Volunteering as a Preparation of future Managers

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of volunteering as a preparation of future managers. It focuses on the experiences and expertise gained by participating in voluntary activities in AIESEC organization and examines their applicability to management positions. In the first part, there are defined the theoretical basis of the field of management, managerial competencies and volunteering. The second part deals with non-profit organization AIESEC in detail. This is followed by a questionnaire survey, the evaluation and presentation of results. The primary objective of this thesis is to determine whether volunteering in AIESEC can be considered as a managerial practice.

Using of the interactive board on the second grade of the primary school

Není snad učitele, který by si nevšiml, jaké velké změny přinesl rozvoj výpočetní techniky v devadesátých letech minulého století do našeho školství. Nicméně pro mě osobně znamenal zásadní průlom v mé práci učitele až příchod interaktivní tabule, která pomocí animací, videa, interaktivních cvičení a příkladů dokáže udělat výuku velmi zajímavou právě pro generaci žáků 21. století. Interaktivní tabule mi umožňuje připravit si zajímavé vyučovací hodiny s využitím moderní techniky. Své hodiny si připravuji na PC a poté už jen stačí, když aktualizuji a přizpůsobuji připravené hodiny podle momentálních potřeb výuky. Není tak možné, abych zapomněla kazetu, videokazetu či jiné pomůcky na vyučování, protože mám vše potřebné na vyučovací hodinu již předem připravené v počítači. Své vlastní prezentace a samostatné práce mých žáků si také mohu okamžitě ukládat do PC a mít je v záloze pro případné další využití. Dnešní generace žáků má v oblibě cokoliv elektronického a právě využití interaktivní tabule může sloužit učiteli jako vhodná pomůcka k tomu, aby žákům ukázal, že elektronika není jen k hraní válečných her a chatování po ICQ, ale že může být efektivním nástrojem k jejich učení a pomáhat jim účinně osvojovat si a rozvíjet klíčové kompetence vymezené v RVP a ŠVP jednotlivých základních škol.

Popularity of Olympic Games by public in comparison with presentation in Press media

Název: Popularita olympijských her u veřejnosti ve srovnání s prezentací v tištěných médiích Název v angličtině: Popularity of olympic games among people in comparison with presentation in press media Cíl práce: Cílem této práce je zjistit núru shody mezi prezentací olympijských her v tištěných médiích a informacemi, které žádá dotazovaná veřejnost. Metody: V práci byla využita obsahová analýza a dotazník, jakožto jedna z kvantitativních metod. Výsledky: Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že informace o olympijských hrách podávané tištěnými médii z velké části odpovídají požadavkům veřejnosti. Přesto však existují rozdíly v preferencích médií a veřejnosti a to především v případě letních olympijských her, konkrétně u sportovních odvětví. Rovněž způsob prezentace olympijských her v tištěných médiích se s požadavky veřejnosti shodoval pouze částečně. Klíčová slova: Olympijské hry, denní tisk, obsahová analýza, dotazník, novinové útvary

Cultural Institutes as an Instrument for Public Diplomacy

This work focuses on cultural institutes as an instrument of public diplomacy. Aim of the work is twofold: to analyze functioning of an institute and to create a consistent picture of its activities. The first chapter is dedicated to the role of public diplomacy and its relationship with cultural diplomacy. The second chapter examines various aspects of work of an institute. Conclusions of the analysis are then integrated in a general model of cultural presentation carried out by an institute. The last chapter analyzes determining elements and activities of the French, Spanish, Polish, and Slovak cultural institutes in Prague.

The main focus is on display of the other comprehensive income and the way of its presentation. The thesis deals also with terminology that is used in czech translations.

Extension development for CMS Joomla!

Writing of analytical reports in natural language is important, but not very simple. At this time, most of analytical reports are written in Microsoft Word and saved as classical files. The object of this bachelor thesis is the change to simpler writing of analytical reports in online application CMS Joomla!. To this functionality, we use some extensions of CMS Joomla!. After demands definition, we use an exitor-xtd plug-in and a component for CMS Joomla! 1.5. Using extensions, which were written in this thesis, authors of analytical reports are able to select part of dates from data mining application and insert this part to edited analytical report. The data source for including is xHTML presentation of data from data mining application. In this bachelor thesis, there are described information about dividing of xHTML document, part selection and including to the edited text. The secondary functionality of build extensions is updating of included blocks in selected analytical report. Users can select finished analytical report and update the included blocks with newer data. At the University of Economics, Prague, all students of informatics learn about fundamental data mining in the subject 4iz210 - Information and Knowledge Processing. In this subject, the students will use CMS Joomla! with extensions from this bachelor thesis. The start-up mounting will be at the end of summer semester in academically year 2008-2009. This bachelor thesis could be used as inspiration for extension development for CMS Joomla!, too.

Selected elements of p-block in education of chemistry at secondary schools

The main subject of this thesis is a practical elaboration of the subject "Boron, Carbon and Nitrogen Group of the p-block elements" in form of presentations created using the Microsoft PowerPoint program. The presentations are designed to be used in practice, during the education of chemistry at secondary schools. The thesis also contains additional comments for teachers and an analysis of curricular documents and selected textbooks. It is elaborated in accordance with the RVP G programme.

Accessibility of the municipality mobile web

The aim of this work is to identify the status of methodological support for the evaluation of the accessibility of the mobile web and practical evaluation of the accessibility of the mobile websites of selected public sector organizations. Paper shows findings of a methodology relating to the web accessibility on mobile devices and shows the status of the domain. The findings are then used to select the correct method for practical testing. The method is applied to the two websites. The result is that both violates the rules of the accessible mobile Web. The added value of this work is mapping the current state of methodologies and showing practical tests of mobile website, which can be used for evaluating other websites.
