The use of robotic Rovers to explore Mars

This Bachelor´s thesis focuses on three space missions: Mars Pathfinder, Mars Exploration Rover, and Mars Science Laboratory. The main part of these three missions are four rovers (Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity, and Curiosity) that have been sent to the surface of the Red Planet. The thesis is focused especially on the scientific tools of the individual rovers, the technology used and on the most important scientific knowledge gained during the missions on Mars.

This thesis is focused on automated vehicles and contains a brief history of the development of automated vehicles, methods used, as well as devices and algorithms used in such vehicles, and a possible future of autonomous cars. It also lists the most beneficial literature on this topic, while providing additional information or author’s opinion on the matter discussed.

Prevence komplikací v laparoskopické cholecystektomii

Cholecystektomie je léčebnou metodou volby pro symptomatickou cholecystolitiázu, protože odstraňuje orgán, který je místem vzniku žlučových konkrementů a také se podílí na vzniku komplikací, které z cholecystolitiázy vyplývají. Rozvinutí nové operační techniky - laparoskopické cholecystektomie bylo umožněno rychlým technologickým rozvojem moderní medicíny, zdokonalením především optické a přístrojové techniky. Carl Langenbuch provedl první cholecystektomii v Berlíně, Německu, roku 1882. O 100 let později, v roce 1985, Erich Mühe vykonal první laparoskopickou cholecystektomii v Německu. Do roku 1992 již bylo 90% cholecystektomií v Spojených Státech prováděno laparoskopicky. (1) V porovnání s otevřenou cholecystektomií, laparoskopický přístup dramaticky snížil dobu hospitalizace, pooperační bolest a čas potřebný k rekonvalescenci. Avšak rychlé přijetí laparoskopické cholecystektomie, jako zlatý standart léčby symptomatické cholecystolitiázy, bylo spojeno s výskytem peroperačních komplikací. Jednalo se zejména o nárůst incidence poranění extrahepatálních žlučových cest. Toto poranění i dnes představuje nejvážnější komplikaci laparoskopické cholecystektomie. Communications Technology and the New Horizons Mission to Pluto

The aim of this work is to show what communications technology is used in the New Horizons mission to Pluto, provide a brief description of mission’s objectives and emphasize the ability to transmit signals over long distances. This work also deals with the description and the importance of scientific equipment in the spacecraft, followed by information about data transmission and the navigation system of the planetary probe. The relevance and effectiveness of using the Ka frequency band and more modern technologies are also mentioned.

Practical Use of Cloud Systems in Project Management

The thesis is focused on a description of cloud system services and their application in project management of a non-profit organization. Theoretical introduction into cloud systems services is concerned in the first part of the thesis. Consequently features of several best known cloud system services will be described. Described systems will be further compared for usage in a particular project planning. Selection of the optimal cloud service solution will be determined in the conclusion.

My bachelor thesis is focused on issues with social networking services and their influence on modern society. It addresses their history from the very first attempts to create a social networking service to the modern global ones. Later the thesis provides an explanation of the creation of a social networking service and its characteristic traits. Furthermore it outlines problems connected with the availability and overuse of social networking services that are subsequently influencing the human society. The thesis also analyzes the influence of social networks on language, interpersonal communication and cultural adaptation.

Smart Cities

This bachelor's thesis deals with the general introduction into the projects that are needed for the realization of smart cities and technologies implemented in them. In further detail it concentrates more upon the projects that take place in different parts of the world, mainly in Japan and Hawaii. It deals, in particular, with technologically advanced energy solutions, smart grid testing projects which are essential for the smart city itself and implementation of electric vehicles into the grid. Also some of the European smart city projects are mentioned, where the developed technology is tested in real-life cooperation.
