FIALOVÁ, Zuzana
Lifestyle of immigrants and recognized refugees Migration can be defined as more or less terminated process moving of people among places which are determinated by state borders. It is the process when person or group of people leave their land to find better place for living. Each person has his or her own lifestyle and it is one of the basic factors that influences the quality of living. The lifestyle is formed during life when is a person in interaction with enviroment. The theory is further split into 6 main chapters that involve all issues of lifestyle of immigrants and recognized refugees. The history of migration to the Czech Republic is analyzed, asylum processing and the most important lifestyle of national minorities is mentioned. In the last chapter of theoretical part integration of immigrants and asylum seekers in the Czech Republic is mentioned. The practical part is devoted to the research and it was dedicated to lifestyle of immigrants and asylum seekers in the Czech Republic and in their domicile of origin. The aim of the thesis was to compare lifestyle of immigrants and asylum seekers in the Czech Republic and in their domicile of origin. The hypothetical assumption suggested that lifestyle of immigrants and asylum seekers is the same in the Czech Republic as in their domicile of origin. The regions of the research were South Bohemian region, Plzeň region and Ústí nad Labem region. To prove or invalidate the hypothesis a method of questionnaire was used. 100 people were accosted and they received questionnaire to fill in it during four months. I received 64 questionnaires back. After evaluation of the questionnaires I came to the result that people who had filled the questionnaire have the same lifestyle in the Czech Republic as in their domicile of origin. The hypothesis was proved. Public, students of social school and their educators will be introduced with the results. I would recommend to focuse individual social work because each person has different needs. Easygoing integration into Czech society coheres with reaction of Czech people as well. My work could be used as text book referring about national minorities living in the Czech Republic. At the end of the thesis there are some supportive documents related to my work. It is neccesary to know that the more we can help foreigners to integrate themselves and we adopt them as our fellow-citizens the faster they will feel at {\crqq}home{\crqq} in the Czech Republic.

Faberová, Jana ; Pělucha, Martin (advisor) ; Kadeřábková, Jaroslava (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the influence that suburbanization processes have on a historic city. Namely it is the city Klecany that the thesis focuses on in the Prague -- East region. Suburbanization can be observed in the Czech Republic since the second half of the 1990's, but its specific influence depends on a particular municipality. Therefore the goal of this thesis is to compare theoretical assumptions about suburbanization with its real consequences in Klecany, especially in the sphere of transport, economy, municipal budget, development, population structure, social and political environment etc. One part of the thesis focuses on measuring suburbanization in Klecany using the so-called classic formula and also an opinion survey was made among the former and the new inhabitants.
Economic Integration of Immigrants to Canada in the 21st century
Poddaná, Barbora ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Vymětal, Petr (referee)
This Diploma Thesis aims to analyze the economic situation of the immigrants to Canada and evaluate the success of their integration to the Canadian labour market and society. The current immigration policy is based on the undiscriminatory point system by which Canada tends to maximalize the incoming human capital. The Diploma Thesis is divided into three parts, the first one tries to define the basic concepts and terms of the topic, the second one illustrates the historical development of the immigration policy and the last chapter examines the barriers and problems the new immigrants are facing to. The previous analysis should confirm or disprove the following hypothesis: the maximalization of the human capital is not optimal for the longterm goals of the immigration policy, mostly because of the barriers that the immigrants are facing to. They often do the job for which they are overqualified, therefore the waste of the human capital occurs and the immigrants are not able to integrate properly to the labour market. Forthcoming attitude towards the recognition of the foreign credentials, the accelaration of the administrative procedures and the willingness to provide more information to the potential immigrants prior their arrival to Canada, might bring an improvement to the integration process.

The empirical part is focused on the research of lifestyle of immigrants and asylum seekers in the Czech Republic and in their countries of origin. The objective of the thesis is to compare lifestyles of immigrants and asylum seekers in the Czech Republic and in their countries of origin. The research took place in the town of České Budějovice, the subregion of the South Bohemian region. Questionnaire method was used to collect the research data. The questionnaire was anonymous and contained 25 questions. The introductory questions were focused on respondents´ identification data, through other questions lifestyle factors and health status were investigated. Total 100 questionnaires were distributed to the institutions providing assistance to immigrants and asylum seekers. 55 questionnaires were filled in and returned, the return rate was 55%. The objective of the thesis was accomplished, the lifestyle of immigrants and asylum seekers in the Czech Republic in the South Bohemian region was compared to that in their countries of origin. In my opinion it is very important to focus on foreigners integration into the Czech society, because integration does not only mean for foreigners to get rid of their habits, but may also enrich our society. People come to our country in search of better living conditions and want to start a new life here. Therefore it should be part of state policy to ensure equal access and equal opportunities for immigrants. I suppose I could be beneficial to make foreigners familiar with the current situation in the Czech Republic and to draw their attention to difficulties they may encounter while seeking a better life.
