Poetics of Jacques Prévert's work of art and the exploitation of his poetry in a French language education.

Title of the thesis: Poetics of Jacques Prévert's work of art and the exploitation of his poetry in a French language education. Keywords: poetics, French poetry, French chanson, poetic realism, surrealism, motivation Abstract: The aim of this thesis was to intercept and denote an artistic legacy in Jacques Prévert's work of art which has an overtime value and is capable with its themes of everyday life to also address the contemporary generations. The magic of Prévert's genius consists in his simple language that is spoken by common men, all the people use this language and thus, they could understand it well. A poet intensifies his legacy by series of examples and illustrations of everyday life that make his works accessible for everyone. In a thesis, we have primarily paid attention to the poetics of his large artistic creation by pointing on the particularity of his poetic language, the simplicity and accessibility of his work. Through Prévert's poetry and chanson, we have tried to present French language to teenage students in an inventive and creative way not only as a language itself, but also as a cultural heritage of the country. We elaborated pedagogical sheets in a practical part of a thesis aimed to serve as a methodological resource for the French language teachers.
Linguistic and didactic interpretation of translation

This thesis is focused on the linguistic and didactic interpretation of translation. Its objective is to introduce the reader to the issues of language-focused findings, which are reflected in translators' work and besides, to describe the situation of didactic contribution of translation in second language teaching. The work is divided ino two main parts. In the first one, there is translators' work and his competences being presented on the ground of chosen linguistic theories. These are further extended by a practical part of description and analysis of translation methods. The whole thesis is being closed by the second part which mediates the didactic point of view of the given issue. The basic overview facts of actual situation of the use of translation in modern language classes are summarized in here.

Title of the thesis: Districts and places of Paris in the course of history: Montmartre Keywords: streets, squares, history, cabaret, bohemian, film, point of interest Abstract: The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the Parisian district of Montmartre. In many aspects it is quite an exceptional quarter and totally different from other districts of Paris. Its characteristic features make it famous worldwide. Thus the chief aim of the work was to try to find out what is so specific about it, what makes its position in Paris so privileged and in what way it has contributed to the overall development of French culture. The work is conceived as a specific historical and cultural view of the district and strives at picking up its most characteristic features which brought it to the notice of the French themselves as well as members of other peoples around the world. What contributed to the latter to a great degree were its architectonic monuments, and, moreover, its cabarets and concert cafés. On top of that, it was also made famous through the works of many renowned artists.
Usage of Literature texts in French language on a secondary grammar school

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím literárních textů v jejich originální, neupravené podobě při výuce francouzského jazyka na gymnáziu. Jejím hlavním cílem je poskytnou informace a konkrétní metodologické postupy učitelům francouzského jazyka, kteří s těmito texty již pracují, nebo by chtěli začít. Při práci s literárními díly se zaměřuje především na zlepšení porozumění čtenému textu v cizím jazyce za pomoci čtenářských strategií, a tím na zvýšení úrovně čtenářské gramotnosti žáků v jazyce mateřském, která je podle výzkumů v České republice horší než v mnoha ostatních vyspělých zemích. Dalším úkolem je vzbudit v žácích lásku k literatuře, přimět je číst více a nad literárním dílem kriticky uvažovat a vést s ním dialog. Abychom ospravedlnili práci s literárním textem při výuce, prozkoumali jsme metodické směry v historii cizojazyčného vyučování a sledovali jejich přístup k literatuře. Zjistili jsme, že literární texty využívala především tradiční metoda založená na překladu a studiu gramatiky na jejich základě, ale její přístup jsme shledali nevhodným. Další metody porozumění textu opomíjejí a ten se znovu vrací až v komunikativní metodě a využití literárních textů se rozmáhá především dnes. Buquoy aristocratic family, history and cultural legacy in Bohemia

1 Abstract The Buquoy aristocratic family is a branch of the Longueval family that has origins in current France. The Buquoys arrived in Lands of the Bohemian Crown during the thirty years' war when Charles Bonaventure was called in to fight Bohemian Protestants. Soon after, he received an estate in the Southern Bohemia from Ferdinand II where he and his descendants stayed nearly three and a half centuries. The Buquoys soon extended their opulent estates by Prague palaces and few regions in the North Bohemia. They contributed to advances in agriculture, glassblowing and in the area of social and scholar reforms. They were also engaged in politics and became important patrons of culture and arts. Nevertheless, the Buquoys suffered the same fate as other aristocratic families. In the beginning of the 19th century, they started losing their privileges and estates and, in 1945, they were expelled from Czechoslovakia based on Beneš decrees concerning retribution. The aim of this thesis is to point out the cultural legacy which Buquoys left behind in the current Czech Republic and to describe their overall contribution in particular areas. This bachelor thesis entitled Religious and secular holidays in France maps the French holidays and feast days, the traditions and the folk customs during the year. It focuses on the religious holidays (Christian, Islamic, Jewish), the secular days, the significant sport and cultural events. It acquaints the readers with regional folklore festivities. The aim of the thesis is to briefly sketch the historical development of the traditions and their current form. The characterization of the religious holidays is supplemented by links related to basic ideas and values of Christianity, Islam and Judaism. The thesis gives a brief insight into historical development of the calendar and offers possible ways of sorting the feast days.

Destiny of French as a Language of Diplomacy: Situation in the Czech Republic

The Diploma thesis deals with the current status of French as a language of diplomacy and with the role and the position of French in the Czech Republic. The goal of the theoretical part is to define the term diplomacy, to summarize significant periods of French language in the history of diplomacy, to deal with the factors which influence language status and to observe competitors of French. It focuses on six selected languages: English, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic and Chinese. It is trying to show the particularities of French as a diplomatic language. In the practical part, its goal is firstly to outline diplomatic organizations in our country and to describe their function. On the basis of the latest statistics and other collected data by means of interviews, the thesis illustrates the changes which can be traced in the language recently. Concerning the Czech Republic, it shows the changes caused by the accession to the EU and by the introduction of the CEFRL. In the end, it suggests three possible hypotheses of subsequent development of the French language in the world. Personality of Emma Bovary in Gustave Flaubert's roman

This final work consist in the analysis of Emma Bovary's personality, the main heroine of Gustave Flaubert's roman Madame Bovary. It describes her life changes depending on changing circonstainces of her entourage and on her interior living of these situations. It deals as well with the développement of her personality from a provincial girl over to a young woman and a wife who knows about love only from romantic literature, and finally presents her like a mother and multiple mistress. This work shows Emma Bovary from différents points of view, like a literature phenomenon. The purpose of it is not to understand, to judge or to defend her or her actions, this work just summarises not only her attitudes in different situations in her life, her dreams, troubles, but also little pleasures arising from them.

The life and work of the two authors are briefly described as well as the time when they lived. The longer part of the thesis presents a content analysis and a formal analysis of the novels. The thesis places particular emphasis on the analysis of the story, the main characters and turning points in their lives. The aim is then to compare the two heroines based on the previous analysis of the novels and to highlight what they have in common and in what they differ and to answer the question of whether or not Emma Bovary and Thérèse Desqueyroux are victims, victims of circumstances, or whether they are inherently destructive and rightly described as monsters. All the important points of the thesis are summarized in the conclusion.
