Fittings of heating systems
Klus, Lukáš ; Adam, Pavel (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The theme of this diploma thesis is fittings of heating systems and it is divided into three parts. The first part deals with this topic on theoretical level. In the second part, there is a calculations and drawings that deals with heating and water heating of the apartment building in Uherské Hradiště. This part is solved in two variants concerning hydraulic balancing and regulation of the heating system. The last part of the thesis is an experimental solution and processing of pressure loss results of selected valves. These results are compared with the values reported by the manufactures of the valve.
Airplane Cooling System Optimization
Lajza, Ondřej ; Fiľakovský, Karol (referee) ; Horák, Aleš (referee) ; Píštěk, Antonín (advisor)
Dissertation thesis is focused on the aircraft cooling system optimization. The knowledge of the pressure loss is necessity for design of an optimal system. In the beginning of the thesis, the different designs of piston engine cooling systems are described for both aircrafts and automobiles. Other sections outline the determination of the coolers characteristics and describe the different test sections applicable for the characteristics measurement. The test section built at the Institute of the aerospace engineering is described as well. Practical part of the thesis describes the calibration of the test section. The measurements of the specific coolers were compared with the CFD simulation of two models - the simplified cooler model and cooler element model. Additionally, the measurements were compared with results obtained at specialized coolers testing facility.
Heat exchanger design
Vašíček, Jan ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a cooling water – water heat exchanger. The content of the work is the basic sorting and description of the heat exchanger. Next it includes calculation and design of geometric dimensions, calculation of pressure losses in the tubeside and shellside and calculation of the actual output of the heat exchanger. This work also contains the drawing documentation of the designed heat exchanger.
Aerodynamic Calculation of Air Part of Steam Boiler
Kudela, Libor ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to realize analysis of problematics of aerodynamic calculations of steam boilers on the part of combustion air. On the basis of project documentation realize evaluations of sectional dissipation factors of each component of inlet tract. Realize calculation of summary pressure (draft) loss. Specify components with highest loss and propose options of their optimization.
Properties of ceramics foam filters needed for numerical simulation software
Boček, Vítězslav ; Láník, Boris (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
Final thesis, elaborated within the master study field of Foundry technology, deals with determination of some parameters of ceramic foam filters that are necessary for using numerical simulation during foundry practice. Thesis foccuses on defining methodology, manufacturing messuring device and measuring pressure drop on several type sof ceramic foam filters in dependence on flow rate of measuring medium. Measuring medium selected is water, mening this thesis deals also with water simulation in foundry technology.
Flow Distribution in Equipment with Dense Tube Bundles
Babička Fialová, Dominika ; Jegla, Zdeněk (referee) ; Turek, Vojtěch (advisor)
Significant maldistribution negatively influences performance of equipment containing dense tube bundles and, moreover, it can cause a wide range of operating issues. This thesis therefore focuses on analysis of fluid flow in complete distribution systems via computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Data obtained from simulations carried out using the software ANSYS Fluent were also statistically analysed. Influence of system arrangement, tube bundle parameters and operating parameters on flow distribution non-uniformity and pressure drop was investigated. According to the results, system arrangement is the crucial differentiating parameter in terms of flow distribution as well as pressure drop. Additionally, data obtained via the classical CFD approach were compared with those yielded by a simplified CFD model for three selected distribution systems. Simplified CFD approach can - given its low computational demand - be utilised in optimization algorithms as well as in the course of the initial stage of equipment design process. Furthermore, this thesis discusses a simulation tool which is based on the simplified CFD approach. Although this tool is still being developed, the results it yields are very promising.
Space heating of a mixed-use building
Dvořák, Jakub ; Hejčík, Jiří (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is to design space heating system for building with five floors, where the first above ground floor is used as commercial space. Designed building have one underground floor and four above ground floors. Diploma thesis is designed as project of Building Service, specifically that of Heating. This diploma thesis contains calculations of the design heat load, design of radiators and others heating surfaces, hydraulic balancing, generation of domestic hot water, design of heat source, calculations of safety devices and pumps design. Part of this diploma thesis is also conceptual design of regulation.
Pressure loss valves in heating systems
Náglová, Michaela ; Adam, Pavel (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the hydraulics of heating systems. The aim of the project is a design of the heating and hot water preparation system for an apartment building. The building has 6 above-ground floors and 2 underground floors. Two different options of heating systems were designed, comparison and results are presented in the thesis. In the first case the heat source during the winter season and for water heating, where chosen two gas condensing boilers, situated in separated room on the second underground floor. In the second case, each apartment has its own gas condensing boiler. The experimental part of the project deals with measurements of pressure losses in water armatures used in heating systems. The aim of this part is the determination of coefficients of added resistance for uncontrolled elements, which are normally presented as tabular value. In thesis are presented results for a ball valve, backflow preventer, filter, for slide valve and thermostatic valve. Measurements for thermostatic valve where done with different settings and results are compared with parameters listed in the datasheet.
