Parallelization of Ray Tracing
Čižek, Martin ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
Ray tracing is widely used technique for realistic rendering of computer scenes. Its major drawback is time needed to compute the image, therefore it's usually parallelized. This thesis describes parallelization and ray tracing in general. It explains the possibility of how can be ray tracing parallelized as well as it defines the problems which may occur during the process. The result is parallel rendering application which uses selected ray tracing software and measurement of how successful this application is.
Speed Measurement of Vehicles from Surveillance Camera
Jaklovský, Samuel ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Sochor, Jakub (advisor)
This master's thesis is focused on fully automatic calibration of traffic surveillance camera, which is used for speed measurement of passing vehicles. Thesis contains and describes theoretical information and algorithms related to this issue. Based on this information and algorithms, a comprehensive system design for automatic calibration and speed measurement was built. The proposed system has been successfully implemented. The implemented system is optimized to process the smallest portion of the video input for the automatic calibration of the camera. Calibration parameters are obtained after processing only two and half minutes of input video. The accuracy of the implemented system was evaluated on the dataset BrnoCompSpeed. The speed measurement error using the automatic calibration system is 8.15 km/h. The error is mainly caused by inaccurate scale acquisition, and when it is replaced by manually obtained scale, the error is reduced to 2.45 km/h. The speed measuring system itself has an error of only 1.62 km/h (evaluated using manual calibration parameters).
Biologically Inspired Methods of Object Recognition
Vaľko, Tomáš ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Juránek, Roman (advisor)
Object recognition is one of many tasks in which the computer is still behind the human. Therefore, development in this area takes inspiration from nature and especially from the function of the human brain. This work focuses on object recognition based on extracting relevant information from images, features. Features are obtained in a similar way as the human brain processes visual stimuli. Subsequently, these features are used to train classifiers for object recognition (e.g. SVM, k-NN, ANN). This work examines the feature extraction stage. Its aim is to improve the feature extraction and thereby increase performance of object recognition by computer.
Horizon Detection in Image
Video Editor
Kopřiva, Vít ; Láník, Aleš (referee) ; Juránek, Roman (advisor)
This work deals with an implementation of a simple software system for video editing. The practical part of this work examines the essential functions of the software: video sequence import, sequence cutting, filtering, timeline placement and video sequence export. This software is the command line interface application, primarily designed for batch editing of video files into the one single video sequence. Theoretical part of this thesis describes technological development of a video editing as well as the current software means.
Human Presence Detection and Applications in Smart Home Environments
Comic Images Super-Resolution Using Deep Learning
Zdravecký, Peter ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
Táto práca demonštruje metódu super rozlíšenia na zlepšenie kvality komiksových obrázkov pomocou hlbokého učenia. Náročnou časťou tejto úlohy bolo súčasne zachovať kvalitu textových a kreslených častí, bez výraznej deformácie ktorejkoľvek časti z nich. Na dosiahnutie uspokojivých výsledkov boli skúmané dve hlboké neurónové siete. Sieť U-Net a modifikácia s názvom Robustný U-Net (RUNet).

This work deals with design and implementation of a simple application for video processing and video editing. Work examines essential functions of program: video sequence import, sequence cutting, timeline placement and video sequence export. This software has graphical user interface which is intended for amateur user. Theoretical part of this thesis describes current software for video editing and tools for creation of graphical user interfaces.
Detection of Vehicles in Image
Špaňhel, Jakub ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis aims to implement the vehicle detection and tracking method based on the motion model suitable for real-time processing. The first part includes analysis of the commonly used methods. The second part introduces principles of implemented method. This method consists of low-level features extraction, the spatiotemporal profiling of extracted features and image intensities, and classification of obtained traces based on HMM. Subsequently experiments using this trustworthy method are conducted to locate areas of potential method improvements.
Video Editor
Homola, Miloš ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Juránek, Roman (advisor)
In this paper I pay attention to video editation issue. Firstly the basic terminology is explained, then the history of analog editation is described and further more even digital editation as well. At this spot, very interesting history of development of this field isn't forgotten and also the architecture of video editing software is described as we know them today. The most used digital forrmats are summarized as well. In next chapters the design of simple video editing application is explained. The applied technologies are briefly described and the decision of the choice is clarified. The result of whole work is a library of tools for video processing applications development demonstrated in a simple application.
