Electroerosion wire cutting of technical ceramics
Habovštiaková, Mária ; Mouralová, Kateřina (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis deals with the issue of wire electrical discharge machining of SiSiC ceramics. The first part explains the principles of electrical discharge machining, describes the WEDM technology and presents the properties of the advanced ceramics. The second part consists of a detailed analysis of the cutting process of eighteen samples obtained with systematically changing process parameters. Based on the obtained results from EDX analysis, SEM electron microscopy and topography there was performed an analysis of the influence of process parameters on the cutting speed, surface roughness, kerf width and number of wire breaks with usage of the selected brass cutting wire. From the evaluated results it was possible to select a combination of parameters that ensured a stable machining process.

Gabriel, Petr ; Patočka, Miroslav (referee) ; Vorel, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is about to introduce the development of switched power supply with output voltage of 5,5 kV and power of 4,3 kW. This thesis directly follows the outputs of two previous semester projects. Main task is about to finish the development of remaining printed circuit boards and perform launching of all parts of developed power supply. Next necessary task is about to assemble a functional prototype of the supply using the developed parts, performing a series of measurement supply’s parameters and creating of technical documentation of mechanical part. There are all stages of supply’s development included in this thesis. From the first part, that describes various types of converters, through the design of all the supply’s parts, to final implementation of functional prototype. There are the results of measurement supply’s parameters at the end of this thesis.
Processing of bulk SiC ceramics by advanced sintering methods
Poczklán, Ladislav ; Pouchlý, Václav (referee) ; Kachlík, Martin (advisor)
In this bachelor's thesis literature search of preparation of advanced ceramic materi-als was made. The influence of pressure, temperature and time on final microstruc-ture of non-oxide SiC ceramics was studied. The experimental part was devoted to processing of bulk SiC ceramics especially by spark plasma sintering.
Proposal PCB power of the charger for electromobil
Kharchenko, Vadym ; Otýpka, Jan (referee) ; Kuzdas, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is the PCB design of the Quick Charger performance based on new semiconductors SiC for electric vehicles. This work builds on a semester project from a winter semester of this academic year. In addition to the PCB design here described dimensioning of power devices used in the construction of Quick Charger, setting their losses and carry out the measurements, which aims to compare the performance of DC / DC converters with manned SiC diodes converter, whose structure is based on conventional silicon diodes.
Testing of Surge Arresters
Jeřábek, Lukáš ; Paar, Martin (referee) ; Krbal, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is devoted to metal oxide surge arresters. After historical and theoretical introduction, which explains their principles and describes their characteristical properties, analysis of the standard IEC 60099-4 and testing according to the standard with focus on the type tests follows. This chapter is also amended with review of the standard's imperfections and with its most probable future development. The work concludes with a market survey, a review of the largest manufacturers and a comparison of their products.
Market survey of high power semiconductor devices
Light ceramic materials for ballistic protection
Greguš, Peter ; Pouchlý, Václav (referee) ; Salamon, David (advisor)
This thesis gives a comprehensive characterization of lightweight non-oxide ceramic materials for ballistic applications, an overview of production technologies and processing of boron carbide B4C and its ceramic-based composites. A framework for evaluating the ballistic resistance of the material based on mechanical properties is shown there. It can be used in experiments without normalized equipment. The experiments including B4C + Si, B4C + Ti composites, and application of Spark plasma sintering (SPS) were designed according to outputs from the theoretical part. The volume fractions of Si, Ti dopants were optimized based on ongoing chemical reactions during sintering. The obtained samples were subjects of mechanical testing which results were compared to identify the ideal ratio of matrix and reinforcement. As the best suited material for ballistic protection, B4C + 1,0 obj. % reaches these values of parameters; hardness = 3502 ± 122 HV1; fracture toughness KIC = 2,97 ± 0,03 MPam^0,5.
Experimental flyback switching supply 1200 W/150 kHz with SiC switches
Grom, Martin ; Huták, Petr (referee) ; Vorel, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with design and construction of experimental flyback converter with utilization of novel lossless clamp circuit for switching transistor and with utilization of silicon carbide devices. The issue of flyback converter for higher power and possible control strategies are discussed. The thesis also describes power and control circuits design, design of PCB, construction of the converter and measured waveforms. End of the thesis contains technical documentation of designed board. Designed converter was successfully built and tested.
Graphene on SiC as a substrate for molecular self-assembly systems
Černá, Lenka ; Průša, Stanislav (referee) ; Procházka, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the fabrication and characterization of metal-organic frameworks formed by self-assembly mechanism of metal atoms (Fe) and organic molecules (tetracyanoquinodimethane, TCNQ) on a graphene surface. The fabrication of self-assembled structures has been performed on epitaxial graphene on SiC(0001) substrate. The deposition of metal-organic networks, as well as subsequent surface characterization by low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM) scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), were performed under ultra-high vacuum conditions.
Magneto optical studies of solid states materials
Solodovnyk, Artur ; Malissa, Hans (referee) ; Tol, Johan van (referee) ; Neugebauer, Petr (advisor)
