The evaluation of the financial health of the firm in relation to financial statements compiled according to the Czech accounting standards

This thesis is focused on the evaluation of the financial health of the firm in relation to financial statements compiled according to the Czech accounting standards. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the information ability of financial statements, because these statements are the basic source for financial analysis. Its results are dependent on the quality of information, which are contained in the financial statements. The problem of the financial statements is the possibility to influence them to desirable direction.In the theoretical part is described the final accounts and there are characterized individual statements and the weaknesses of the financial statements. The last chapter of the theoretical part includes the description of the financial analysis. The practical part evaluates the financial health of the definite company. There are identified the factors, which have the influence on the financial health. The impact of these factors are demonstrated on the changes of the value of the financial health´s models.
Creative accounting methods, models and their use

The aim of this work is to formulate the most famous creative accounting techniques in relation to selected items of financial statements, including their impact, and further to evaluate selected creative accounting models. These models are used for detection of possible manipulation in reported accounting data. The aim is also to determine their potential as well as their limitations. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the essence of creative accounting. The second part provides an analysis of selected items of financial statements in relation to the creative accounting practices. The thesis also includes a case study that addresses the issue of the identification of manipulated financial statements. Financial statements are an important source of information. When the data contained in them are modified, they supply inaccurate and false information. Then this fact may have a significant impact on users´ decision.
International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs)

This thesis deals with International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs). The objective of this thesis is analyzing the status of IFRS for SMEs within the legislative context in the Czech republic. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains basic information on international accounting harmonization and its development, theoretical bases of IFRS for SME, defines the conditions for recognition, measurement and reporting of assets, liabilities, income and expenses. The next chapter of the theoretical part contains composition of financial statements. The practical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter contains a comparison of items with the Czech accounting legislation. In the next chapter, the balance sheet of a particular enterprise is converted to the statement of financial position. The last chapter of the practical part of the thesis is devoted to the questionnaire survey. The objective of this survey was to determine, whether companies are informed of the reporting within the IFRS for SME.
Evaluation of business intention

This thesis will evaluate and critic a business intention in the catering industry. The thesis will firstly explain the theoretical knowledge and how it is applied in practical terms, furthermore real data will be collected and used to form a business plan. The company's financial position will also be evaluated to help determine their cash flow and help predict future growth. This will help form an analytical conclusion on the company's overall performance measured against ROE, EVA, net present value and highlight their current value and investment potential.
Audit and creative accounting

The contemporary generation lives in a modern globalized world that comes through the economic recession last few years. Just this recession often forces management of the companies to modify achieved financial results to meet the expectations of the owners. External auditors provides to the owners level of confidence, that the submitted financial statements respect the principle of truth and fair view of accounting and that the owners can rely on the financial information. The main objective of this thesis is to explain the role of the external audit and audit procedures performed. It contains theoretical and practical part. The attention is focused on the 4th stage of the audit -- substantive and control testing. The paper also contains practical advises for users of financial statements. I also tried to clarify the concept of creative accounting practice and its basic methods.
Harmonization of financial statement within the European Union

The aim of this thesis is to comparasion the defferences in the reporting of financial inforamtion by the Czech accounting legislation and IFRS. In the theoretical part, the author deals with the main differences in these two accounting systems. In the second part, practical part, the author deals with compare the financial statements of business. In the last part assess I the main differences.
Comparison of Accounting Statements Under Czech Legislation and Under IFRS/IAS.

The objective of this thesis is to compare financial statements prepared under Czech law (?ČÚL? or ?CZ GAAP?) and financial statements prepared under international accounting standards IAS/IFRS. The theoretical part elaborates on the formal comparison of financial statements prepared under ČÚL and under IAS/IFRS and the objective of the comparison is the contents, form and methods used for preparing financial statements under the two legislations. General accounting in the Czech Republic is governed by Act 563/1991 Coll., on Accounting and IAS/IFRS is similarly governed by the Framework. The other part discusses some selected IAS/IFRS standards that are applied in a certain company and they are compared with Czech accounting standards. The practical part of the thesis discusses the transformation of the financial statements prepared under ČÚL to financial statements under IAS/IFRS in a certain company. As a result of such transformation, certain lines disclosed under the balance sheet and the income statement show different figures and they have impact on the closing amounts and the profit/loss of the company. The outcome of the practical part are reports prepared under ČÚL and under IAS/IFRS and in the end I assess the influence of different methods used on the reported data. I focused only on two most important parts of financial statements, i.e. balance sheet and income statement.
Display of lease contract in leaseholder's financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Czech accounting legislation

This bachelor's thesis deals with finance lease from leaseholder's point of view in light of IFRS and Czech accounting legislation. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is devoted to basic characteristics of the lease, its historical development and division and also advantages and disadvantages of leasing financing. Content of the second part is the current IAS 17 adjustment of finance lease. The third part targets the regulation in the Czech Republic - accounting and tax point of view. The fourth and also the last part of this thesis presents practical application of the theory from previous two parts in form of complete draft of a real lease contract in leaseholder's point of view.
Audit in banking

The bachelor thesis is focused on audit in banking. In the beginning there is the explanation of differences between internal and external audit, attitude of auditor toward a bank and relations among bank, auditor and central bank. In the next part there is the determination of control system and procedures during the review of financial statements and related regulations. Regulations are described in connection with capital adequacy and compliance as well. Necessary part of audit is formal requirements as for example the audit verdict. In conclusion is explained, what basic regulations created in Czech National Bank are, and how CNB exacts them. Audit is also important for CNB's supervision at the distance. In the end of the chapter there is short note of internal audit in central bank to allow readers the comparison with previous information.
