Palladium in the environment
Hajdová, Jana ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
This work is focused on palladium in the environment. Its use is especially in the automobile industry as catalytic converters of motor vehicles, but also is applied in dental, jewelry making and electrical appliances. The release of this metal from automobile catalysts is getting into all environmental compartments (soil, road dust, water, plants), where goes to its accumulation. It can be a part of the food chain and cause health risks to humans. The work also focuses on methods of sampling, preconcentration and methods, which can determined palladium in environmental samples (spectrophotometric methods, AAS, ICP-AES and ICP-MS).
Economic and socio-cultural implications of developing shopping centers in the historical centers
Maleikovich, Aliaksandra ; Lindner, Milan (advisor) ; Kouba, Vojtěch (referee)
The subject of this bachelor work is to analyze the impact of building large shopping centers in the historic core of the cities of Minsk and Prague, as well as to identify the existing problems and to design solutions. The work consists of two parts: the first part is a theoretical one, where theoretical knowledge, serving as a background for the practical part, will be processed with the help of expert sources. The second part is a practical one, it presents a choice of two shopping centers "Palladium" and "Stolitsa" and evaluates the consequences of their erection.
The new nanoparticles in the ultastructural diagnostics
MARTYKÁNOVÁ, Denisa
The aim of this master thesis is to focus on a various methods of the conjugation of palladium nanoparticles of different shapes on the protein. The main point was to use both covalent and non-covalent conjugation of palladium nanoparticles on the protein and to use the functional conjugates to find out their stability in time.
Analysis of performance of investment metals and coins
Kabelková, Zuzana ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Málek, Jiří (referee)
The thesis "Analysis of Performance of Investment Metals and Coins" deals with the evolution of prices of gold, silver, platinum and palladium. It analyzes factors which have an influence on the prices of these metals. It compares profitability and risk of the investment in gold with the index S&P 500. The strength of dependency is measured by coefficient of correlation between the variables gold and silver/ palladium/ platinum/ brent crude oil/ index S&P 500/prices of the mining company Randgold Resources Ltd. The third part of the thesis deals with the means of investing in the investment metals and it compares the advantages and disadvantages of each option.
Efficiency of investment metals and coins analysis
Tůmová, Kateřina ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Stádník, Bohumil (referee)
This project deals with historical precious metals price development as gold, silver, platinum and palladium in connection to analysis of the precious metals investment benefits. There are discussed international market prices and retail prices as well. There is also mentioned the issue of price structure from the premium and other costs point of view, including possible risks coupled with investment. Approximated are also basic terms and forms of investment metals, alternative options of precious metals investment as well. The project also includes the issue of tax investment aspects and other advantages connected to it. Further there is indicated medial disinformation criticism and insufficient legal support for customers investing to the precious metals.
commodity futures on precious metals
Schwartz, Peter ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Paholok, Igor (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to clarify the importance of diversifying investment portfolios with the help of precious metals at the present time and to analyze the fluctuation of precious metals market in terms of demand, supply and price developments. The core of the thesis focuses on analysis of the market of precious metals from 1998 to 2011 The used work method is comparison of precious metals between themselves and the world stock indices, the method of analysis in separate calculations of indicators, the method of deduction from the results of calculations.
Dichotomy in regioselectivity of Pd-catalyzed direct C-H arylation of protected uracils
Čerňová, Miroslava ; Hocek, Michal
Uracil bases and nucleosides bearing aryl groups in positions 5 or 6 are an important class of compounds and display wide range of biological activities1. In addition, arylation in position 5 is often used for labeling of nucleotides, oligonucleotides and DNA for applications in bioanalysis or chemical biology2. The 5- or 6-aryluracils can be prepared by heterocyclization or by cross-coupling reactions of halouracils with arylboronic acids or stannanes or metallated uracils with aryl halides. Direct C–H arylation of uracil is an alternative to classical cross-couplings where the preparation of reactive organometallic reagent is avoided. Recently, we have developed regioselective Pd-catalyzed and/or Cu-mediated direct C–H arylations of 1,3-dimethyluracil as a model compound for pyrimidine bases to position C-5 or C-6 3.
Development of a general and modular approach to C-nucleosides
Kubelka, Tomáš ; Štefko, Martin ; Bárta, Jan ; Joubert, Nicolas ; Urban, Milan ; Chapuis, Hubert Jean ; Hocek, Michal
Highly efficient and modular approach was developed for the synthesis of various types of new (het)aryl C-nucleosides. This protocol consists of the synthesis of haloaryl-C-nucleoside intermediates, followed by a functional group transformation to introduce various substituents. Using this approach protected 2′-deoxy-C-nucleosides bearing halogenated benzene, pyridine, thiophene, furane and pyrimidine were prepared. These intermediates were then submitted to a wide range of palladium-catalyzed reactions. The same approach was also used for preparation of C-nucleosides bearing ribofuranose moiety. Functional ribofuranosides bearing diverse substituted pyridine and benzene nucleobases were prepared in this way.
Recyklace paladia z polymetalických roztoků vznikajících loužením elektrochemického šrotu
Gruber, Václav ; Punčochář, Miroslav
In the present work, the rate of the reduction of divalent palladium with formaldehyde was determined in several inorganic solutions. The effect of temperature and Pd2+ concentration on the reaction rate is discussed, a simple kinetic model of the process is proposed and tested, and its parameters are calculated for specific conditions.
