Optimization of telecommunication education environment
Jeřábek, Josef ; Minarčík, Martin (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The intended goal within the scope of this master´s thesis is to get acquainted with the product of EMONA INSTRUMENTS Company. There are two main concepts: the software version TutorTIMS – Advanced and the hardware version TIMS-301. Both concepts were bought into the laboratory, where the following subjects are being lectured: “Access and transport networks” and “Telecommunication network services”. Three laboratory exercises were prepared for both software version and hardware version. Both versions are modular and all designed exercises support independent and creative approach of students. All exercises also consist of standard parts, which are the description of the exercise and exemplary protocol solution. The first exercise is called “amplitude modulation” and is designed as an introductory exercise. Next are a couple of exercises which are designed to be performed on one workplace at the same time. The first of them is focused on practical verification of facts from amplitude shift keying, the second one focuses on link codes. This couple of exercises is the best choice, considering the hardware version of TIMS-301 and at the present time available modules in the lab. Software version is not limited in such way, but it was required to allow performing all of prepared exercises on both versions. Lastly there is a comparison between the software and hardware version and several options for hardware TIMS optimization.
Design of a virtual local computer network for educational purposes
Janošík, Martin ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The master’s thesis focuses on the virtual local computer network for laboratory usage. It aims to propose and realize proper network connection in order to monitor expected data flow. Thanks to the network analysers (software ClearSight and hardware NetTool Series II) it plans to pursue in detail the used transmission protocols of TCP/IP layers. The most decisive feature happens to be the right choice of appropriate network components and their precise configuration. Consequently, the thesis formulates a proposal of a laboratory task for the needs of students, which is also closely related to the actual problems. The assignment of the task will serve the teachers as a test pattern for measurement. The results elaborated in the form of the model protocol should enable later comparison of the recorded data. Another part of the diploma thesis is the working-out of well arranged manuals for the network analysers involved.

Stískal, Břetislav ; Kacálek, Jan (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis is devided into theoretic and practice parts. Theoretic part contains basic information about history and development of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) from last century till present. Prove of the theoretic section is discussed in the practice part, for example learning, training each types of topology of artificial neural networks on some specifics works. Simulation of this networks and then describing results. Aim of thesis is simulation of the active networks element controlling by artificial neural networks. It means learning, training and simulation of designed neural network. This section contains algorithm of ports switching by address with Hopfield's networks, which used solution of typical Trade Salesman Problem (TSP). Next point is to sketch problems with optimalization and their solutions. Hopfield's topology is compared with Recurrent topology of neural networks (Elman's and Layer Recurrent's topology) their main differents, their advantages and disadvantages and supposed their solution of optimalization in controlling of network's switch. From thesis experience is introduced solution with controll function of ANN in active networks elements in the future.
Implementation of quality of service in the control of a network element
Boháč, Martin ; Kyselák, Martin (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The main task of the Master Thesis is introduction into problems of quality of service in converged networks especially with use of IP protocol version 6. Converged networks are able to transfer different data types - voice, data or multimedia stream. Design of active network unit is realized in Matlab Simulink. Designed model consists of simple network with some computer terminals which are connected with network element - switch. Switch model simulates real traffic of computer terminals, that are sending data to remote users. Packets in switch are sorting by data stream type and QoS. Switch is managed by neuron network. Neuron network reacts to input data and controls switch depending on type of recipient. Switch model can be used in laboratory exercising. Solving this theme needs basic skill in Simulink and theme can be done in one laboratory exercise.
Minimizing the effect of interference on wireless network
Doležal, Jan ; Kyselák, Martin (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned the technology with technologies of transfer through wireless devices. It is about possibilities of optimization of transfer in wireless net, especially of the reduction of interference influence. The first part is about theory and the standards development of wireless technology. There are methods and principles used in wireless technologies. The second part is a practical measuring and testing of an internal wireless net, with the emphasis being on the source of interference influence. Measuring was focused on interference between access points and was not about meteorological influence. It continues with theory and testing of interference of the microwave oven in our wireless net. Then, it is a practical demonstration of interference in an external environment. There are practical examples of interference between different providers’ nets on the same area and solutions to prevent or to cancel this interference. In next part of work the wireless net is parsed and described in a given territory. Here is described the way how to precede the reciprocal interference and eventually how this mutual disturbance suppress. Consequently, our net is optimized for customer growth and for today’s options of newer and more powerful components for wireless transfer. Finally there are two laboratory tasks. The first one is about practical measuring and testing of wireless net’s parameters and the second one is about simulation of wireless networks in the Opnet program.
Security prospects of wireless communication networks
Hráček, Jiří ; Lambertová, Petra (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This master thesis deals with all types of wireless networks security – in personal, local, metropolitan and also mobile networks. This work is mostly focused on wireless local area networks (WLANs), which are the most widespread at nowadays. This work describes attacks to the wireless local area network, attackers steps and possible protection against it. Some of these attacks are tested in practical part of this work. In this master thesis there were also designed and created two laboratory exercises. One of them is a simulation in the wireless network using Opnet Modeler application. The other exercise is strictly practical type.
Research into the appropriateness of diverse multimedia cabling applications
Tichý, Ondřej ; Kapoun, Vladimír (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The reader can find a summary of metallic structured cabling in this thesis. It means there is described progress of this cabling and the specifications of the cabling systems. There are also described all types of these cables and some of connectors. The types of cable are summed in the table at the end of this part. In another part there are shown some aplications used for structured cabling. In the futher part there are described tests defined in the specifications in more detail. The most importatnt part of this thesis is focused on various tests. Firstly, there were chosen typical representative of the cables. It was: the data cable (Category 6), S/STP and MediaTwist cable. These cables were underwent the standard tests described above and theirs results are appended on the attached CD. In the last part of this thesis there are intrinsic tests of fitness cables to the multimedia signal. Of course, the tests were chosen to measure cable to obtain the most suitable type of cable. However, these tests were not standard measurement. There were simulated occasions from the practise. The goals of this thesis were to achieve the results, to compare them between each other and to make a decision, which cable is the most suitable for the multimedia signal. Definitely, this thesis should be sufficient at least for people who keep track of structured cabling. Eventually, the clear decision was made from these testings. MediaTwist cable is the most suitable type for the multimedia signal, because the signal is being recognized correctly in almost every case even if the long length. The result from the testings in more detail can be found at the very end of this thesis. So, if you are interested, please, continue in reading.
