The role of the book in evolution of the children's imagination

The master thesis deals with the importance of the book in evolution of the children's imagination. The first part includes short introduction to problems of children's imagination. The second part is engaged in ontogeny of child from prenatal period to the middle childhood and in progress of key competences. It analyzes selected psychological approaches, which had the imagination as a subject of the research. The thesis explains and defines basic terms and processes of the imagination. It deals with a specific phenomenon of the children's imagination and with the evolution of the imagination. The third part introduces typical children's literature, directs on the traditional fairytale and it specifies problems of the literary characters too. It describes the historical development of the Czech book illustration, importance of the illustration in books for children and it also describes children's drawings. The fourth part applies all of previous pieces of knowledges into the work experience in kindergarten. It also describes relations between child and school or child and book. The final part of the master thesis includes summary of the information. [Author's abstract].
Old Czech legends and their current treatment

Resumé The thesis is focused on the processing of old Czech legends in literature for children. The aim is to show how the writers adapted legend the children. The initial treatment the Old Czech Legends by Alois Jirásek. The theoretical part deals with legends, its types, legends in the folk tradition and legends in children's literature. The practical part is interpreted five books of legends from children's literature. Interpretation shows different ways that authors use to approach reputation child readers, or even shift the topic, if any. The conclusion summarizes the findings arising from the interpretation.

This bachelor thesis deals with analysis of novels Muscha and Mano. Der Junge, der nicht wusste, wo er war. They were written by German author Anja Tuckermann. In the theoretical part books are set into historical and sociological context and their genre is discussed. The practical part of this bachelor thesis focuses on analysis of the novels based on their structure - outer and inner composition. The thesis concetrates largely on the representation of intercultural prejudice. In the final chapter the books are compared and contrasted and it is commented on their position within children's literature.
Oskar Wiener and his creation for children

The subject of this thesis is the German writer and Prague citizen Oskar Wiener, one of the city's lesser known authors from the turn of the 20th century. Special attention is paid to the author's writing for children, works that play a significant role is his overall creative output. The first chapter formulates the subject matter and establishes the goals of the thesis. The second chapter takes a look at the life of Oskar Wiener through the use of archive material, the recollections of friends and autobiographical elements in Wiener's work. The third chapter discusses German literature in Prague at the turn of the 20th century, including the historical background and a presentation of the literary groups of this period, especially the Jung Prag group and its literary tendencies. The fourth chapter is devoted to the Prague neo-romantics, a group to which Oskar Wiener belonged. The fifth chapter provides a brief overview of Wiener's overall work, with an emphasis on his activities as collector and agent. The sixth and seventh chapters then take a closer look at Wiener's writing for children: chapter six introduces his specific works and chapter seven places them in the general context of modern pedagogy. Using Children's Literature as a Basis for the Dramatic and Educational Process in Nursery Schools

The Framework Education Programme for Preschool Education is a legislative curriculum document which establishes the basic requirements for the state preschool education. The educational objectives and requirements are binding for the teachers. However, the way in which those objectives and requirements are met, is fully in the hands of each nursery school. This diploma thesis illustrates one of the possible ways of educating preschool children, namely the dramatic education. The dramatic education is presented here not only as an educational method but also as a style of pedagogical work. This particular style respects individuality and originality of each child with the intention of developing his/her potentials and with the effort to equip the child with necessary social skills. The practical part of the diploma thesis offers insight into the authentic dramatic and educational process which explores topics of human life. During this process, each child goes through a full-fledged personal and social development by means of dramatic activities, which are based on topics of literary text
Violencia and social issues in Colombian children's literature

This dissertation focuses on a critical approach to Latin-American children's literature, its evolution and its particular issues. It is based on the analysis of Colombian realistic fiction for children and young adults. The aim of this work is to show how Colombian children's literature has established some particular features that make it distinguished in Latin-American children's literature. The methodology is based on literary studies along with specifications of children's literature theory in perspective with the Colombian political and social situation during the twentieth century. The dissertation adresses elements from literary analysis: The narratology (V. Propp, and G. Gennette) the literary criticism (M. Bakhtin, and the concept of ideology) plus cultural studies in Latin America (Á. Rama). The research takes theoretical concepts from children's literature, related to pedagogy (T. Colomer), aesthetics (M. Nikolajeva), ideology (P. Hollindale) and historiography of children's literature in Latin America: A. Rodriguez, 1993, 2010; M. Muñoz, 2009; B. Robledo 1997, 2012 & L. Correspondence between a word and a picture in children´s literature

This thesis Correspondence between word and image in Children's literature is focused on the analysis of selected titles in terms of literary and illustrative. The analysis should determine the methodological criteria in terms of aesthetic, factual and ethical contribution of the book as a whole for the pupil of the fifth and the sixth grade of primary school. The analyses are conducted in terms of literary and illustrative titles on The fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, Lottie and Lisa by Erich Kästner and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. The conclusion of the work provides educational options to work with these titles in lessons of Czech language and literature and Art.
The Theme of the Other World in Douglas Adams´ series The Hitchhiker´s Guide to the Galaxy

This thesis deals with the interpretation and analysis of Adams' series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1979) with regard to crucial themes of journey and space as "the other" world. The theoretical introduction will be dedicated to reflection on the meaning of these themes within the science fiction genre. The analysis itself will focus on the particular motifs in Adams' work, the use of irony, the characteristics of the main characters and the function of the environment.
Literary Story for Children in the Context of Modern Time

The theoretical part defines the problems of nowadays children and gives information about the current state of children's literature. The practical part presents the findings from their families and practice in kindergartens. The aim is to provide parents and educators stories from the current literature that enrich and interest children.
