Rekonstrukce vývoje Voegelinovy ideje totalitární vlády

Diplomová práce "Rekonstrukce vývoje Voegelinovy ideje totalitární vlády" mapuje vývoj chápání totalitární vlády Ericem Voegelinem. Voegelin je zajímavý tím, že byl protinacistický politický teoretik, rodilý Němec, který byl nucen za své názory emigrovat z Vídně do USA, kde pokračoval ve studiu totalit. Jeho ideu totalitarismu zkoumám především na příkladu nacistické vlády Třetí říše a její kritiky. Práce je členěna do 3 částí: první část odvozuje pojetí totalitarismu primárně z Voegelinova díla v předválečném a válečném období; druhá sleduje vývoj jeho názorů po válce; třetí část srovnává Voegelina s názory nacistického filozofa Carla Schmitta. Toto srovnání odhaluje kontrastní pohledy na nacismus, totalitarismus a politickou moc, a představuje hlubší vhled do rozmanitosti dobových teoretických postojů k totalitním systémům. Pohledem na oba ideově proti sobě stojící autory si můžeme představit, jak mohla za druhé světové války vypadat intelektuální debata o politických systémech. Kromě politických systémů se Voegelinův názor dotýká i jeho soudobé společnosti a dlouhodobých trendů v ní, jako např. úpadku víry nahrazené tzv. "politickým náboženstvím". Metodika je postavena na principech intelektuální historie.

The Country Image of The Czech Republic from the Perspective of Japanese

The question of this study is how the Japanese imagine the Czech Republic. The aim of this study is to clarify the factors that constitute the image of the Czech Republic through the interview survey. It is apparent that, overall, the respondents do not have an image of the Czech Republic as economically developed. On the other hand, there is a tendency for respondents to consider working conditions and the level of education to be good or at least above a certain level. With regard to security, more people imagine that the Czech Republic is safe than those who imagine that the Czech Republic is not safe. Most respondents also indicated that the Czech Republic has an image of ethnic diversity. The image of Czechs' character is frequently expressed with words such as serious, diligent, hard-working, honest, calm, and laid-back. Many respondents imagined the Czech Republic as a comfortable country to live in. The two factors that seemed to influence the formation of the Czech image in this interview survey are "culture and arts" and "historical background," which includes Eastern Europe, socialism and communism, Russia and the Soviet Union. Weaving two worlds: A Moroccan Narrative of Adaptation in Prague

Immigration or relocation offers a valuable opportunity to explore the impact of a new environment on the cultural repertoire or identity of a specific group. This qualitative study delves into the adaptation experiences of 17 Moroccan nationals residing in Prague. The focus is placed on their adept navigation of cultural differences, the strategies employed to overcome challenges during the adaptation process, and the revelation of the pivotal role played by social networks and support systems in their transition to Prague life. A carefully designed semi-structured interview protocol was used to gather detailed data. The data analysis followed the principles of constructive grounded theory methodology, aiming to develop a deep understanding and identify patterns in the collected information. Through systematic coding and continuous comparison, several significant themes emerged from the data: Cultural Dichotomy: Navigating Two Worlds (a); Bonds of Belonging: Building Bridges with Fellow Moroccans (b); Chasing Integration: Struggles and Strategies in Prague (c), Unveiling Identities: Negotiating Individuality in a Foreign Land (d).

"Stay Safe/Stay United/Stay In Touch" - Experiential communitas, belonging, and participation in Prague's electronic dance music scene during the COVID-19 pandemic

With the social distancing measures related to COVID-19, the party life in the Czech Republic went through major changes. Offline parties were no longer possible within the governmental framework. Practices that previously were self-evident became impossible to maintain. Attendees were pushed to rely on the online possibilities of scene participation or invent novel modes to stay connected. Through an analysis of both online and offline participation, this paper examines how their sense of community and belonging to the electronic dance music (EDM) scene changed during the pandemic. The data was collected via multiple methods. The core of the research is semi-structured interviews, fieldnotes, and netnography. Moreover, data from an online questionnaire was used to triangulate and thicken the findings. This research aimed to outline the core features of a party and the attendees' practices and values that construct or re-enforce belonging and feeling of community. For the analysis, a theoretical framework building on the concepts of communitas by Victor Turner and connectedness by Tim Olaveson was used. Identity and Euroscepticism at odds with EU institutions and Grand Strategy. Abstract: During a very volatile time in which uncertainty ranks high, the EU faces a multitude of challenges in pursuit of maintaining its hold with the state members, promote and overlook the continuity of its interests both continentally and on an international level, all while overlooking the constituent members' economic, diplomatic and political sectors. Under such pretense, many questions arise on how the EU handles all of this, for that specifically I composed this thesis that combines different topics in different fields to have a better understanding at where the EU is heading as an international organization. Identity is a driving factor in identifying and self-categorizing with the EU for all of elites, citizens and even corporate bodies. Another phenomenon that can be brought up when speaking of identity is Euroscepticism where identity can have unbalanced grounds after a streak of crises that the EU has gone through, and last Grand Strategy as an academic field is most interesting to understand the EU's strategic initiatives. Němci na Slovensku během druhé světové války

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na německé obyvatelstvo žijící na území Slovenska během druhé světové války. Krom toho zkoumá, jakým způsobem se po vyhlášení slovenské autonomie proměňovalo jeho postavení a jakou roli přitom sehrávala Deutsche Partei vedená Franzem Karmasinem. Tato politická strana se snažila o utvoření společné karpatoněmecké identity a kontrolu veškerého německého společenského života. Práce analyzuje na příkladu politiky, hospodářství, kultury či školství, jak se jí dařilo naplňovat tento ambiciózní záměr a zda byla úspěšná v získávání sympatií slovenských Němců a Němek. Následně se věnuje i dopadům druhé světové války, retribučnímu soudnictví a složitému vyrovnávání se s nacistickou minulostí.

While outlining their practices and values that construct, or re-enforce belonging and feeling of community, I provided a critical reading of Olaveson's (2004) theory of "connectedness as collective effervescence/communitas" to see whether it can be a workable frame to analyse the party attendees' scene-related experiences in the extreme conditions of a pandemic. Úmyslné a neúmyslné fabulace v orálně-historických výpovědích

Diplomová práce se bude zabývat tématem, které má za cíl analyzovat výpovědi narátorů z pohledu vědecké psychoanalýzy. Práce se zaměří také na paměť, která stojí u zrodu lidských myšlenek a případné fabulace. Nebude se zabývat pouze striktně danými lžemi, ale také zapomínáním, které stojí za upravováním či nechtěným přikrašlováním pravdy. Diplomová práce se bude snažit docílit toho, do jaké míry je paměť zodpovědná za nepřesnost informací a jak chápat lež, která byla vyřčena za plného vědomí a s jasným úmyslem fabulovat a skrýt skutečnou minulost.

Historický vývoj koncepce Univerzálního základního příjmu

Cílem diplomové práce je zaznamenat historický vývoj politické a politologické koncepce univerzálního základního příjmu, pokusí se jej zmapovat od jeho počátků až do současnosti. Práce bude zpracovávat nepodmíněný základní příjem tak, jak ho popisoval Thomas More a Johannes Ludovicus Vives s tím, že se současně zaměří na jejich pozdější kritiky z řad myslitelů, kteří ovlivnili politiku, ekonomii a filosofii. Na tyto teoretiky pak naváže moderními myšlenkami UZP, které pak budou porovnány s předchozími autory. Diplomová práce ukáže vývoj a prohlubování myšlenek univerzálního základního příjmu prostřednictvím komparace koncepcí jednotlivých autorů.
