Problematics of dystanazia
Javornický, Michal ; Halama, Jindřich (advisor) ; Milfait, René (referee)
Synopsis My work describes the consequensces and the problems of dystanasia (overtreatement). Dystanasia means keeping man alive at all costs. It doesn't respect boards, where currative care doesn't bring profit to man. It doesn't respect the finallity of human life. It just keep's the human body on technical equipement and the body will not survive without these technics and will be dead. With this theme incorporates the question of life and death. It is death, which is blocked in dystanasia. When we define death, we must begin with the definition of life. My work also describes euthanasia: it is sometimes described as opposition to dystanasia. In this view, dystanasia is treatement, which prolongs death. And then euthanasia doesn't prolong death but shortens the proces of dying. Solving these problems is complicated. To change the thinking of humanity to accept inevitable death is an impossible task. Maybe the way is to give space for communication between pastoral care, medicine and paliative medicine. To set up tasks and the method of cooperating is the goal of my work. Key words: Life, death, euthanasia, dystanasia, pain, suffering, vain treatement, pastoral care, paliative medicine

Numerical solution of flows in time dependent domains with elastic walls
Hadrava, Martin ; Feistauer, Miloslav (advisor) ; Felcman, Jiří (referee)
Title: Numerical solution of flows in time dependent domains with elastic walls Author: Martin Hadrava Department: Department of Numerical Mathematics Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Miloslav Feistauer, DrSc., dr. h. c. Supervisor's e-mail address: feist@karlin.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: This work is devoted to the numerical solution of flow in time dependent domains with elastic walls. This problem has several applications in engineering and medicine. The flow is described by the system of Navier-Stokes equations supplemented with suitable initial and boundary conditions. A part of the boundary of the region oc- cupied by the fluid is represented by an elastic wall, whose deformation is described by a hyperbolic partial differential equation with initial and boundary conditions. Its right- hand side represents the force by which the fluid flow acts on the elastic wall. The goal of this work is to elaborate a numerical method for solving this coupled problem based on the finite element method and the ALE formulation of the equations describing flow. A for- mulation and analysis of the problem together with discretization, algorithmisation and programming of modules, which were added to an existing software package, is presented. The method that was worked out is applied to solve test problems. Keywords: interaction of flow and an...

Art, architecture and design in the space age
Wollner, Jan ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Hubatová - Vacková, Lada (referee)
Cosmic inspiration influenced huge amount of different artistic material. It was the only one topic, which went through categories such as high art and popular culture, fine and applied arts, all the medias, official and independent production, state ideology and interest of common man. Thesis tries to go through these categories high and low, fine and applied, official and independent. It divils its material into thematic chapters to achieve this goal. First of them Expand your mind deals with projects of visionary architecture, which does not try to create new "cosmic" kapes but expand - with Marshall McLuhan -man's mind and senses. Then Gravitationless state describes petting loose of Earth as principal feeling of space age. Peace and Freedom play role of contradictory ideological terms to fights between politicians, artists and spaceships. How Does Space Look Like is a question for representation of cosmic topics between abstraction and realism ant the last charter Space for Children does not show reduced version of space for children but "adult" ideological construction of connection between the youngest generation and future in space. Individual chapters are preceded by theoretical introductin The World Where We Will Live Tommorow and The Word We Live In. It is a confrontation of...

Relict Czech-German Ethnic Boundary as a Socio-Cultural Divide of Territory
Podhola, Matěj ; Chromý, Pavel (advisor) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with topic of relict Czech-German ethnic boundary. In the first part of the thesis theoretical-methodological aspects of the study are discussed with an emphasis on delimitation of Czech-German ethnic boundary in literature. In the past the tendency to draw ethnic boundary as a line prevailed and it was common not to deal with zonal character of ethnic boundaries. In the second part of the thesis the shape of Czech- German ethnic boundary in the Czech lands and its changes from the end of the 19th century to 2001 are studied. In the third part of the thesis the shape of Czech-German ethnic boundary in chosen interest regions is analyzed, and the function of ethnic boundary as a socio-cultural divide of a territory is considered. The aim of the study was to find out if there are differences between Czech and German community in the interest regions. The function of ethnic boundary as a socio-cultural divide was examined in two periods: in an interwar era of the first Czechoslovak republic, and at the beginning of the 21st century, when Czech-German ethnic boundary remains only as a relict boundary. Comparison of both parts along the ethnic boundary in the interest regions was done on the basis of religiosity of population and results of parliamentary elections. Key words:...

Life and social support of the czech soldiers of the army of the Czech Republic in operation in Afghanistan
Dvořáková, Lenka ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Býma, Svatopluk (referee) ; Skorunka, David (referee)
ANOTATION The bachelor's thesis deals about the quality of life and the degree of psychosocialogic pillar by the soldiers AČR in the outward mission in Afghanistan. It points to the importance of psychologic setout before the departure to the mission, also that the attendence of army psychologists in missions is uncoverable. I'm trying to explain their actions which are connected with this hard life situation for all soldiers who participate there. The accent makes quantitative prospective checking by force of questionary ŽSO/01/11. Pursuant to it I asked to the degree of psychosocialogic pillar and the quality of soldiers who act in the afghanistan outward mission. The points of interest were regular soldiers, the members of 71. mechanized battalion Hranice, who were added at the function of protection commpany 6. PRT mission ISAF.

Selected problems of the rural delimitation
Bednářová, Hana ; Perlín, Radim (advisor) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (referee)
This work is an attempt to define an alternative definition of rural as compared with the OECD methodology applied to the NUTS 3 units. In the specific nature of the Czech population is necessary to use other methods of defining rural. Bibliography outlines other possible ways of definic, as a empirical research reflects a descriptive approach to the definition of rural based on statistical indicators which are assessed in seven groups. The results are shown in the cartograms. Differences between rural and urban areas are in the Czech Republic according to the chosen methodology very small or not visible. Countryside as defined by statistical indicators have shown similar results as the definition of internal peripherals. The chosen method for the identification is very difficult and demanding. The results are largely influenced by the threshold value for each indicator. Keywords: delimination, country, rural, delimitation, rural areas

Companies in private international law
Hubinský, Igor ; Brodec, Jan (advisor) ; Dobiáš, Petr (referee)
60 Resume (Corporations in Private International Law) Free cross-border movement of companies became a new challenge for the European Law in last 30 years and surely changed the old theorems of private international law, concerning the companies at least. Although it is exactly the companies who are the most important factor shaping the European economy, legislature has not paid much attention and did little to facilitate their cross-border transfer. Under those circumstances, it has been the European Court of Justice (today Court of Justice of European Union) who has played the crucial role in interpreting the rights the European citizens under the Treaty should enjoy. But performing this enormously difficult task and under the scrutiny of European legal commentators it often got criticism, mostly for the inconsistency in his approach to construction of articles regarding the freedom of establishment. In my work I focused on the most relevant cases and attempted to point out underlying arguments in Court's reasoning. I tried not to set its judicature in debate over traditional issues regarding connecting factors since I think that question of freedom of establishment in European context should move to slightly different area of law. Nevertheless few pages of my work are devoted to these issues, where I...

New Integral Formulae in Hypercomplex Analysis
Sikora, Martin ; Souček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Krýsl, Svatopluk (referee) ; Vanžura, Jiří (referee)
Title: New Integral Formulae in Hypercomplex Analysis Author: Mgr. Martin Sikora Department: Mathematical Institute of Charles University Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Vladimír Souček, DrSc., MÚ UK Supervisor's e-mail address: soucek@karlin.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: The Dirac equation for Clifford algebra-valued functions on the even-dimensional Minkowski space can be understood as a hyperbolic sys- tem of partial differential equations. We show how to reconstruct the solution from initial data given on the upper sheet of the hyperboloid. In particular, we derive an integral formula which expresses the value of a function in a chosen point as an integral over a compact cycle given by the intersection of the null cone with the upper sheet of the hyperboloid in the Minkowski space. We also treat the ultra-hyperbolic case where the Dirac equation gives the ultra-hyperbolic system of partial differential equations. An analogue of the second order Cauchy formula is proved for (n − 1)-vector-valued holo- morphic functions. It reconstructs values inside a bounded domain in the 2n-dimensional complex space by integrating over the characteristic boun- dary of the domain. 1

Visualization of word - verbalization of image in the Russian second avant-garde (Vsevolod Nekrasov and Erik Bulatov)
Machoninová, Alena ; Langerová, Marie (advisor) ; Svatoň, Vladimír (referee) ; Glanc, Tomáš (referee)
This project is dedicated to an analysis of the close connections between the poetry of Vsevolod Nekrasov (1934-2009) and the paintings of Erik Bulatov (1933) in the context of Russian avant-garde movements throughout the 20th century. The interrelation of literature and visual arts goes back to antiquity. At the beginning of the 20th century, the works of the first avant-garde reevaluate the traditional primacy of literature and spoken word over painting and written word and attempt to reverse this hierarchy. The tendency to liberate image from the thrall of the word, to assert the independence of the inscribed word from the spoken word, is demonstrated through the example of cubo-futurist (mostly manuscript) books. There, the written word frees itself from its acoustic form, fuses with images of a nonverbal nature, and emphasizes its visuality by means of active penetration into the space of the page, thus disrupting the rigid linearity of the reading process. The announcement of this autonomy turned out to be a crucial condition for the utopian expansion of the first avant-garde beyond individual art forms and beyond art as such. The cubo-futurist "anti-book" represents the climax of this attack on boundaries between the arts.
