The second life of selected battlefields of the 30-year war, as possible places of memory
Havrlík, Marek ; Spurný, Matěj (advisor) ; Činátl, Kamil (referee)
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to understand three specific battlefields from the period of the 30-year war as a phenomenon of places of memory and to reconstruct their second life. The time frame of the work is from 1918 to the present, i.e. the year 2022. The selected battlefields are near Rakovník (1620), Rozvadov (1621) and Třebele (1647), i.e. in the area of western Bohemia. Part of the analysis is also the search for continuities and discontinuities in the research interest and its impact. The rate and level of memory, or just the recall of battle events in the given area, is monitored. The battlefield is conceived as a defined area in the landscape, where its fate, transformation and development are monitored. Written sources, published texts, but also documents about activities reminiscent of former battlefields in public space were used for the work, supplemented by a questionnaire whose respondents are the closest residents in the vicinity of the battlefields.
