The paper solves the issue of a lesson with a form teacher as a specific job of a form teacher at the lower secondary education in the Czech Republic. The objective of the paper is to clarify the manner how form teachers perceive and approach that lesson as their specific job. The theoretical part deals with a form teacher, his activities and competences. He analyses the class as a social group and determines the specifics of the lesson. The practical part describes the research preparation and the results. The investigation was performed using the method of a questionnaire at the selected elementary schools in the Czech Republic and the form teachers were the respondents. The findings are compared with the data from the professional literature and the practical conclusions are derived from the data collected.
