Transsexuality and legal aspects of the change of sex
Šoltísová, Eva ; Císařová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Sovová, Olga (referee)
RESUMÉ Transsexualism and the Legal Aspects of Sex Change Transsexualism is a problem which most people consider to be sociological, psychological or medical. But transsexual people probably see on many occasions that it is also a problem of law. From the very first moment these people have to deal with a lot of inconveniences, such as disclosing their disorder to their families and friends as well as to their employers and officers, a lot of administrative problems, including changing their names, changing birth certificates and also problems such as using public restrooms during their "real-life test" or accomodation in a hospital or in a prison. In addition to that, as with every social minority, there is wide room for discrimination, hate crimes and in some countries even prosecution by the state. The sex reassignment can cause some other legal questions. Is there a right to a legal sex change for transsexual people? Can they marry after the sex change? Should they be able to adopt children? Should there be a right for a transsexual person to be registered as the father of a child who was born as a result of artificial insemination by donor? What happens with the birth certificate of a child when one of the parents changes sex? Lets look at this issue from another point of view. What are the conditions...

Vnímání Jaderné elektrárny Temelín jihočeskou populací v proměnách času (1993-2003)
Těšitel, Jan ; Kušová, Drahomíra ; Bartoš, Michael
Nuclear power plant of Temelín is a phenomenon influencing almost all aspects of life of local population. The article is based on comparison of selected results gained within two sociological surveys, one conducted in the year of 1993 and the other in 2003. Relation of local population to the nuclear power plant was one of key issues addressed in both surveys. Perception of the nuclear power plant proved to have changed over time. The shift can be named „from danger to anxiety“. The main factor keeping population anxious about nuclear power plant seem to be a fact that the plant is visible from everywhere, representing thus „visual contamination of environment“ of some kind.

Sociální determinanty zdraví a ekonomiky: Globální finanční krize 2007/08 a její dopad na blahobyt Evropanů
Scheier, Samuel ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Mevenkamp, Nils (referee)
Objective Objective of this study was to investigate the impact of the recent economic crisis of 2007/2008 on the subjective well-being and health status in thirteen European countries. Methods The European Social Survey (ESS) database was searched for individual health and wellbeing indicators and the database of the European Commission Eurostat for economic indicators. Data representing social determinants like education, housing and employment status and others before, during and after the crisis were retrieved. Eurostat data were used to analyse economic indicators and health outcomes on country level. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the changes in the different parameters over time. Regression analysis was performed to demonstrate relations between subjective well-being and different social determinants. Results Between 2006 and 2012 all countries experienced changes in their populations' subjective well-being. From 2006 to 2010 (crisis) the number of people with good or very good subjective well-being increased in France, Ireland, Belgium and Portugal by 0.6%, 1.0%, 1.2% and 6.5%, respectively. In Denmark and Spain this number remained basically stable. In Sweden, the United Kingdom, Finland and Germany the percentage of the population with good or very good subjective well-being decreased by 1.1%, 2.7%, 1.7% and 2.8%, respectively. Regression analysis demonstrated a significant relation between good and very good subjective well-being and level of education, main activity during the last 7 days, satisfaction with life, satisfaction with household income, main source of household income, gender and age. This relation differed for various factors and countries. In none of the countries satisfaction with national health services and satisfaction with current state of economy within the country was found significantly related to subjective well-being. The main amendable determinant correlating with a higher degree of subjective well-being is good education. The correlation between education and subjective well-being got stronger after the crisis than before or during the crisis. Conclusion Economic development does not have a uniform impact on subjective well-being. Education is a major amendable determinant influencing individual well-being. We could not find evidence for any significant impact of the organization of the healthcare services or social system on the subjective well-being.

Genealogical structure and breeding behaviour in Pipistrellus nathusii (Mammalia: Chiroptera) model population
Zieglerová, Anna ; Hulva, Pavel (advisor) ; Bartonička, Tomáš (referee)
56 6. SUMMARY This paper summarizes the results of a study in applying molecular techniques to analysis of social biology and the genealogical structure of bats. A population of Pipistrellus nathusii was investigated in the model Protected Landscape Area Trebonsko (South Bohemia). Systematic research of this species has been ongoing there since 1996. Unlike other species, which have been studied using similar research methods, this is a form whose annual life cycle and area distribution are characterized by seasonal long- distance migration of the entire population. Its social structure and mating system are not generally noted in species with similar characteristics. The object of the analysis was a group of 304 individuals, including 45 resident males, 98 adult females and 161 juveniles, captured in 3 Summer colonies during two consecutive seasons. From 15 verified micro-satellite markers, 4 of them, which a displayed standard high level of alelic polymorphism (24-85), were chosen for routine use. It has been shown, that the micro-satellite analysis employed enables highly reliable identification of individuals, and the identification of family relationships. The distribution of documented paternity illustrates that the multiple reproductive effect of certain males and the increased proportion in...

Monitoring of the deformation stress state of the rock mass is a prerequisite for the verification of unapproved new mining methods hall-pillar and its further application in the Czech part of the Upper Silesian coal basin. This mining method is designed on the basis of experiences and practices that are verified in different natural conditions and depths below the surface and is therefore essential for the verification of conditions for the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Basin based on geotechnical monitoring. The present report is prepared on the basis of a contract no. 942/50/10, where the Institute of Geonics, v.v agrees to make periodic evaluation of monitoring data napěťodeformačního state of the rock mass. In accordance with the aforementioned agreement, the message is processed in the six-month period and continues in the interim report III / 2015 (Waclawik et al. 2015) passed buyers in April this year. Interim results of the geotechnical monitoring, such as the experience gained during the first conquest dobývky V show specifics of natural conditions in trial operation unapproved new mining methods hall-pillar.

Giuseppe Verdi : Otello : Prague and Pilsen production
Karásek, Jan ; Kusnjer, Ivan (advisor) ; Hajóssyová, Magdaléna (referee)
The last opera but one by Giuseppe Verdi, Otello, does not belong to often performed ones in the Czech Republic. Despite this fact there were several successful production of Otello in the last years. To these good ones belong Pilsen production ( The Josef Kajetán Tyl Theatre, 2007) a Prague production ( Prage State Opera 2009). In Otello, Verdi´s masterpiece (premiere 1987 in La Scala, Milan), the composer applied new approach.Contrary to former numbered scenes he created complex interweaving of all opera components. As a theme served Shakespeare´s tragedy that remains actual even after four hundred years. Yet Verdi and his librettist Arrigo Boito changed the story a bit - or adapted it to the opera scenes to be more precise. All this was successfully capitalized by directors of both above mentioned productions Ladislav Štros in Pilsen and Lubor Cukr in Prague.Prague production, which was a renewed production of the successful one from 1991, was distinguished by a brief, pure scene, which catalyzed the characters and the singer´s performace. Even though the performace or the singers in Pilsen production was not always meeting the Prague standards, the scene was richer and the stylization fitted the director´s intentions. Both productions were well appreciated both by experts and by the audience. The fact they were performed for several years can serve as a proof.

Jews in Finland during World War II
Dvořáková, Jana ; Šedinová, Jiřina (advisor)
Before and during World War II there was almost no Anti-Semitism in Finland, and in fact, the Finnish government refused to condone the Nazis' anti-Jewish platform. When Finland also refused to cooperate with the Soviet Union in late 1939, Soviet troops attacked Finland. As equal Finnish citizens, the country's Jews joined the army to fight the Soviets; some 15 were killed and many others were wounded. After holding out for several months, Finland surrendered to the Soviet Union in March 1940 and was forced to hand over some of its territory to the Soviets. In 1941 German troops came to Finland; Finland then joined Germany as its ally in the attack on the Soviet Union in order to recapture the land it had lost to the Soviets in the Winter war. Some 300 Jews (Finnish citizens and refugees from other countries) served in the Finnish army during the Continuous war. The German authorities requested that the Finnish government hand over its Jewish community, but the Finns refused. Reportedly, when SS chief Heinrich Himmler brought up the "Jewish question" with Prime Minister Johann Wilhelm Rangell in mid-1942, Rangell replied that there was no Jewish question in Finland; he firmly stated that the country had but 2,000 respected Jewish citizens who fought in the army just like everyone else, and thus closed the...

Wall Paintings in the Rotunda of St. Catherine in Znojmo
Louženská, Monika ; Kubík, Viktor (advisor) ; Ottová, Michaela (referee)
Kopie - Bakalářská práce_Louženská Monika.txt ABSTRACT The romanesque rotunda of the St. Catherine in Znojmo is one of the most important monument in Czech Republic and Central Europe. From 1962 it's registered as National Cultural Monument. Its unique murals with uncommon content have been subject of discussions of many specialists for almost two centuries and still haven't been satisfactorily explained. Over the past centuries the colour of the paintings have lost its brightness, but individual elements of the Romanesque style still remain legible. Its verticalism and linearism is related to the European expression of Byzantine - like linear style from around 1100 A.D. Paintings with closest relations to this style were found in Salzburg and Prüfening near Regensburg in second third of the 12th century. The decoration of the rotunda can be divided into two parts. The first is ecclesiastical, the second secular. In the ecclesiastical part belongs christological cycle in the nave of the rotunda (Annunciation of Our Lady, Visitation, Nativity and Annunciation of Shepherds in combination with Joseph's Dream, Adoration of the Magi, Killing of the Innocents and Flight to Egypt), paintings in apse (Majestas Domini in Deesis and figures of 12 apostels in arches) and in cupola (the quartet of Cherubs and...
