The master's thesis deals with possible adjustments in the company's inventory replenishment strategy, which are in accordance with the analyzed factors of the external and internal environment of the company and which respond to the problems arising in the input logistics processes in which this strategy is implemented. The proposed strategy adjustments bring a new perspective on inventory management through inventory optimization and categorization according to differentiated inventory management approach, even in relation to inventories that are subject to deterioration.

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of inventory management. Using ABC, XYZ and ABC / XYZ analysis material items will be divided into nine categories based on their characteristics such as the importance and volatility of consumption. For each category will be defined management strategies so as to obtain optimal inventory levels, while minimizing costs and ensuring trouble-free production.

The first part explains the general concepts of the issue of logistics, stock and storage. In the third part the inventory is divided into classes based on their share of total sales with the help of ABC method and XYZ method to remove problems, such as plenty and lack of supplies.

Main subject of this master thesis is inventory controlling in Siemens Elektromotory, s.r.o. (Ltd), plant Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. In theoretical part are described the essential topics as the controlling generally , then substance of the the inventory controlling and the importation of inventory for the company, their classification and reasons, why is it so important to go in for the inventory controlling. In the practical part the thesis describes current situation in the company and current controlling toolls in inventory field. Then is described the process of developing new inventrory controlling program and the contribution of this program for inventory management. In following part is performed the ABC analysis of invetory acording their proportion on the total consumption. Based on this part are formulated suggestions for setting up new consignment stocks and calculated the influence on the company asset management

The Bachelor´s thesis focuses on the study of effectiveness the inventory management in the manufacturing company. Basic terms such as inventory classification, purchasing, storage and production management are defined in the theoretical part of the thesis. The current inventory management in this particular economical subject is described in the practical part of the thesis. The Bachelor´s thesis analyses the established process that is currently used for the inventory management by using the ABC analysis, the analysis of the inventory turnovers and similar methods with goal to improve the effectiveness.
