Concrete with fly ash for XF3 and XF4
Máša, Jiří ; Ťažký, Martin (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with concrete using fly ash as an active ingredient for environment XF3 and XF4. Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part, is focused on basic information on power generation of fly ashes and solves the existing knowledge about concrete with partial asphalt replacement and then evaluates their properties both in fresh and condensed state. Below are the world-wide knowledge of the behavior of these concrete. The second part deals with the experimental verification of these findings contained in the theoretical part. The aim of this work is to verify the durability of concrete with fly ash for XF3 and XF4 environments.
Replacement of directives with regulations on the example of legislation concerning protection of personal data within the EU
Suchanová, Kateřina ; Svobodová, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Král, Richard (referee)
The objective of the master thesis Replacement of directives by regulations on the example of personal data protection legislation in the EU is to describe the process of simplification of EU legislation based on the study of relevant political and legislative texts, especially with emphasis on the process of replacing directives by regulations. The first part of the master thesis focuses on the development of the process of simplification of the EU acquis, and then on the analysis of regulations that have been adopted since the late 1980s, and which partially or completely replaced the regulation contained in the directives. Based on the analysis of the proposals and the preambles to the adopted regulations, the reasons for the replacement were subsequently specified. The reasons are further categorized and described. The main research question in this part of the master thesis was to determine whether the replacement of directives by regulations is an appropriate tool used to simplify European Union legislation, whether it eliminates problems that may arise during the implementation of directives governing the issue and what are the main reasons that are specified by the EU legislators as a justification for the adoption of a new replacement legislation. In the second part, the master thesis...
Milling of pre-sintered ceramics using CAD / CAM
Ščasnovič, Erik ; Pouchlý, Václav (referee) ; Kaštyl, Jaroslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on determination of proper pre-sintering temperatures of zirconia ceramic blanks intended for CAD-CAM milling. Functional properties of milled and sintered samples are also discussed. Experimental part is aimed on determination of properties of blanks which affect directly the CAD-CAM process. Another solved issue is definition of mechanical and physical properties of sintered bodies. Final properties are compared with properties of ceramic blanks made from standard ceramic powder. Dental crown, dental three-unit bridge and partial knee joint were prepared successfully. The tests of geometric accuracy were performed on dental crown as well as on partial knee joint replacement with using 3D scanner.
Development and dynamics of the palatal and pharyngeal dentition in sterlet
Novotná, Štěpánka ; Soukup, Vladimír (advisor) ; Oralová, Veronika (referee)
Dentition is a key vertebrate innovation showing not only great morphological diversity, but also different maintenance or replacement of functional teeth. Most extant vertebrates replace their dentition through addition of new teeth from deeply invaginated epithelium, i.e. the successional dental lamina, due to presence of dental stem cells. However, in some early branching lineages of ray-finned fishes (Actinopterygii), new tooth germs arise from the adjacent superficial epithelium without the presence of the successional dental lamina. Whether the two types of dental development in vertebrates are equivalent and whether comparable dental stem cells play role in tooth replacement is currently not satisfactorily evaluated. This Master thesis aims at describing the development of palatal and pharyngeal dentition of a member of an early branching lineage of ray-finned fishes, the sterlet sturgeon (Acipenser ruthenus). The sterlet dentition is fairly dynamic. The teeth are replaced without the successional dental lamina, however, this replacement shows characteristics similar to those described in vertebrates with the successional dental lamina. A marker of dental stem/progenitor cells, Sox2, is localized in the outer dental epithelium of the predecessor tooth in the vicinity of the adjacent taste...
Development of the first metatarsophalangeal joint replacement
Barták, Vladislav ; Popelka, Stanislav (advisor) ; Stehlík, Jiří (referee) ; Krbec, Martin (referee)
The work provides a comprehensive overview of the issues hallux rigidus with a focus on the first metatarsophalangeal joint replacement and development of our own implant. The development was built to perform anatomical studies, the results were the basis for the construction of hemiarthroplasty and total arthroplasty. It was necessary to measure the marrow cavities of the distal part of first metatarsal and proximal half of proximal phalanx. We measured the size of the metatarsal head in two planes, and its tendency to diaphysis on the dry preparations. Through these studies we obtained valid data for the construction all components of both hemiarthroplasty and total arthroplasty of specifying the size spectrum. We have verified and then corrected the shape of implant treatment during post-mortem tests on the models. The result is a new type of arthroplasty with their own design to guarantee restoration of joint function and coated with a high osteointegral potential. In clinical studies, we performed 22 implantations of hemiarthroplasty and one implantation of total arthroplasty. Clinical results suggest the fact that the implant will be successful. However the ultimate answer to this question will provide long-term study. The other results presented with a detailed anatomical description show to...
Study of rehabilitation of the selected part of the sewer network
Novák, Tomáš ; Malaník,, Stanislav (referee) ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is a rehabilitation study of the sewer network on Vídeňská street in the city of Brno. The first part of the thesis includes an accompanying review including basic data about the sewage gutter, including the characteristics of the affected area with a detailed description of the geological and hydrogeological rates. This is followed by a technical review, which consists of hydrotechnical calculations and overal summary of the construction-technical condition. The subject of the following part is a proposal and description of several varying solutions for the rehabilitation, including, particularly, trenchless technologies. Further on, all of the proposed variants are evaluated based on technical, economical and environmental impact. Finally, all the observations are summarized and a final recommendation for the way of solving the rehabilitation is carried out.

The Energy of a Flying Object Necessary for Damaging the Vehicle Windscreen
Havlík, Ondřej ; Tylšar, Vladimír (referee) ; Bradáč, Albert (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis entitled "The Required Energy of a Flying Object to Damage a Windscreen" covers the historical development of glass as a raw material and its further use as a key material for the automotive industry. In the following chapters, the thesis provides an analysis of a windscreen in general including the material composition of various windscreen manufacturers, the distribution according to the accessories used in the windscreens, and the various options of placing a windscreen in a car bodywork. The homologation of a windscreen and the procedure for replacing or repairing a windscreen after a damage is also covered. Lastly, the experimental part of the thesis describes the process of testing the required energy of a flying object to damage a windscreen.
Optimization of the lifecycle transformer 110/22 kV
Suk, Jiří ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Krbal, Michal (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to describe the situation in transformation 110/22 kV in distribution area E.ON East. Next to describe the current practice in the replacement of 110/22 kV transformers and mention the possibilities of replacing the machines at the end of their lifecycle with respect to the development of the load of the individual transformer stations in the distribution area. An integral part of the thesis is also the economic evaluation of premature replacement of transformers from two different perspectives. The next point is to look at the current possibilities in the lifecycle lengthening of these devices and to suggest a method for monitoring the state of paper insulation to estimate the remaining lifetime of the transformer. The last point is the evaluation of the transition of a significant customer from a voltage level of 22 kV to a voltage level of 110 kV, including related technical and economic issues.
