Ranking of the Czech Republic in the International Competitiveness Rankings

The work deals with the ranking of the Czech Republic in competitiveness rankings made by World Economic Forum and International Institute for Management and Development. First part is dedicated to the explanation of the word competitiveness and different opionions on this topic. Further the work analyzes results of the research using Growth Competitiveness Index, Global Competitiveness Index and methodology used by IMD. The work is also concerned with the analysis of positives and negatives participating in the final ranking of the Czech Republic, comparison with other countries such as Slovakia and comparison within last years.
Competitiveness of Switzerland in the global economy with focus on the financial sector

The bachelor thesis analyzes the current competitiveness of the swiss economy. It defines its sources of competitiveness and barriers to it. A large part is devoted to the position of the swiss financial system in the world economy. Especially its quality and stability is assessed, to a large extent demonstrated on the actual situation. In its main part, the work describes the competitive position of Switzerland in particular areas of competitiveness ratings measured by multicriterial aproach to competitiveness. Higher attention is paid to the innovational performance, being probably the main source of future competitiveness advantage of the swiss economy. Comparison with countries at similar development level is widely used in the thesis.
The competitiveness of human capital in new member states of the EU

This thesis focuses on the competitiveness of the new members of the European Union in the range of human capital. The aim of the thesis is to find out the competitive advantage of new member states. In the first chapter, I attend to human capital and its position in economy in general. In the second chapter, I compare new member countries with each other and with other members in the range of education (concretely the educational structure, the educational expenses and the quality of education) and labour costs. Then is compared the quality and the price of human capital in particular countries and indicated the possible development in the future.
International Trade and Competitiveness of Ukraine

This work deals with the theoretical concept of national competitiveness, analyzes the development of Ukraine's foreign trade in selected areas and measures competitiveness of Ukraine using an alternative method of measurement. This method is based on analysis of comparative advantages in foreign trade of Ukraine and the extent of their use. The results are compared with selected international competitiveness rankings. As these rankings, also this work evaluates Ukraine as a little competitive, but with the improving trends.
Improving the competitiveness of e-shop using internet advertising

The subject of thesis is examining the impact of internet advertising and web site usability on the competitiveness of internet commerce. The aim of this work is the successful application of theoretical knowledge to practical examples of e-shop Lahůdkářství Jan Paukert. This application should show an increase in attendance and achievement of higher sales. The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The first part is focused on theoretical knowledge in the field of usability and web ads, the second deals with their application to the internet shop.
Application of method Competitive Intelligence on the building industry

The main theme of the thesis is the application of methods of information and knowledge-based disciplines - Competitive Intelligence on the building industry of the Czech Republic. The first part provides a comprehensive overview of theoretical information which are necessary to describe Competitive Intelligence. From the outset, it gradually forms detailed description about the entire field as far as detailed procedures with the application of various analytical methods, in the form of formalized definitions of Competitive Intelligence. The most common methods which are listed below in particular are SLEPT analysis, SWOT analysis, an analysis of five porter forces, BCG matrix, and others. The practical part of work is an application of process and methods of Competitive Intelligence on the Czech building market. This part gradually specifies individual steps of analysis (definition of objectives, procedures, identification and exploitation of information resources, etc.) and presents its final output, which is suitably complemented with a description of information resources. Chapter concludes the summary of the main trends and factors involved in the building industry, which complements the recommendations for the building companies to increase their competitiveness. There is also important summary and characteristics of selected information sources.
Coordination of EC/EU's economic policy and it's impact on the competitiveness of the Community.

This Bachelor`s thesis follows the process of EC/EU`s economic policy development from the end of the 2nd World War up to the 21st century. It provides a brief view of gradation of member states` cooperation in the area of economic policies, notices transfers of particular competencies from national to supra-national level and studies the effects of economic policy coordination on the member states over the last twenty years -- mainly the impacts of the European Economic and Monetary union and Lisbon Strategy. It focuses on basic macroeconomic indicators and tries to find an answer whether such coordination increased competitiveness of the Community or not.

The Impact of Financial Crisis on Competitivness of Czech Exporting Companies

The goal of this thesis is to analyze what the impact of current financial crisis and economic slowdown will be on Czech exporting companies. Firstly the causes of financial crisis are described. it is followed by the analysis of the primary impact of financial crisis in the Czech Republic - the impact on banking sector and liquidity. The economic slowdown on foreign markets is considered as the secondary impact. Finally some possible solutions on how to improve the competitiveness are offered.
Market risk management and its implementation in industrial company

In my paper, I focuse on management of market risks, especially financial risks with great accent on monetary risk. In first part of my paper I devote to market risk management in a theoretical way. There is also description of internal and external management of exchange exposition. In the second part I concentrate on praktical implementation of risk management in the company Biocel Paskov a.s. Due to the fact that the company is strongly export oriented, monetary risk management is the key issue of financial stability and competitiveness.
