. This base serves as common semi-public space which facilitates free movement, encounters of different people of different age and so it is a kind of melting pot for all schools. The parterre is visually opened to the surrounding green vegetation which enhances the continuity of space. This idea is supported by glass façade with wood shades. Scale of parterre depends on the dimension of vegetation in order to make the shades appear as tree trunks and fade away when looking out of the building. In contrast to the light base, the heavy concrete matter represents particular units of schools which are situated on the social platform of building which levitates above green vegetation of “Černá louka”.
Society over the Sázava

The subject of the diploma thesis is based on the specific intention of the town of Žďár nad Sázavou for the reconstruction of the original nursery school at Okružní street to the community center. The diploma thesis follows the analytical part of the previous semester, which examined the possibilities, risks and potential of the city. The main starting point is the work with the existing building - reconstruction and extension of the original kindergarten building. Compared to the conventional new "green meadow" construction, this assignment emphasizes the use of existing values, the concentration and strengthening of the existing city as opposed to the contemporary colonization of the free landscape. The design of a building modification of an existing building must also be based on the perception of the continuity of the development, in particular the constructional nature of the building, so that the newly designed "layer" of development does not become a denial of the previous layers.
Socio-cultural centre with townhall for the district Brno-Kohoutovice

The building of the town hall Brno Kohoutovice is situated on the site next to the local hospital. Currently, there is a widespread paved area, which has become the place for markets and other cultural activities. Town hall completed urban structure, built on the most visible plot, and closes the plaza on the east side. From the south, the square is open to Kohoutovická valley. It is closed and opened at the same time by a colonnade. Functional composition is expressed in both - size and material. On a solid concrete base, which holds cultural and social events, lie two light steel boxes dedicated to the town hall. The middle part is cantilivered into the square, which symbolizes the proximity of town hall offices to the citizens. It is dedicated to the departements, which are in daily contact with the public. The upper part with large terrace has representative function. There are the internal departements and a ceremonial hall.

Objects are designed on the edge of the designed park, in it’s southern part near the Ostravice river. Object, in which the elementary school is located, lyceum and the sports hall are located on the edge of this park. The kindergarden object is located separately few meters south. The school is rated for 270 children attending the elementary school and for 120 students of the high school. The kindergarden can be attended by up to 75 children.
Cultural Center in Koprivnice

Main goal of this work is architectural and urban solution of cultural center at Kopřivnice. Design is working with partial demolition of original structure, which brings four separated buildings and creates new public space in the city center.
City Library of Přerov

The town library is located on Přerovké povstání square in Přerov. Library has three floors and there is commercial parterre with the coffee-bar. There is an atrium in the middle of square shape building. The form of the building was inspirated by Kino Hvězda.
New town hall for the district Brno-North

The project design a city town hall for Brno north on the site of today's military barracks. Classical symmetry of the composition of the original building dominates the space above the terrain configuration. The buildings are oriented towards the slope and determine the nature of space. In this constellation any classical building would disturb this order. The volume of the building must be very subtle to preserve the harmony of the original composition. The main volume of the building is located below the surface of the square, however, the building is open towards most exposed corner. Sloping slab fall line is aiming to the city center and Špilberk Castle. The inclination is only 8 degrees to allow safe movement and to preserve the original space. The building preserves the street lines of surrounding blocks, but sloped slab exceeds the corner across the street line to draw attention. Parts of the building, requiring daylight had to be placed above the ground, but to preserve the original space the new volume must be subtle.
New town hall for the district Brno-North

Project for a new town hall for the city part Brno-sever on the site of the former barracks in Cerna Pole. The proposal is an emphasis on spatial shaping inner atrium and the overall work with natural lighting.
