Understanding of reading text by pupils on the first grade at the primary school

This diploma thesis was called Understanding of reading text on the first level of basic schools. My thesis is focused on reader´s literacy issue, because recently this topic is often discussed. I decided to make a research that is concerned to this problem. The research was carried out on the first level of the basic school in Ledenice. Fifty pupils from five classes were tested. These pupils filled special tests after reading a given text. The goal of carried research was to find out the level of reader´s literacy. At the beginning of my research some hypothesis were set. These hypothesis could be largely confirmed after the research.
Software Piracy in the Environment of Different Cultures

The aim of this thesis is to statistically determine the dependence rate of software piracy in the cultural foundation of the country and other factors. Data obtained from internet were the resources of my work. They were from the results of different surveys and case studies. The data contain values of individual indicators, each for a maximum number of countries. The nature of the collected data leads to the analysis of quantitative variables such were selected correct statistical methods. Dependence of the quantitative variables was measured by simple linear regression. The rate of this dependence determines the correlation analysis. In my case Spearman's correlation coefficient was used. Any dependence was investigated with a pair of indicators. In each of pairs was as the dependent variable rate of software piracy. For better understanding I have used the graphs. From my thesis, I expect evaluate past and current situation about software piracy in the Czech Republic and in the world, and that shows influences the amount of computer crime.
Analysis of the influences on the Czech book market and its future prospects

The thesis Analysis of the influences on the Czech book market and its future prospects discuses the nowaday status of books in society, its possible causes and effects, and also tries to suggest possible solutions. The first part focuses on the influence of literary culture on society and its benefits, the primary theme is literacy and its development in the Czech Republic. Further there is an analysis of the influences that may impact the status of books in our culture. There are also described possible alternatives and potential remedies to stimulate readership in the community. The thesis ends with an analysis of the current state of the book market in the Czech Republic and the possible options how to improve this situation.
Impact of internet on education

The content of this work is to warn on issues of internet impact in education. Usage of information in this process plays a crucial role. At the beginning, work deals with the analysis of basic concepts in close relation to the Internet and information society. The concept of education is logically relevant and connected with a tendency to its measurability. Several aspects are also discussed such as digital divide or informational and computer literacy and how these aspects affect use of the Internet. At the same time space is devoted to the electronic communication or electronic education as key elements with a great degree of influence in the internet environment. The last section describes the view of both sides in the process of acquiring knowledge - students and teachers. Including a survey, matched with a summary of the work and accompanied by recommendations, which direction should the education takes effort.
Influence of teaching at secondary school for financial literacy

Annotation The aim of this work is to evaluate whether the current system of education at secondary schools contributes to the growth of financial literacy. This work is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the description of financial literacy in the Czech Republic, in this part is used the descriptive method. Next part is about description of a survey of the Ministry of Finance and insurance company ING attempt. The second part deals with Framerwork and School education programs and school autonomy in their creation, the teaching methods used in teaching and core competences that students should acquire during their studies. The last part is a description of practical teaching tax issues at the Czechoslovak Academy of Commerce, Dr. Edvard Benes. This is a comparison of two different teaching methods and their evaluation in terms of efficiency in the impact on financial literacy. The following is a summary and comparison of results of the Ministry of Finance, ING's insurance and practical parts.
Evaluation of quality information resources on Internet

The aim of this paper is to point out, what information we come into daily contact, their quality, credibility, and how or what criteria to evaluate these properties. It focuses mainly on information sources that are presented via the Internet. The work consists of four chapters, two of which are considered crucial. These are the chapters entitled "Ethics in information resources" and "Evaluation of quality of information sources." In the first of the chapters are named as the duties and powers of the parties to work with information that impacts on information ethics violations, etc. The main benefit of chapters dealing with the evaluation of the performance criteria which would allow us to facilitate the evaluation of the quality of information sources on the Internet. In conclusion, this work indicated the evaluation survey, which aimed to find out how the public is familiar with the topics of the chapters.

The work also deals with analysis of financial literacy of students on basic schools and it evaluates available literature from area of financial education.

Support for computer teaching for the elderly

This bachelor's thesis deals with developing educational multimedia software application for the elderly, which would make them familiar with the basic principles of computer work and its control. The first section focuses on current state of computer literacy among the elderly in the Czech Republic. The next part deals with computers teaching for seniors and with opportunities in this area. The second part deals with the approach to creating educational software applications for the elderly. I describe the problems associated with ageing process, and on these basics, I describe recommendations how the application for the elderly should look and control. The third part is devoted to the creation of multimedia educational software applications for the elderly. I deal with choosing development environment and technology, creating the appearance, handling and learning text. I also focus on application testing and its final publishing. Finally, I consider the possible use of this software application for computer teaching.
