Assessment of the state of the environment with regard to the content of risk elements in fish bodies
Jonášová, Simona ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the study of the content of potentially toxic elements in fish bodies in the Jihlava River. The biological samples were first transferred into solutions by microwave digestion. Afterwards, the potentially toxic elements Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Zn in muscle, heart, liver, genital organs, gills and intestine were determined by AAS. A total of 20 fish samples were analysed. In european chub and common bream, the concentrations of elements decreased in the order Zn > Cu > Ni > Cr > Hg > Pb > Cd. In rainbow trout, common nase, common carp, european perch and common roach, element concentrations decreased in the order Zn > Cu > Ni > Cr > Hg > Cd > Pb. In northern pike the following decreasing trend was found: Zn > Cu > Hg > Ni > Cr > Cd > Pb. The assessment of the condition of the watercourse was made according to the individuals that were assumed to have been present in the Jihlava River for more than 1 year. According to these fish species, the contamination of the aquatic environment with elements Cr, Cu, Hg and Ni was demonstrated. All fish samples except sample 8 (perch) were assessed as suitable for consumption.
Changes in rainfall-runoff regime and biogeochemistry in headwater areas
Fraindová, Kateřina
Headwater areas are a very important current or potential drinking water source. Their ecological value for the whole ecosystem is equally important. Headwater areas are sites with minimal anthropogenic intervention and usually the least polluted water sources. Changes in climate and rainfall-runoff (R-R) regime together with water quality in these areas affect the status and availability of water further downstream significantly. It is also one of the most sensitive areas and is an early indicator of ongoing changes. This thesis focuses on the main issues that are already ongoing and are affecting the availability of drinking water significantly. Some of these are trends in R-R regime in the context of the climate change and glacier retreat in headwater areas. As a very good example of a mid-latitude river with a complex rainfall-runoff regime, where a large impact of regional climate warming and glacier retreat are strongly manifested, The Athabasca River Basin was selected for this study. Related to this issue is the river water quality, which is influenced by changes in both temperature and R-R regime, together with the increasing occurrence of extreme hydrometeorological situations such as droughts and floods. The effects of land cover on water quality are also analysed, along with consideration of...
Digital twin skin of the drinking water treatment plant - development and use in practice
Sochorová, Helena ; Andreides, D. ; Hložanka, F. ; Prokopová, Michaela ; Stejskal, O. ; Chalupa, L. ; Šmejkalová, P. ; Dolejš, P.
The contribution presents experiences with the development of a digital twin for optimizing the control of the DWTP within the pilot project in the Železná Ruda locality. The digital twin consists of two components, i.e. digital documentation in the object architecture processed by the reverse engineering process, which is data-connected with the real physical infrastructure (virtual replica of the infrastructure) and a simulation tool based on a mathematical model or a neural network (simulation of the water treatment process). Both components are accessible to the user via a web application, in which one can choose from three operating states (monitoring of the real state - default, simulation of scenarios of operating settings and prediction of pressure loss).

Evaluation of the benefits of reconstruction at the water treatment plant
Zikudová, Markéta ; Nováková, Jana (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is a comparison and evaluation of the condition of the Nudvojovice water treatment plant before and after the reconstruction. The bachelor thesis gradually describes the basic concepts and general principles of treatment of raw water for drinking water. Specifically, the work describes the methods of raw water collection, technologies used in treatment plants, water quality indicators and types of water treatment plants. The work also describes in detail the Nudvojovice water treatment plant before reconstruction, which took place in 2018 and after. The work is mainly focused on the collection of raw water, changes in treatment technology and the quality of raw and treated water. The work also presents other than implemented solutions for drinking water treatment and then compares the status of the original and reconstructed water treatment plant in various respects.
Multifunctional garden ponds and reservoirs
Kraváček, Václav ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of garden ponds and reservoirs with a focus not only on technical design, but also on long-term maintenance of water quality. The main part of the work is devoted to a more detailed description of materials intended for the construction of garden ponds, technical equipment, or the arrangement of individual zones in the pond. Furthermore, the work deals with a detailed description, parameters and character of selected types of reservoirs, such as ponds intended for fish farming, or natural bathing habitats. Last but not least, the work is conceived as a literary search of fundamental knowledge in the field of implementation of garden ponds and their maintenance. The theoretical knowledge is followed by the second part of the work, focused on the design of two variants of the design of a garden pond for a selected investor.

Study of surface water quality in the Ivančice area
Jonášová, Simona ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
Selected physical and chemical water quality parameters were measured at four sampling localities on the Jihlava River. Using UV-VIS spectrophotometry, inorganic forms of nitrogen, chlorides, total phosphorus and CODCr were determined. BOD5 was determined by the dilution method. Na+, K+ and Ca2+ ions, whose concentrations ranged from 5,75–108 mgl 1, were measured by flame emission photometry. Selected metals (Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, Hg, Cr, Fe, Mn) were determined in water by the ET-AAS method. Decomposed sediments were determined by the FAAS method. Concentrations of Cr, Cu, Pb and Ni in water were in the range of 0,05–2,84 gl1. Metal concentrations in sediments ranged from 0,02–293 mgkg1, where nickel concentrations were above the limit. The occurrence of iron and manganese is due to the geological subsoil. For the other elements, anthropogenic source is assumed. From the measured data, the water quality is slightly variable in this locality and is classified as fourth or fifth class, i.e. as highly polluted water.
