Mythological subjects in the work of Lucas Cranach the Elder

This thesis deals with the production of Lucas Cranach the Elder. After the introductive encounter with the life of Lucas Cranach the Elder the emphasis is put on the mythological subjects with respect to their origin in historical sources and classical literature. The thesis also considers the different influences on Cranach's work in context with contemporary painters and humanism and presents the conditions mainly in the court of the Saxon Prince-electors where Cranach worked.
František Tichý and his works in the 1940s

5 ANNOTATION The subject of this bachelor work is the description and presentation of the works of Mr. Frantisek Tichy. The aim is to focus on his works in the 1940s in the context of his peak of technical abilities and the development of spirituality in his works. For the purpose of organization, Mr. Tichy's artwork is classified by the date of the creation and organized accordingly. It is also divided into individual chapters in accordance to the techniques being used. The introduction of this work focuses mostly on the life of Mr. Frantisek Tichy. In particular, much is focused on his education in painting and the influential events in his life that have had an impact on his artwork. Undoubtedly, a large role in his artwork was thanks to his pedagogical role at the Fine Arts University in the 1940s. Much of his artwork also reflected the political situation and social changes of the time. Mr. Tichy did not adapt his works in favour of the principles of social realism and thus also was discharged from the university. The following chapters are devoted to his actual artwork. His artwork is clearly defined into many categories such as: painting, graphics, illustrations, practical artwork and theatre. Bartholomeus Spranger in the collections in Czech Republic

Diploma work contains the description of the personality of the painter Bartholomeus Spranger and his work in the Czech collections. The portrait painter Bartholomeus Spranger lived from the year of 1546 to the year of 1611. He was born in Antwerpen and afterwards he was travelling around the Europe. At first he was going to the France ( Paris and Lyon ) and then he was going to the Italy ( Parma, Milano and Roma ). In the year 1575 he is called up to the Vienna and afterwards in the year 1580 to the Prague. The object of this work is an analyse of production in Czech collections and evaluate of their authorship. Futher on then the object of this work is exploration the sources of Documentary and also a critical evaluation of the used literature.

The Struggle to be Recognized: The Life, Times and Work of Emily Carr

This diploma thesis concentrates on a Canadian artist, Emily Carr, namely on her life, times and work. It explores the reasons why her work had originally been rejected and accepted at the end of her life. The first part of this thesis deals with the time and province where she lived, British Columbia, and also with the Aboriginal culture and art in Canada. It describes the public attitude and awareness of the Aboriginal topic. The second part deals with Carr's life (studies and sketching trips), her financial struggles, the refusal of her community to accept her as an artist, and her other activities such as pottery, breeding dogs, etc. It elaborates on the importance of her writings and the topics covered in her books. It also deals with her recognition and importance as an artist at the present time.
Zenith House

Diploma project Zenith House is trying to find and map a position of figural painting in a contemporary art world. Through a detailed study of works of contemporary painters, who use historical influences and compositions, it argues the evolution of painting. It slightly touches the phenomenom of portraiture and the contemporary trend of de-skilling the craftsmen.
Picture and the framing in (non)theatrical context

These bachelor thesis is devided to three main parts. The first one is trying to look to the subject theoretically. That´s also the main source for every definitions and keywords which were the basement for my following writing about the art painting and his frame. The next part takes some inspiration from the history of art. According to these chapter I was trying to remember what is the main inspiration from the history for me and my work. The main aim of the thesis is to discover the phenomenon of the art painting from each sides and forms. Like on the one straight line is in this work possible to see the painting, photographic and film picture next to each other. In the third part I would like to compare the dramatic picture with the other forms according to already completed projects.
Art as a process of interpretation
KODÝTKOVÁ, Ludmila
The thesis deals with significance of art interpreting biblical themes. It analysis a picture Jesus talk to Nicodem by Ignac Viktoriin Raab and compare that picture with corresponding part of John´s Gospel (John 3,31?21). There also can be found an interpretation of this part of Bible and compararion of this part between ecumenical Bible and Jerusalem Bible. Concerned part of the Gospel is also described and analyzed closely. The part concerned in picture itself contained description of the epoch and specification of the barocco and rococo style. It brings informations about the artist, his life and his work. It analyses the picture closely in the artistic aspect. The last part of the work compares the picture with the corresponding part of Bible.
