Internet in Cuba and Censorship

This paper focuses on issues related to Internet in Cuba, their development, current trends and tendencies and nowadays course of events in the Cuban network also with regard to the United States - Cuban thaw. Further on, the methodology of limiting the access to the open Internet including Internet censorship is explained and the analytical part determines how much freedom of an Internet user in Cuba is actually limited.
Non-governmental organization People in need and human rights. Case study.

This thesis follows the action of the non-governmental organization (NGO) People in Need. The aim of this thesis is to find out both what the contribution of the NGO People in Need to the field of human rights is and what methods are put in use within their operations. The theoretical part firstly deals with non-governmental organizations from a generic point of view in order to further tackle those NGOs that are active in the field of human rights. The empirical part of this thesis is specifically focused on the case of the non-governmental organization People in Need, bringing forward its overall activity and effect especially within the task of promotion of human rights. The methods used in this field are defined and their application is then monitored in two concrete case studies of Burma and Cuba. In connection to the support provided to those countries, this thesis further explores the ways of spreading awareness of such topic onto the Czech civil society.
Czechoslovak- Cuban economic relations within the Comecon in the seventies of the 20th century

In connection with the gradual release of the Cuban communistic regime it comes to gradual canceling of barriers and blockades that some countries imposed on the Republic of Cuba. Thanks to the canceling of these barriers it comes to opening of a new market that has been in the past one of the great areas for the international trade of Czechoslovakia. The aim of this work is to analyze the statistic of foreign trade between Czechoslovakia and Cuba in the 70s of 20th century, especially than after the Republic of Cuba entered the CMEA. Specifically there are examined different commodities that have belonged to the most important trade goods in the given period. The method of examination is the analysis of import and export between Czechoslovakia and Cuba and comparison of these statistics with the summary statistics of Czechoslovakian foreign trade. The conclusion of this work summarizes the results of analysis of cooperation of the above mentioned countries and evaluates the impact of entering of Cuba into the CMEA.
Human rights in Cuba: Influence of the Cuban opposition movement

The central topic of the thesis is the Cuban pro-democracy opposition movement and its activities towards an official regime of Raul Castro. This is to try and achieve improvements in civil and political rights in Cuba. The opposition tools and strategies are analysed in the context of specific conditions of the current repressive Cuban regime. Special attention is dedicated to framing processes towards the local audience, communication strategies oriented to an international society, and an ability to involve external players to participate in effective pressure from outside; the so called boomerang effect. The movement's progress is displayed on a base of particular achievements as well as challenges faced in a long term pursuit to a democratic transition of the country.

The Bachelor Thesis is focused on identifying economic and political problems of development in the Republic of Cuba. The main objective is to find factors that have negative or positvie influence to the development of the island. The thesis contains substantial historical events that affected development in the entire Cuban Republic, basic and comprehensive characteristics of natural, political, economical and social conditions in Cuba, a current situation due to solving problematics and predictions of further economic and political development. Practical part is consisted of a personal interview with Cuban professor Lic. MSc. Fernando Rodríguez Molina and of a discussion of results of the thesis questionnaire about public opinions on the Republic of Cuba.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the relationship between European Union and Cuba. This study describes development of their relationship and the impact of human rights violations on the island to this relationship. The study discusses USA's attitude toward the Cuban problem and differences in politics beside EU. In the last part, Czech-Cuban relations are investigated especially after a year 1989 and its position within the EU.

The first chapter describes basic information about the country - location, geography and population. The second chapter deals with historical events of Cuba and analysis of their individual economic consequences. The third chapter analyzes the political and social system of Cuba. The fourth chapter sets out the main attributes of the economy today and the relationship to democracy. The last chapter of the thesis tries to predict the possible future development.

The main objective is to present the island to Czech businessmen, exporters and entrepreneurs who are thinking of establishing business relations with this country. This thesis has three parts. The first chapter contains chosen methods for analysis of business environment. The second chapter contains the PEST analysis of business environment of Cuba. And the third part applies of investment climate and possibilities of mutual collaboration.
Czech - Cuban Relations with a Focus on Economic Diplomacy

The thesis focuses on the development of bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Cuba, with a focus on economic diplomacy between these two countries. Czech-Cuban diplomatic relations have gone through a very interesting and unique development. The work is divided into two main parts. The first one summarizes diplomatic and then economic relations before 1989, the second part focuses on the period after the Velvet Revolution. The aim of my work is to determine whether it can be soon expected a significant improvement of mutual Czech-Cuban relations.
