Zplynování biomasy v termickém plazmatu

The gasification of biomass in thermal plasma is discussed and the processes are analyzed. Heat needed for production of syngas was determined from heats of wood combustion and thermodynamic analysis of all processes in the reactor. The kinetics of the process of gasification in plasma flow is analyzed. Experiments with biomass treatment in plasma reactor with hybrid gas/water-stabilized arc are described. Effects of plasma power, material feed rate and flow rate of reaction gases were studied. Syngas with high content of hydrogen and carbon monoxide was produced. No presence of complex hydrocarbons or tar was detected.

The gaseous product from gasification (producer gas) can be effectively utilized in a variety of ways including power generation, production of chemicals, fuels for transport and substitution of natural gas for heating. The gasification technology, needed gas composition and cleaning, tolerable contents of impurities, toxic compounds and heating value of the producer gas are determined usually by the end user of the gas.

Integration of Biomass Gasification with High Temperature Fuel Cells

This contribution gives information about possibilities of efficient production of fuel gas for high temperature fuel cells (SOFC or MCFC) by biomass gasification, esp. in fluidized beds, about efficient fuel gas cleaning, requirements and practical limits of fuel gas purity and effects of basic operating parameters on the efficiency of fuel gas production. The overall efficiency of power production based on biomass gasification with steam cycle, combined cycle and cycles exploiting high temperature fuel cells is estimated.
Determination of Biomass Concentration on Inorganic Carrier

The aim of this work have been to develop method of determination of biomass concentration of cells immobilized on inorganic carrier, based on measuring of 3D-fluorescence spectra. A model bacteria strain was Pseudomonas sp. 2, isolated from soil contaminated by PCBs. The method was calibrated by weighing of dry mass. We have identified wavelengths of excitation and emission light at which the intensities of fluorescence were proportional to the concentration of biomass within the growth curves of cells planted on biphenyl or biphenyl with Delor 103 as sole carbon sources.
