Export opportunities on the markets of baltic states

In this thesis, the opportunities for Czech exporters on the markets of baltic republics-- Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - are analysed. In the first part, I describe the basic economic characteristics of these states, their rapid economic growth till the beginning of the economic crisis in 2008 and the consequences which it brought. In the following chapter I analyse the Czech -- Baltic relations, the balance of trade with goods and services and diplomatic relations too. In the last chapter, there is information about business environment in Baltic republics and the sector with high export potential for Czech goods to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
Euro as legal tender outside the eurozone: the theoretical and legal aspects

The thesis deals with countries that are monetary integrated with the eurozone in another form of monetary integration than monetary union, otherwise than by joining the eurozone. The aim of this thesis is to describe the forms of monetary integration, their legal aspects, advantages and disadvantages and the reasons leading to their creation. Furthermore to create an overview of countries where the euro is legal tender in the form of a currency board or euroisation. Explain the reasons for these countries led to the decision to create these forms of monetary integration. Outline whether this monetary integration is somehow accompanied with economic integration. Describe how the implementation of these decisions took place in individual countries and how it is legaly regulated. Evaluate the influence of the adoption of such measures on the domestic economy of each country. Countries which this thesis deals with are: Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Lithuania, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, Montenegro and Kosovo.
Real and nominal convergence of the Baltic States in the context of their integration into the euro area.

This thesis focuses on comparation of flat tax in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Czech republic and Slovakia. In first part is characterization of the flat tax according to its authors Hall and Rabushka and comparison real tax systems in these economies with theoretical concept and demands on good tax system. In final part includes evaluation of economic developement of chosen countries.
Economic boom and fall of Baltic countries in 21. century

The focus of my work is to analyze the economic trend and development of the so-called "Baltic Tigers", from the beginning of the 21st century up to the present time. Here belongs the states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. I'd like to concentrate on their mutual economic boom in detail, due to which they became an example for other successful transit economics, and also I'd like to depict the main cause of their GDP slump in the last period, which is related to the inception of the financial crisis. I'll be describing the situation in Latvia in particular, their unfavorable economic condition and future outlook. My paper holds forth on certain issues, such as reasons of the overheated economy, emigration, GDP negative accrual, short-term debts participation, increasing unemployment and social disturbance. In the closing part I'll try to outline possible economic forecast and solution of the actual matters.
The Baltic Economies in the EU - Trends, Perspectives

The work analyses macroeconomic development of the Baltic States from the beginning of the 1990s until today and their position in the European Union evaluated on the basis of nominal and real convergence indicators. A significant part of the text is dedicated to the current economic crisis and to its impacts on the Baltic region. In this context, possible solutions and perspectives for future progress are suggested.
Baltic States: development and specifics of a transition process and way to the EU

Economy of the Baltic States in the Beginning of the 21st Century: Successes, Problems and Outlook

This paper describes and analyses the economic development of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia since the restoration of independence in early nineties. The paper then characterises the most important problems the Baltic States' economies are currently facing and addresses their causes and consequences. These problems include current account deficit, high inflation and labour force emigration. In the end the paper outlines possible future developments in these economies.
Analysis of the Economic Connections of the Czech Republic and Baltic Countries

Diplomová práce ?Analýza hospodářských vztahů České republiky s Pobaltskými zeměmi? mapuje vývoj ekonomik Litvy, Lotyšska a Estonska v období od získání nezávislosti po rozpadu Sovětského svazu až do současnosti. Jejím hlavním cílem je monitorovat a zhodnotit vývoj hospodářských vztahů těchto zemí s Českou republikou. Je zde ukázána obchodní výměna probíhající mezi státy v uplynulých letech a také toky investic a vývoj obchodně politických vztahů. Zmíněn je i vliv vstupu všech zemí do Evropské unie.
Měnový výbor jako alternativa centrální banky a jako systém měnového kursu

Práce se věnuje systému měnového výboru. První část práce je zaměřena na ortodoxní měnový výbor. V další části práce autor zasazuje měnový výbor mezi systémy pevných devizových kursů. Třetí část práce se zabývá moderními formami měnového výboru, zejména odlišnostmi od ortodoxního měnového výboru. Druhá polovina práce je zaměřena na konkrétní dvě ekonomiky mající zkušenosti se systémem měnového výboru. Estonsko využívá systém měnového výboru dodnes a i díky makroekonomickým výsledkům je jeho používání hodnoceno pozitivně. V Argentině naopak období praktikování měnového výboru skončilo hospodářskou krizí a měnový výbor byl v roce 2002 zrušen.
