French and Czech terminology in European legislative texts from the domain: Turnover tax, VAT

The main theme of this thesis is the chosen French and Czech terminology resulting from the European legislative texts focused on the area of: {\clqq} Turnover tax, VAT``. The first part is devoted to the legal text translation theory and to the multilinguism of the Community law. The second part of the work deals with selection, arrangement and subsequent processing of legislative texts in the special program called {\clqq}ParaConc``. These texts were processed in a form of parallel corpus. Consequently I selected 140 key words and their collocations which were finally analyzed from the point of the quality of the translation and their structure.

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of the Czech and French terminology in the European legislative texts in the section : "Bilateral Agreements with Non-Member Countries {--} North America". The first theoretical part attends to the translation of European law into the Czech language and to general instructions for the translations. The second part describes the classification of translations that have been elaborated in bachelor theses of students at the University of South Bohemia. The third part contains the analysis of terminology regarding the accuracy of the translation, using observations of the previous parts. The bachelor thesis is completed in the appendix with a French-Czech dictionary resulting from the created parallel corpus.

Strategies of the translation of French film titles into Czech

The main task of this master's dissertation is to create an outline of various translation strategies of French film titles into Czech language and to identify their statistic significance. It contains films distributed into the Czech republic from 1990 to 2006. It is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with typology and translation of titles, development of French cinematography from it`s beginning to the present day, institutions promoting French films in France and in the Czech republic as well as the appreciation of French cinematography by Czech audience. The second part contains classification of films from the above mentioned era according to their title translation followed by an analysis of every single category, which leads to nine strategies and their percentage analysis.
