Which information is included in the alarm call of Red-backed Shrike \kur{(Lanius collurio)}?
MINAŘÍK, Tomáš
The first complex study of the alarm vocalisation of the Red-backed Shrike (Lanius collurio) is presented. Following on from previous studies five stuffed dummies ? Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus), Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus), Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius), European Magpie (Pica pica), and Common Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus) ? were used to elicit antipredation behaviour. Seven different types of alarm calls are described ? besides the commonly used ?chak?, five mobbing calls and one that possibly warns conspecifics.

Mobbing - The psychical terror at the workplace
KARTÁKOVÁ, Pavla
The thesis deals with the problem of mobbing within the Czech-German Company. We tried to specify this particularly unpleasant phenomenon, which is closely linked to work life. It contains various forms of discrimination and abuse as well as other forms of behaviour, which ruins the affected person both mentally and physically. In theoretical part we concentrated on explaining concrete terms in the context of present literature and in the process we tried to stress the differences between usual conflicts and constant psychological constraint at workplace. We mentioned typical symptoms, causes and forms of mobbing. Further on, we compiled victim and abuser profile. We noticed the consequences of mobbing for both the participants and the working place climate. We also found it very important to stress the advance of elimination and successful coping with psycho terror at workplace which primarily aims at improvement of interpersonal relationships.
Selected components of violence from the view of caring staff
PŘIBYLOVÁ, Jana
The title of my thesis is `Selected features of violence from the point of view of medical staff{\crq}. Whereas in the past violence in medical care was more likely to occur abroad, at present is has a growing tendency even in our country. Violence is not only a physical attack but occurs more often in verbal form. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part deals with explanation of the term aggression, types of aggression, personality of aggressor, aggressive patient and aggression management. The following part deals with interpersonal relationships in health care, relationships between a nurse and a patient, a nurse and another nurse, a nurse and a doctor. The term mobbing, its causes, aims and phases, are explained in the next part. Consequences of mobbing and defence against it are also mentioned. The objective of the thesis is to make a survey of frequency and types of attacks against medical staff by patients, nurses and an employer. Three hypotheses were set up which relate to given objectives. The first hypothesis assumes that probability of attack against medical worker varies depending on the workplace. The second hypothesis assumes that the most frequent type of violence is verbal abuse. The third hypothesis assumes that nurses are more threatened by mobbing than by bossing. The research set comprised of nurses and paramedics of Teaching hospital in Plzeň, Emergency medical service of the Plzeň region and the Centre of helicopter emergency medical service in Plzeň. The research was carried out by quantitative method, the questionnaire technique. The results were visualised using a pie chart and bar charts in MS Office Excel 2007. The objective of the thesis was accomplished. The research results confirmed the first hypothesis, i.e. that `probability of attack against medical worker varies depending on the workplace{\crq}. Differences between individual types of workplaces were proved, most attacks by patients occur in Anaesthesia-Resuscitation Department and Intensive Care Unit and by medical staff in Emergency medical service. The second hypothesis, i.e. `the most frequent type of violence is verbal abuse{\crq} was also confirmed because verbal abuse outnumbers physical attacks. The third hypothesis, i.e. that `nurses are more threatened by mobbing than by bossing{\crq} was also confirmed because the research results show that more problematic relationships are among individual medical staff than between medical staff and their superiors. All three hypotheses were confirmed and proved that violence in medical care does occur and that it occurs in considerable amount.
Influence of starvation on willingness to risk in Great tit (\kur{Parus major}) and Blue tit (\kur{Parus caeruleus})
TUMOVÁ, Petra
In this work, I investigated influence of starvation on willingness to risk for food in presence of a predator. Experiments proceeded in winter when birds are not influenced by fear about clutch or brood and therefore the food becomes their priority. I tested birds in laboratory conditions where is possible to monitor and regulate food availability. Tits were tested for stuffed model of dangerous hunting specialist sparrow hawk (Accipiter nisus), nest predator jay (Garrulus glandarius) and harmless similar-sized bird pigeon(Columbia livia f. domestica). A control experiment without a model was conducted too. Each bird was tested for given model replete and hungry and each bird was tested only for one model. We were interested in differences in reactions to individual models and the influence of repletion rate; if the behaviour was different between replete and hungry birds, or in the {\clqq}accustom`` phase and in experiment itself. We also investigated, if there are differences in behaviour between Great Tits and Blue Tits.
Antipredator defence of Red-backed Shrike (\kur{Lanius collurio})
VLAŠÁNKOVÁ, Anna
I studied the antipredation behavior of the Red-backed Shrike (Lanius collurio) in one breeding season. In random sequence I placed imitation of Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) in three distances from the Shrike´s nest - 2, 4 and 10 meters. I compared dofferences in Shrikes reactions. I also tested influence of others factors of environment on mobbing intensity - age of breeds, size of clutch, sex, amount of surrounding shrubs and size of nest shrub
