Building a predictive model for bankruptcy
BÜRGER, Pavel
Thesis deals with complex process of creation of new bankruptcy model for predicting business failure, while this process involves selection of quality sample, verification of classification accuracy of already existing bankruptcy models, profile analysis and finally the derivation of specific equation of bankruptcy model. The derivation is performed by using two selected statistical methods, discriminant analysis and logistic regression. Two bankruptcy models Bürger's index DA12 and Bürger's index LR12 were derived by using the mentioned statistical methods. The new models distinct advantage is, unlike already existing and renowned bankruptcy models, that they are focused on classification of micro and small enterprises in terms of Czech Republic, while classification accuracy one year before failure is by individual models 74.8 % and 81.87 %. Derived models have clear interpretation (no grey zone) and easy calculation, which brings a possibility for micro and small entrepreneurs to check their business partners in terms of failure prediction.
Special methods for observation of failure of plasma-processed materials
Mušálek, Radek
This paper presents examples of several methods, which may be used for failure study of materials prepared by plasma processing - plasma spraying or plasma sintering. Microstructure of these materials significantly differs from that of bulk construction materials which limits use of conventional methods. Typically, because not enough volume of material in one piece is available for testing. Aim of this paper is to ilustrate benefits of using combined study of materials changes during loading and their macroscopic properties
The impacts of gas failure in a restricted area
PALKOVIČ, Marek
This thesis deals with the effects of failure of gas in the administrative district of the municipality with extended powers České Budějovice. The aim of this work is to determine potential impacts of an emergency through the qualitative research and to answer the two research questions whether the failure of gas in the administrative district was serious interference in the running of the company and whether the season of the year would affect the impact of the gas failure. At the beginning of the theoretical part of my work I just gave the definition of the critical infrastructure. I focused on the basic information about natural gas. For the purpose of this work I needed to describe the transmission and distribution system of the Czech Republic and South Bohemia Region together with underground tanks. Then I defined the concepts: state of emergency in the gas industry, regulatory groups of customers and announcing consumption degrees. With he Crisis Plan of the South Bohemia Region, I focused on companies which consume the natural gas and chose ten of them. Taking into account the criteria of the natural gas usage, the type of company, its importance and how strongly could the gas failure differ in summer and winter. By selection of the companies I have gained in every respect a little different respondents, whom I asked seven questions. These questions have been purposefully drawn up to allow using the replies to those to deduce results. They examined three given branches. These branches are focused on: the impact on the sphere of the gas use, impacts of natural gas failure with regard to the possibility of substitution in current season and the consumption degree, which is already threatening to the company. Results in the first branch showed that companies using natural gas for heating and water heating would suffer the most. Most of the respondents use the natural gas for these purposes. The integrated rescue system, objects for food production, water treatment plants, crematoria, institutions with special care and other facilities would be out of operation. Surprisingly using natural gas for cooking does not cause so serious problem in case of gas failure. Here is the most opportunity to at least partly use the electricity, especially some electrical appliances. The other branch of the effects of the gas failure took into account the season. The result clearly confirmed the dependence of the impact of the failure on the season and determine the twofold effects in winter period. The only exception was The Funeral Home České Budějovice, where the impossibility of burning and extreme summer temperatures facilitate faster decomposition of the death bodies. Last branch examined which level of consumption is for the company already threatening. All but one of the customers have a high consumption degree, these are 9, 10 and the highest consumption degree of emergency. For the Heating Plant České Budějovice, Inc. the announcement of the first consumption degree was already threatening. This is somewhat unexpected contention, since the object of heating plants belong to a regulatory group A. This group of objects is able to seamlessly switch to some alternative fuel. The explanation is questionable. According to the plant manager, the limited supply of natural gas would cause the excess of emission values of coal-fired boilers, which is unacceptable and it is fined. According to the results it was already possible to answer the research questions, which are proved positive in both cases. In conclusion, I would like to recommend further explore of the issue of inclusion The Heating Plant České Budějovice in the regulatory group A. I would like to point out some errors in The Crisis Plan of South Bohemia Region, when the usage of natural gas at two objects was made different than actually is. In my opinion, I find errors in such an important document as unacceptable.
The influence of positive thinking on the quality of life of people of working age people of working age
BLÁHOVÁ, Štěpánka
This work deals with positive thinking and its impact on quality of the life. The theoretical part describes positive thinking, what affects it, and if is the possibility to change the thinking. It further describes concept of quality of the life and with it the most associated term the Health. In following chapters, I deal with concepts of optimism, pessimism, and the conclusion of theoretical work form chapters about failure, success and goals. The practical part contains data obtained from the questionnaire, which is aimed on finding the quality of life. To determine the quality of life was used assessment method named SEIQoL (KŘIVOHLAVÝ, 2001). Another part of the research includes interviews with selected individuals and finding a way of thinking by using the scale of prevailing way of thinking (Slezáčková, 2012). In selected individuals are results of SEIQoL methods compared with the results of the scale prevailing way of thinking.
The comparison of Bergmann and Annaburger traffic systems in basic agriculture industry companies.
HAVLÍK, Josef
This thesis compares two tractor traffic exchange systems, Bergmann and Annaburger, in two companies of basic agriculture industry. Tractor traffic systems are composed of towing and exchange vehicle which can be a carrier of several types of vehicle body. Bed, spreader and cistern are concerned in this case. Engineering chracteristics and operational experiences of every single exchange system were compared. Futher functionality, time demandingness of body exchange, machine operating comfort, failure rate and service security were also compared. One of the most important criteria for ranking of exchange systems is usage of every single body and capital and operating costs analyses which are also a part of this thesis. Both of exchange systems are on a high technical processing level but the Annaburger company offers better control system in basic version then the Bergman company. As a result we can say that the Annaburger machines are ingeniously constructed and are more popular as well. Costs benefit analysis has been done. Exchange traffic system Annaburger HTS 22.79 was found to be cheaper by 22, 82 CZK for one carriage kilometer and by 10,05 CZK for ton and kilometer then expensive competitive Bergmann Vario440.
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis in nursing
HOŠINSKÁ, Petra
The Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a very important preventive method which enables to determine possible failures and suggest preventive measures to avoid possible failures before they may happen. The prevention of those failures is very important but it is necessary for the Czech medical care providers to change their attitudes and thinking. It is the medical staff who must do their best to provide quality and safe care, otherwise the provided care quality and safety will never be enhanced. The management support is crucial in this respect. When the support is missing, the improved failure prevention on a long-term basis cannot be achieved. The objectives were to examine nurses´ awareness of FMEA and whether nurses use this preventive method in practice. The interviewed nurses and chief nursing officers were asked two research questions: 1) Are nurses informed enough on the FMEA method? 2) Do nurses (use the method in practice? The results obtained are as follows: Out of eight nurses interviewed only one nurse, who had taken part in a seminar focused on this issue, was familiar with the FMEA. The FMEA is not used in nursing process in hospitals in which the research was conducted. The objectives were achieved. Two hypotheses were set: H I: Nurses are not informed on the FMEA method, H II: Nurses do not use the FMEA method. The purpose of this research is to enhance the nursing staff´ awareness of the possible failure prevention. The results of the research will be offered to managements of the hospitals involved in the research with the aim to incite the preventive measures implementation into nursing process. This will lead to the possible failure risk reduction. Both hospitals involved in the research are interested in the survey conclusions.
Risk management of nursing care
HANZLOVÁ, Eliška
The aim of our work was to map the process of identification, evaluation, and implementation of activities directed at prevention or management of nursing safety risks in organizations providing urgent ward care in the Czech Republic from the point of view of top management of nursing. Our work traced a quantitative research. For collecting data we used a non-standard questionnaire made up only for the purposes of this work. The questionnaire was distributed by the top representative of nursing management (ward sister/deputy in charge of nursing care) of the above specified health centres. The research was carried out in the period February - April 2008 and for assessment of the results obtained we used 110 questionnaires. For the purposes of our work we determined six hypotheses. Hypothesis 1 saying that hospitals create conditions for the development of safe organizational culture proved true. For the future it is essential to discuss this topic more profoundly, as well as to get rid of the fear of punishment for acknowledging a mistake and accept the fact that we all make mistakes, therefore we must minimalize their frequency and consequences and above all learn from them. Hypothesis 2 stating that hospitals watch risk factors for occurence of emergencies proved true, too. As a negative finding we can consider proving hypothesis 3 saying that hospitals do not reveal particulat risks of nursing care until the elimination of their consequences. Uncovering insufficient use of proactive strategy led us to a more detailed description of a FMEA method. Hypothesis 4 saying that hospitals have created a procedure for occurence of emergency and hypothesis 5 - nursing personnel is obligated to observe and report at minimum three kinds of emergencies related to nursing care proved true, too. The last hypothesis 6 presenting the fact that hospitals do not make their patients/clients involved in prevention of mistakes of medical workers was also confirmed by the results, but it was pleasant to find out that 43,3% of respondents stated that this possibility is being used at their place. We suggest to include the prevention of mistakes in the nursing process whether by means of particular nursing diagnoses or global education of patients/clients. As a suggestion of a feasible content of education we translated and adapted a document SPEAK UP into Czech named 7P.
Material defect cost by large plastic deformations
Marek, Pavel ; Brož, P.
The main aim of this paper is to demonstrate the use of algorithms to tackle the large plastic deformation problems of engineering structures. The source materials are presently to be a tool for putting together the full probabilistic methodology, especially the strength of SBRA method, to check the above characteristics of the structural systems.
