Modern technologies and their application to tourism

The main objective of this work was the identification of modern technologies in tourism. The secondary objective was to apply these technologies in tourism and propose measures to improve the situation. First, it was necessary to study literature and write the literature search. Then was carried out a field survey. The results of the investigation were used to determine how are the selected technology used by tourists. These results were also the basis for the proposed measures. These should serve businesses better adapt to the current requirements of its customers.
Graphic design of mobile web

This Bachelor thesis deals with the graphic web design which is optimized for mobile phones. The introduction is about the properties of mobile phones and its users in a way that is important to a website design. The mobile web and its possible alternatives are described after the introduction. After this preface is a chapter devoted directly to graphic design of mobile website (general principles, specifics, layout recommendations). This knowledge is used to design a graphic design on a specific case-study. For create graphic design mobile site was chosen Integrated Study Information System at the University of Economics, Prague. A research was made among the users of the information system. It focused on using a mobile phone to visit Integrated Study Information System and which applications of this System, students use the most. Based on this research, information architecture was determined and a graphic design of basic screens of school information system was designed according to this information architecture. In the end of the thesis the final design is presented to selected students who will evaluate the information architecture and the graphic design of the selected screens in order to show the correct evaluation of research among students and the final outcome meets students needs.
Windows Phone 8 mobile platform

This bachelor thesis describes to mobile operating system Windows Phone 8. That was introduced in half of the year 2012. The main aim this thesis is to introduce operating system Windows Phone 8. It includes all its parameters, features and technologies, which are necessary for future application development. Partial goal is to explain the possibilities and processes of the development not only for Windows Phone 8 but also for Windows 8. Another crucial goal is the illustrative example of using new technologies in applications. These goals were accomplished by gathering information from foreign sources, because Czech sources concerning this system are not insufficient. This thesis is divided into following parts: firstly describes the functions and news, that are available in the system, manners and principals of designing applications are following, in the next section is explained designing pattern and manners of multi-platform development and in the end is showed, how it is possible to implement functions such as: voice commands, geolocalization, wallet and wireless information transport. In this thesis are summarised all information that are necessary for introducing system Windows Phone 8 beginning and also advanced application developer. In the Czech Republic there has not already been published any publication that would focus on mobile system Windows Phone 8.
The use of mobile applications in the enterprise

The main objective of diploma thesis is to describe and analyze the issue of mobile devices and mobile applications, focusing on their usage in the information system of enterprise in terms of deployment rules for security, mobile device management and enterprise operation in implementing mobile policy in to business. The diploma deals with aspects related to the deployment of mobile enterprise policy in terms of choosing the right operator, a suitable mobile platform, mobile device management and applications to ensure optimal information security in company. The aim is compare Czech operators and most frequent mobile operating platforms in terms of business needs and determine the most appropriate mobile operator and mobile operating system suitable for the implementation of mobile policy in to business. Another goal is analyze and describe the method of mobile device management and applications, and to ensure their safety and universally describe the main advantages and disadvantages of deploying mobile policy in to business. The practical part is focused on the public inquiry to identify and analyze the current situation of enterprises in implementing mobile policies in the Czech Republic. Survey results are analyzed, described and summarized in the recommendations and alternative solutions for Czech companies for next years.
Design of methodology for implementation of mobile device management in a BYOD environment

This master thesis is focused on topic of using mobile devices in work environment of enterprises, specifically on using mobile devices owned by employees. The thesis is divided into two parts. First part of the thesis describes benefits and risks of using mobile devices in enterprises while allowing usage of mobile devices owned by employees and compares individual mobile platforms in terms of security. Also there is a comparison of individual mobile devices management solutions in terms of security in this part of the thesis. Second part of the thesis is focused on methodology of mobile devices implementation in enterprises and their security. Methodology describes activities required for implementation of mobile devices in enterprises. At the end of this part there are security recommendations which are suitable to apply to mobile devices in enterprises.
ERP and mobile technology in practice

The present thesis deals with the use of mobile technologies in the follow-up to ERP systems. Goal is to analyze the integration of mobile technologies into the corporate environment. The thesis at first analyses the existing state, reasons for and benefits of use of mobile technologies in the corporate sphere with the use of the research methodology of semi-structured interviews. This part is concluded with the author's evaluation of investigated cases and with identification of other related types of solution in practice. The final part of the thesis is dealt with the case study in a Czech company. This part of the thesis starts with an analysis of the current state of information and communication technologies in the company on the basis of consultations and visits to employee workplaces; subsequently it specifies opportunities for improvement of support of selected corporate processes for which possible solutions are proposed in the final part of the thesis. The thesis brings some still unpublished information with regard to the use of mobile technologies in the business environment.
Windows Phone7 Application with Backend on Windows Azure

The main objective of this diploma thesis is to design and develop a cloud hosted service that allows developers of games for Windows Phone 7 platform to extend their products with social and competitive aspect using Platform as a Service solution Windows Azure for hosting the backend of this system. The first part of the thesis analyses systems that are available on the market and that are providing similar services for the target platform. Based on this analysis, functional and general requirements for the future application are specified in the second part. Based on these requirements, use case analysis is made. The third part of the thesis is dedicated to description of the most important features, APIs and specifics of the Windows Phone 7 software platform. The fourth part is dedicated to Windows Azure as a Cloud platform both in terms of most important services, their characteristics and APIs used to utilise them and in terms of their business and pricing conditions. The fifth part addresses the architecture and the most important implementation details of the application. The final part contains the user guide for both the Windows Phone 7 application and for developers interested in using the library containing the API during the development of their game. The output of this thesis is the designed and implemented application with client-server architecture ready to have its backend deployed in Windows Azure environment and to have its frontend deployed on Windows Phone 7 devices. The client part of the system is comprised of a library intended for developers of games, which encapsulates the API needed to access the backend on the Internet, and a graphic frontend intended for end users. The server part, which contains most of the application logic, has REST interface. The applications architecture allows future development in terms of new functionality and expansion on more client platforms.
Overview of platforms for mobile application development

This bachelor work deals with the evaluation of mobile platforms from the perspective of mobile applications developers. The aim of this thesis is to establish criteria for mobile platform evaluating from the per-spective of novice developer, who wants to develop applications in his free time, and to use them for comparison of selected mobile platforms so that the reader will be able to ad-just them to his preferences and then choose the best option for him. This aim was achieved by synthesis of information from Czech and foreign sources, under which were created my own recommendations for choosing a platform for mobile applications devel-opment. The thesis is structured as follows: first is captured the market share of different mobile platforms in the Czech and worldwide mobile operating systems market, then are described three major mobile platforms (Android, iOS and Windows Phone) in detail, focusing on the specifics of mobile application development, in the next chapter are defined evaluation criteria according to novice hobby developers and the conclusion is based on comparison of selected mobile platforms by the selected criteria. This thesis provides developers with the necessary information and recommendations for the choice of platform for developing mobile applications. In the Czech Republic has not been yet published any work, which compares so comprehensive the most important mo-bile platforms and evaluated them from the perspective of mobile applications developers.
Android v.4 platform

In my bachelor thesis I focus on mobile operating system Android and specifically on its version Android 4.0, which is designed for smart phones and tablets. The thesis has several parts. In the first part of thesis is devoted to the Android platform as a whole, its architecture, features and previous versions. In the second part I deal with Android 4.0 itself, its differences from previous versions, new features and the unification of the Android platform. The third part contains information about events around the Android platform and the statistics on this platform. The last part, which is practical, contains results achieved through the evaluation questionnaire.
Mobile Marketing in Czech Republic

Main topic of the Master's Thesis is mobile marketing in Czech Republic and the goal is to describe development of mobile devices, provided services and usage in marketing and marketing communication. Theoretical part is concerning development of the mobile devices and services where each topic is followed by a case study. Practical part contains quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative on-line based research was conducted on sample of 100 deliberately chosen users. Main goal of this research was evaluation of average user experience with mobile marketing. Qualitative research was conducted by guided discussion with experts in the area of mobile marketing. Main goal of the research was assess actual scope of the use by marketers in context of the situation on the Czech market and discuss future development of this area.
