History of the Sokol Club I. Smíchov

Title: The History of the Sokol Club I. Smíchov Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with history of Sokol Club I. Smíchov since its establishment till year 1940. The aim of this thesis is not only to describe its history and activities but also shortly give account of Sokol Club. The part of thesis attends to history of the town of Smíchov which is definitely connected with Sokol Club Smíchov. The thesis called "The history of the Sokol Club I. Smíchov" is based on research on historical sources and literature. Mostly I insisted on archival documents from The National Museum, The Collection of Physical Education and Sport and on archival documents of Sokol Club I. Smíchov. From literature I used publications about history of the town of Smíchov and about history and persons of consequence of the Sokol Club. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part is divided into an introduction and an analysis of archival documents, literature and working methods. Next part describes the history of the town of Smíchov, the history of the Sokol Club and biographies of Miroslav Tyrš and Jindřich Fügner, too. There is also described the history of Sokol Club I. This work concerns the activities of the District Action Committee of National Front in Brandýs nad Labem between the years 1948 and 1950. In particular it deals with the topic of communist repression against differently thinking individuals, who took an active part in public life, political parties or associations such as Sokol. It details the formation, structure and functioning of action committees and their relation to the national committees. Next, the work concerns the committees' intervention in economics or in parliamentary elections in 1948 in relation to the repressions against action committees.

The work describes by a semiotic approach a radical break in body consciousness leading to the birth of new knowledge and new models of behaviour. These changes are followed both on the level of discourse (by an analysis of Sokol press) and on the level of a social practise. Formation of Sokol is described at the end in the cotext of contemporary religiosity.

The History of Physical Education and Sport in Hluboká nad Vltavou

This bachelor work deals with the history of physical education and sport in Hluboká nad Vltavou. The roots of it date back to 1893, when the Sokol unity was established in the town. The work is split into seven chapters. The first chapter describes history of the city and is followed by chapter about the physical education and sport since the creation of Sokol until 1918. The following chapter summarizes history of sport between years 1919 and 1945. The chapter includes expansion of the sportsman unities. Fourth chapter describes the breakthrough of new sport branches and the development of the existing ones in the post war in years 1946 to 1956. Next chapter deals with the communism age and it captures a rise of new sport branches in years 1957 and 1989. In sixth part author describes history of TV and sport since the formation of the Czech Republic to the present (2016). The last part lists sport events that are consisted of sports not usually held in Hluboká nad Vltavou. It talks about the 25k run around Hluboká, motorcycle racing, yachting, horse races and canoeing České Budějovice - Praha.

This thesis is about the history of physical education and sport in the town Dačice from its beginning, i.l. from the establishment of sporting unity Sokol in 1871 till the present days. The thesis is divided into five parts where the first one is devoted to the history of the town Dačice. The next parts are divided according to different time periods. The second part deals with development history of the sport sector until the end of the First World War. The third part examines the period from 1918 to 1945. The following part describes after war period to 1989. The last part is about modern sport from 1989 to the present.

The history of physical education and sport in Soběslav from the very beginning, when the P. E. Unit called Sokol was founded, to the year 2016. My work is divided into 3 parts. The first part of my work is circumscribed between 1885 1945 and depicts about P. E. Units called Sokol, P. E. Units called DTJ and also it is about each Sport Clubs in Soběslav. The second part describes foundation and development of the sport clubs in Soběslav between 1945 1989. The third part of my Bachelor Work describes historical development of the sport clubs from 1989 to 2016 and talks about the most important ones in Soběslav.

In the first part it describe history of Czechoslovakia Church. The second part of work is based on terminology of free-time. Third chapter is focused to Vodňany town - to its history, culture and religion issues. In fourth chapter are describe free-time activities from their beginnings in 1920. Last chapter is focused to Czechoslovakia Church in Vodňany and its share on free-time activities in the town.
