Comparison czech ODS and german CDU

The topic of my diploma thesis involves comparison between the largest Czech right-wing political party, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), and the largest German conservative general political party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) which, together with the Christian Social Union (CSU) comprises a faction (CDU/CSU) at the federal level. The major objective of the thesis is an analysis of development and programmatics of both political parties and subsequent comparison thereof, I.e. identification of any common, similar and different characteristic features. The thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter One deals with the theory of political parties, more strictly with the very concept of political party and its formation, its definitions, how it is divided, what roles it plays and what types of political parties there exist. Chapter Two is devoted to the Civic Democratic Party. I describe its formation, subsequent development and, finally, its programmatics. The individual objectives or principles are clearly shown on specific items of the political programme of 1995 and the current election programme "Jointly for Beller Life" of 2006. HIV Prevention at Schools

Writer introduce basic facts about HIV/AIDS disease in first chapter. She explains difference between HIV and AIDS and she gives information direct to this issue. She describes types of transfer, protection methods, testing types, infection stages and related treatment. Short excursion to history about first occurrence of the virus, way of spread, numbers of infected in present. In next chapter she introduce tools which Czech Republic use to cover this issue of HIV/AIDS. As is National program against AIDS, National referential laboratory for AIDS or AIDS centers. Program Health21 is included. It's aimed to certain number seven. She also goes through some selected pragues organizations, united in non-govermental union and she presents theirs projects in primary prevention at schools. She informs about presentations, peer programs and she concentrates on differences. Than she presents two projects Choose life from ACET and Chat about HIV and AIDS from the Czech AIDS Help Society. Which she desribes in detail and than evaluate and compare due to aim she set up.

Implications of inflation differentials on the dynamics of GDP

Inflation differentials within a monetary union translate into differentials in real interest rates. Consequently, their effect (either direct or indirect, through the wealth channel) on the GDP is pro-cyclical in the short term. In the long term, accumulated inflation differentials worsen the real exchange rate and so after some time their anti-cyclical effect will prevail. Concerning the dynamics of the GDP, longer and stronger cycles can be expected. After a theoretical description of the mentionned mechanism this paper quantifies individual effects for the EMU. It also deals with expected changes in cycles' properties after the adoption of Euro. GMM and Kiviet estimates of the panel data model generally prove the statistical significance of the considered effects. Subsequent results show positive relationship between the absolute magnitude of the inflation differentials on the one hand and the growth of the amplitude of the cycles, increase in their length and increase in time needed for the economy to return to the equilibrium after a demand shock on the other hand.

Old and new regionalism exemplified by the Andean Community of Nations

The history of regional initiatives in Latin America is very rich and varied. Immediately after declaration of independence, there was a tendency to form a political union. Integration groupings developed in the twentieth century are trying with various success rate to enhance mutual trade and political ties in the region. These efforts can be divided into two periods, the first, the old regionalism, from the early sixties to the debt crisis in the eighties and the second period, the new regionalism from the turn of the eighties and nineties. The object of this work is to draw a comparison between these regionalistic trends in Latin America - old and new regionalism - and be exampled by integration group. As the best example to compare the regionalistic trends was chosen: the Andean Pact (the Andean Community of Nations).

The road of Poland to the euro area

This thesis is dedicated to the evaluation of Poland's readiness to join the euro area. The evaluation is based on an analysis of real and nominal convergention. Next part of the thesis is the convergention strategy of Poland for the years 2008-2010 and the timetable for adoption of euro. In the theoretical part it describes the basic characteristics of economic and monetary union, evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the adoption of common currency and the Maastricht criteria. Next, the thesis evaluates the current state of implementation of convergence criteria i Poland. Poland meets the nominal convergence criteria except for participation in ERM II., but forecasts for the future indicates a deterioration of others criteria.

Perspectives of Eurasian Union developement.

Collapse of Soviet Union caused a snap in relations between ex-soviet states, but simultaneously started the new wave of integration collaboration. This wave brings us such integrations as CIS, EurAsEC, Customs Union, Common Economic Space. Eurasian union, which is planning to become fully functional in 2015, becomes the most real of what happened in this field before. Main goal of diploma thesis is to find out, how could Eurasian union work in connection with organization moments of other deep integrations. Can Eurasian union become a deep integration? Other goal is to find out economic possibilities of integration development due to results of research, and suggest improvements of present situation. Last goal is to discover the way of developing of external trade policy and to determine the role of Eurasian union in the world.

The function of the exchange rate mechanisms ERM II in the Czech Republic's accession to the euro zone

The object of this thesis is the revision of the exchange rate mechanisms ERM II from the point of his effect on the Czech Republic's integration process. In this thesis, there are analyzed benefits and risks cussed by ERM II participation and inferred conclusions relevant for the Czech Republic. This thesis is moreover dealing with hypothetic run of the participation of Czech koruna in ERM II and its incidence on fulfillment of exchange rate criterion. Except that there are analyzed reasons for current negative attitude of Denmark, Great Britain and the Northern Ireland and Sweden to third period of the Economy and monetary union.

African union and its role in ensuring security and stability in Africa

My thesis analyses the opportunities and the efectivity of the African union by ensuring security and stability on the African continent. It reffers to the establishment of the organisation, its ideological basis, organs and mechnisms which were set up to fulfill its role as a guarantee of security in Africa. The thesis also shows the development of the relations between the AU and other African regional organisations so as the relations between the AU and the UN in the security area. It also analyses the positive and negative aspects of this mutual cooperation. The end of the thesis is dedicated to the concrete approach to the solution of the humanitarian crises in Darfur. It shows the cooperation with the UN in the form of a hybrid mission UNAMID and the challenges and problems which have to be currently faced by the mission.
