Design and Implementation of IoT for Monitoring and Control of Smart Homes
Smejkal, Jakub ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with a generic design and implementation of an IoT system, specifically for a smart home. The thesis aims to compare existing systems and hardware solutions. In this thesis there are a few examples of hardware firmwares and a prototype of a software for controlling and monitoring. The selected problem is resolved by designing a general system for a smart home. As a sample implementation, the system will be created by using hardware devices from Czech company HARDWARIO and sensors from various vendors. It will contain some environmental sensors, motion detectors, etc. The implemented prototype of an application allows easy monitoring of the whole home in one place thanks to an uncluttered UI, which is fully customizable for the user's needs.
Sub-sections of cost-effective building automation
Holoubek, Lukáš ; Lacko, Branislav (referee) ; Němec, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is a building automation in which the circuits are controlled by a single-board computer Arduino and the entire system is operated by a mobile phone. The theoretical part describes a single-board computer Arduino, its parts, functions, capabilities and communication with it. In the practical part, the controlled circuits are described, implemented and a functional model of a house is created. The model of the house practically demonstrates behavior of the controlled circuits simultaneously with a possibility to manage and influence the system using a mobile phone.
Home Automation Based on Arduino/WeMos/RPi Platform
Bubeníček, Daniel ; Materna, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kapinus, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation of home automation system based on Arduino, WeMos and Raspberry Pi platforms. Twelve modules for home automation were designed, which can be easily built on these platforms. The implemented prototype allows to control heating system and LED light, track temperature and humidity, detect newly connected Wi-Fi devices, human motion, door opening, create custom automation rules etc. The system uses pre-existing household equipment. The new hardware used in prototype cost only 1.600 CZK.
Open-Source Implementation Of Smart Home Gateway For Z-Wave Protocol
Krejci, Jan
Z-Wave protocol is one of the most popular wireless protocols for home automation or smart home. However, in recent years there have been only few studies on practical measurements of this protocol. There are several manufacturers on the market, implying a vast array of devices, as well as deploying a commercial solution to the home is expensive and mostly focused on a single manufacturer’s portfolio. In this article, we designed and implemented our own Z-Wave home gateway for a smart home system based on open source software. We verified the feasibility of the proposed gate using the prototype and evaluated its performance according to the execution time of the command. We also discussed the limitations of the Z-Wave protocol based on our experience.
Home Heating Control with Hybrid Communication
Ambrož, Milan ; Urbanec, Tomáš (referee) ; Povalač, Aleš (advisor)
In this thesis, heating system with hybrid control of the heating intended for houses is proposed. The system is primarily prepared for storage tank and multiple heat sources.
Integration of Sensors and Actors into the BeeeOn System
Šišmiš, Lukáš ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to extend BeeeOn system with a Vektiva module and to do a research on possibilities of Smarwi implementation, which not only included studying different communication protocols that the device uses, but also comparing them and choosing the most suitable protocol for the implementation. In the beginning of the thesis, BeeeOn system and its' components are described followed by the description of implementation and testing pocess of the Vektiva module and the Smarwi emulator.
Using of automation in home
Junek, Martin ; Vojáček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Lacko, Branislav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe suitable functions in the control of gas boiler and automation means for control and regulation of boilers. Then to mention the benefits of automation for cost savings.
Using of voice for home eguipment control
Bubla, Lukáš ; Vojáček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Lacko, Branislav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on home automation, specifically on voice control. It describes methods of communication and control of automated systems and especially problematics of computer voice recognition using different methods. The thesis displays specific product for voice controlling developed by Czech company Elko ep, s.r.o. and then briefly looks at the issue of gesture control. At the end compares product from Elko ep with other products from foreign companies and discuss advantages and disadvantages of voice or gestures control.
Wireless Communication for Home Automation
Sezima, Václav ; Janoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Hanáček, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of wireless communication among devices and sensors for home automation. The goal is to design and implement a device known as the gateway that is passing messages and commands between sensors and controller that controls them from central point, e.g. computer or mobile phone. A part of this thesis is also a creation of several sensors for the purpose of testing and demonstration. The gateway and sensors are based on development boards WEMOS and Arduino and supports multiple wireless technologies for communication with among themselves and controller.
Smart Home Security Management
Valičková, Monika ; Sedlák, Petr (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on increasing Smart Home Control System security in terms of information, network and physical security. It is based on a risk analysis of the current state of applied security management and the needs of the house owner. Both security countermeasure and cost analysis are thoroughly discussed, and the thesis also contains methodology, which describes the management of smart home security and improvement of end-user security awareness.
