Ekonomické dopady podpory výroby energie z fotovoltaických článků v České republice

v Abstract The bachelor's thesis focuses on the generation of energy from photovoltaic cells in the Czech Republic and calculation of costs resulting from a support of renewable energy sources. Second part, following a short introduction, contains a brief description of the energy market in the Czech Republic and definitions of renewable energy sources. Third part covers photovoltaic energy in general. It deals with its historical development, technology and potential in the Czech Republic. Fourth part concerns with a legislation and contains a basic overview of the energy legislation of the Czech Republic and the European Union. Fifth part elaborates on the potential of other renewable sources in the Czech Republic and based on expert studies outlines their possible future development. Sixth part comments on the situation of photovoltaics in other states and brings a view of the support of renewable sources in Germany, Spain and Italy. Seventh (analytical) part deals with an analysis and calculations of the costs of the support of individual renewable sources including photovoltaics, cogeneration and secondary resources. The thesis is ended with a conclusion summarising the main results of the work.

Legal Regulations on Renewable Energy Sources Abstract Submitted thesis presents issues of legal regulations on renewable energy sources emphasizing mainly legal regulations concerning electricity generation of alternative sources. This thesis offers a review of international documents and instruments of international law within a scope of the support of renewable energy sources. Regarding the Czech and Slovak Republic as members of European Union, this thesis also concerns an overview of the European legislation as a tool of integration of energetic markets of single member states and setting binding targets on quota of energy produced from renewable energy sources in the EU member states. Based on the set scientific methods, the thesis describes historical development and basic resources used by creation of legal regulations for renewable energy sources. Using comparative method it summarizes and compares legal regulations on the renewable sources of energy as used in Czech and Slovak legal system. The objective of the thesis is to provide a complex overview of the legal regulation on the renewable sources of energy as the part of environmental law and energy law in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Legal regulation of Renewable Energy Sources in the European Union This thesis focuses on the development and current situation of renewable energy sources in a sphere of Energy law. Energy is a key sector in the European Community which becomes increasingly integrated both politically and economically and whose geopolitical responsibilities spread. Renewable energy sources have nowadays a great importance and big volume of legislation highly affects member states of European Union. First Chapter concerns with the development of Renewable Energy policy in European Union. Green and white papers were important among first documents, which laid down the foundation of European Energy law legislation. Kyoto Protocol was significant for European situation with its goal of achieving stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. Second Chapter primarily deals with directive 2001/77/EC and directive 2009/28/EC. The directives aim to give a boost to stepping up the contribution of renewable energy sources while respects the principles of the internal market. The subject matter of the diploma thesis is to focus of natural resources of the Czech Republic and Ireland. Firstly, the renewable and non-renewable resources of both countries are mentioned, the politics and approaches are presented. Also the problems of (in) exhaustibility and environmental impacts are discussed. The aim is choose one commodity, based on outcome of multicriterial method used, and focus on this one commodity only, as the topic is very broad. The author analyses and compares the best alternative given for each country and also altogether. Subsequently, the topic is shortened on energy politics of alternative resources only. Lastly the author focuses on problematic of biomass, deals with the market in both countries, compares the options of individual alternative resource and gives conclusion and recommendation to both countries. Finally the future of alternative resources is presented and discussed.

Energy policy of the European Union and the success of its performance between 2010 and 2015

This bachelor thesis explores the history of energy policies since the Second World War and the success of its performance from years 2010 to 2015. The first part of this bechalor thesis explores the history and development of energy policy and the various communities during the previous six decades. The second part of this thesis contains an analysis of the economic situation in Europe and in main states in the field of energy resources, evaluation the reasons for planning Energy Union and analysis of success EU energy policies in the period 2010-2015 on the basis of three main energy documents: Europe 2020, Energy 2020 and Energy infrastructure priorities for 2020 and beyond: A Blueprint for an integrated European energy network. The main objective was to determine whether the objectives of these documents are still actually achievable from 2016 perspective. The thesis concludes that the majority of the three main energy documents fulfill the goals despite the EU energy policy, understood in a broader context than just these three documents, is definitely not in a perfect condition. The evidence is even the necessity to prepare a new Energy Union.
Contradictions in Russian-European Energy Relations: the EU and Gazprom

The bachelor thesis focuses on the evaluation of Energy Relations between the European Union and Russian gas company Gazprom. The main objective is to examine common interests of the parties and causes of their conflicts. The first chapter is dedicated to the historical development of Gazprom and evaluation of its position on domestic and European markets. The chapter also provides information on the main pipelines connecting Europe and Russia, as well as on the european underground gas storage facilities utilized by Gazprom. The second chapter focuses on the legal and institutional aspects of relations between the EU and Russia and their approaches to the energy policy. With regard to the gathered information, the third chapter is devoted to the contradictions in relations between the EU and the Russian company, including lawsuits filed by the European energy companies against Gazprom and an antitrust investigation initiated by the European Commission in 2012.
EU Energy Security and Relations with Russia

The main objective of this dissertation is to research the interconnectivity of energy security of the European Union and its relations with Russia. Achieving this goal entails an analysis of the current situation in the EU energy security in the context of its import dependence on Russian energy sources and an outline of the future development of strategic partnership between the EU and Russia in the energy field. The dissertation is divided into five logically arranged chapters. The first chapter provides the theoretical background, the concept of the energy security and methodological researching tools. The second chapter provides an overview of the current state of the global and the European energy industries as a basis for the evaluation of the energy security. The second chapter is also focused on the EU legislative framework concerning energy system. The third chapter deals with analysis of the energy security of the individual sectors and levels of the energy system by determining risk factors and measures to limit their impact. The fourth chapter examines the energy sector of Russia in terms of its impact on the EU energy security. The final fifth chapter outlines scenarios for the future of the EU energy security in the context of relations with Russia.
Germany's EU policy

The bachelor thesis deals with Germany's EU-policy focusing on the current Cabinet led by Angela Merkel. The determinants of the German EU-policy, in particular the historical role of the Federal Republic of Germany in the European integration process, the position and representation of Germany in the institutions of the EU and the institutional architecture of the EU-agenda in Germany, are briefly mentioned. Moreover, research is done on the general features of the current EU-policy, its legitimacy and three selected current topics -- the German policy in crisis, the German role in the current EU-multiannual financial framework negotiations and the German energy policy towards the EU.
Energy security in the South Caucasus region (Armenia as security challenge)

The thesis deals with the issue of energy security in geopolitically strategic region of South Caucasus. The focus is on analyzing the development of energy policy in the individual countries of the region since the collapse of the Soviet union. On this basis is determined the most important security challenge: Armenia. This challenge results from the need to counteract the influence of external actors in the region and to address long-standing regional conflicts that would contribute not only to the stability of the South Caucasus, but also help to fully realize the potential of the region as an important transit corridor for Caspian and Iranian energy resources.
