Hrouza, Ondřej ; Šedý, Jakub (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis are problematics about LDPC codes. There are described metods to create parity check matrix, where are important structured metods using finite geometry: Euclidean geometry and projectice geometry. Next area in this thesis is decoding LDPC codes. There are presented four metods: Hard-Decision algorithm, Bit-Flipping algorithm, The Sum-Product algorithm and Log Likelihood algorithm, where is mainly focused on iterative decoding methods. Practical output of this work is program LDPC codes created in environment Matlab. The program is divided to two parts -- Practise LDPC codes and Simulation LDPC codes. The result reached by program Simulation LDPC codes is used to create a comparison of creating and decoding methods LDPC codes. For comparison of decoding methods LDPC codes were used BER characteristics and time dependence each method on various parameters LDPC code (number of iteration or size of parity matrix).

Adaptive OFDM
Nowak, Dan ; Valenta, Václav (referee) ; Maršálek, Roman (advisor)
The purpose of this paper is to study the possibilities of the OFDM system adaptive modulation. The study presents mechanism for acquiring the necessary data of every frequency subchannel using pilot signals and application of these data for system adjustment. The paper introduces the water-filling principle for subchannel power allocation on the basis of their SNR and adaptive modulation mechanisms for variety of OFDM usage. These mechanisms are implemented into a MATLAB model. The code is then transformed into graphical representation and using USRP2, the signal is transmitted by real world channel.

Strouhal, Adam ; Hüttl, Ondřej (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This Master thesis is focused on detailed description of the DVB-T2 system. This work deals with the description of the particular parts of models and with typical RF transmission channels for fixed and mobile reception. In order to simulate the impact of the fading transmission channels on the transmitted signal there was developed an appropriate application in MATLAB. The graphic user interface of this application allows set the transmission parameters of DVB-T2 and the parameters of the transmission channels. Results of simulations with various settings are evaluated and compared with the results, obtained from the DVB-T measurements.

Signal processing in ZigBee system
Miloš, Jiří ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hanus, Stanislav (advisor)
Master's thesis The Signal Processing in ZigBee System is focused on properties of Physical Layer of ZigBee (standard IEEE 802.15.4 - 2003). The work consists of three parts. The first part contains common view on using and properties of ZigBee. The next part focuses on the Medium Access Control Layer and in detail on the Physical Layer. There described signal processing in the Physical Layer in individual radio bands. The last part of the project contains the process of modeling in the MATLAB for both models of system ZigBee (bands 868/915 MHz and 2450 MHz). The last part of thesis deals with the simulations of BER depending on Carrier-to-Noise Ratio. Also examined the coexistence of systems operating in the same or a nearby frequency band. Based on the results of simulations there are given recommendations for the use of the ZigBee system in minimizing BER.
Modulation technique design for radio channels with interference
Bělohlávek, Jiří ; Kubánková, Anna (referee) ; Pust, Radim (advisor)
This thesis concisely describes essential type of modulation technique for transmission of binary signal. In introductory part there are summarized advantages and disadvantages for each described modulation technique. There are described proceeding of modulation and demodulation too. Next part is specialized mainly to determination of incorrect receiving probability. For each modulation technique are calculated theoretical values of bit error rate and compiled graph. In practical part there are described possibilities of Matlab platform for measurement of bit error rate. In implement Simulink there is built model of communication channel with additional AWGN channel. Graphs are constructed from simulation data by the help of model’s control script. On selected modulation technique are inspected various elements which are reacted with graph. In finale part there are compared theoretical and measured values and summarized analysis.
Wireless transmission interference modeling (AWGN, Rayleigh, Rice fading channels)
Hloušek, Tomáš ; Gleissner, Filip (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes and models wirelesss transmission intereferences in real communication channels. A signal received on a fading channel is subjected to a multiplicative distortion and to the usual additive noise. Real channel adds to the signal noise and fadings. Gaussian noise is a result of channel awgn. Fadings is implicated by multipath propagation of signal in Rayleigh and Rician channels. Main goal of this project is to program BERsolve, which is created in tool GUIDE in Matlab. User program BERsolve makes it possible to analyse bit error rate and symbol error rate for some types of channel models, which are defined by standard COST207. BERsolve offers some other functions i.e. display time behaviour, constellation diagram and spectrum. This program provides us with an overview representation of problem by multipath interferences in communication channels.
The Optical Link Error-Rate Determination
Joch, Antonín ; Kapoun, Vladimír (referee) ; Kyselák, Martin (advisor)
The master thesis discusses physical causes of light polarization and problems brought by nascence of Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD). These problems occur especially by high speed systems on optical cable traces. The thesis deals with actuation of transmitted signal by influence of Inter Symbol Interference and it also deals with methods for its measuring and compensation. As a results of measurements are in text presented data provided by EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. Company. Significant part of the thesis focuses on optical link Bit Error Rate (BER) which is connected with Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and signal quality (Q-factor). Further on it is possible to find in text about so called eye diagram which is display mode that shows influence of communication channel on shape of the transmitted signal. To this diagram is related another one called constellation diagram which describes modulation mode and makes it possible to map dispersion of signal points around their nominal values. In connection with so called trajectory it makes vector diagram. Practical part includes depiction of these diagrams in MATLAB development environment.
Effect of optical connectors quality on transmission
Bernkopf, Miroslav ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with optic fiber connectors and their influence on transmissions realized via fiber optics. Optical fibers and lightguides play the key role in telecommunications because of constant demands of higher bandwidth and data rates. Original metalic wires do not meet market requirements and so the fiber optics are more and more being used. There are various types of fibers and there are also many ways of connections. This work deals with demountable way of connection – optical connectors, which have the biggest influence on a total attenuation and route length. Connector has to meet various requirements such as cleannes, quality, mechanical construction and ferrule polishing.
