Gait disorders in Patients with Parkinson's disease
Bulová, Hana ; Zárubová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Valouchová, Petra (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with problems of the Parkinson's disease (PD). It is an incurable neurodegenerative disorder which is caused by degeneration of pigment cells producing dopamine in the substantia nigra. The lack of dopamine impairs regulating activities of the basal ganglia. That leads to manifestation of the typical symptoms of PD. Knowledge survey briefly describes symptoms, diagnostics and treatment for this disease. This paper focuses on neurolocomotor process, movement control and especially gait disorders which occurs in patients with Parkinson's disease. Problems with walking develops subsequently, progressively limiting patients in their daily activities. Because current medications providing little relieve, physiotherapy plays an important role in ameliorating these symptoms. This thesis describes various physiotherapeutic approaches. It emphasizes necessity of regular exercising which is absolutely essential to slow the progression of the disease and its debilitating effects. Practical part of this work focuses on the efficacy of the therapy on one patient. This man has the typical PD symptoms and freezing and hesitation often happens to him. He has no cognitive deficit which may hinder his ability to cooperate with therapist. This part also evaluate impact of the therapy based patient's...

Apaches in 18th century. Reconstruction of the material culture and its origins
Parolková, Klára ; Korecká, Zuzana (referee) ; Kašpar, Oldřich (advisor)
I during sources SUMMARY focuse on material culture 18 th century and first half used for reconstruction are of western Apache tribes of 19th century. Primary letters, relationes and other writing of then missionaries and soldiers. Written sources are supported by few pictures taken by 18th and early 19th century artists. Missing data are covered by moder ethnographical and linguistical research. Not all the topics are mentioned with the same frequency in primary sources. Most detailed description exists for appearance and clothing for both men and women. Almost every author writes about their nomadic life, diet and horse riding. Exact date and route of Apachean migration southward is not known, but their way of life was shurely influenst by climate change after coming to present day area. Trading and other contacts with neighbouring tribes were important source of cuI tural change. Peublos influence was most important, because part of this tribe joined Navajo short befor 1700 AD and teached them art of weaving, making fine pottery and silver jewellery. Apache obtained european goods by trading, as gifts accompanying peace negociations or simply stole them (horses were their favorite target). Spaniards were exchanging good for furs, bufalo hides and buskskin, take them back home. Apaches frequently also for...

The therapeutical effect of rTMS on symptomatology in schizophrenia
Baláková, Lucie ; Horáček, Jiří (advisor) ; Rokyta, Richard (referee) ; Anders, Martin (referee)
The RTMS is a new noninvasive method has the potential to both therapeutic and experimental level. The research presented in this work was dedicated to the application of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in psychiatry. We focused also on a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of action using methods of functional imaging methods and sensing electrical activity of the brain. The experimental part of the research include the testing of cognitive function and their potential effects by stimulating the cerebral cortex district, which is regarded as the seat of that particular modality. We discuss neurobiological factors that may explain the ineffectiveness of therapy and other options are designed to test the use of rTMS in this indication. This is the Reversible stimulation (right) or bilateral stimulation, rTMS targeting the coil at the bottom of the parietal cortex, extending the total period of stimulation and the use of individual navigation based on EEG or functional imaging.

Calcium homeostasis and modulation of nociceptive synaptic transmission
Sojka, David ; Paleček, Jiří (advisor) ; Žurmanová, Jitka (referee) ; Krůšek, Jan (referee)
2 SUMMARY OF THE THESIS This study was designed to improve our knowledge regarding mechanisms of nociceptive signaling at spinal cord level. One of the forms of spinal cord synaptic transmission modulation is central sensitization, a manifestation of synaptic plasticity at spinal cord level, which was found to be present at many chronic pain syndromes. This study deals mainly with a development of calcium imaging technique with a final goal to study mechanisms of central sensitization in vitro on population of dorsal horn neurons. We have analyzed synaptically evoked intracellular Ca changes as a result of dorsal root stimulation in a superficial dorsal horn area in spinal cord slices and found two types of Ca responses: one synchronized with electrical stimulation and a second one, delayed response due to Ca release from internal stores. The delayed Ca release was not previously shown to be present in these neurons and it was not dependent on activation of ionotropic glutamatergic receptors, suggesting involvement of metabotropic receptor pathway. The presence of this delayed type of Ca response could have a significant role in the induction of some types of chronic pain syndromes since intracellular calcium increase is thought to be a key trigger point in spinal cord neurons sensitization. An important...

Existential Traumas and Possibilities for Solutions
Císařová, Dagmar ; Titzl, Boris (advisor) ; Zemková, Jaroslava (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on one of the most difficult factors of human life: facing a fatal situation, such as a personal loss and/or serious psychic problems. These situations fall into category of existential trauma. Firstly, the thesis deals with the existential trauma from a theoretical point of view. Examples of different types of crises and appropriate therapies are given. Most of them are well-known and documented, therefore more space have been given to two not such widespread approaches. Namely, The In-depth Aberactive Psychotherapy and The Return along the Trace of Time. The second part of the thesis is practical, consisting of five case studies. In the form of dialogue, the trauma of individual persons is introduced, followed by the description of particular solutions. First two clients have not undergone any therapy, the second two have solved their situation with the help of the two methods mentioned above. The last chapter of the thesis contains the comparison, summary and evaluation of all cases.

Traction Drives with Asynchronous Motors
Běloušek, Josef ; Skala, Bohumil (referee) ; Richter, Aleš (referee) ; Patočka, Miroslav (advisor)
The first part of this work is devoted to the design of a traction asynchronous motor. The second part focuses on the developed method of the equivalent circuit parameters identification of the asynchronous motor in the form of -network. It is explained here that the equivalent circuit in the shape of a -network, alternatively of an inverse 'I-network, is exactly equivalent and fully-fledged to a T-network, although one of two stray inductances is formally missing. Furthermore, the relationships for the conversions of the T-network parameters to the -network parameters and back, and of the T-network to the inverse 'I-network and back are found. The third part deals with the calculation of the torque and the current characteristics of the asynchronous motor. A sensitive analysis of the torque characteristic is carried out on the individual parameters of the equivalent circuit of the asynchronous motor in the form of a -network and a method of the measurement by means of a flywheel is used for the torque characteristic measurement of the asynchronous motor. The fourth part focuses on the verification of the identified -network parameters in the Matlab-model of the traction drive.

The effect of physiotherapy on cardio-respiratory parameters in patients with chronic heart failure indicated for cardiac surgery intervention
MELECHOVÁ, Dominika
The bachelor thesis deals with the preoperative physiotherapy in patients with chronic heart failure who are indicated for cardiac surgery intervention and with the description of physiotherapy procedures utilized before and after the operation. The cardiovascular disease is in developed countries still the main cause of morbidity and mortality. (UNIFY, 2008) The improved treatment of acute conditions allows so that more patients reached a stage of the chronic heart failure. (Špinar, Vítovec, Hradec, 2012) The chronic heart failure is a sign for a number of symptoms that are caused by disruption of the heart work. It is a disorder in which despite adequate ventricular filling drops a cardiac output and the heart is unable to cover metabolic needs of the tissues (supply of oxygen and nutrients and removing of carbon dioxide and metabolic waste products). (Štejfa a kol., 2007) In the theoretical part is described the anatomy of the heart, the physiology of the heart and the blood circulation, the chronic heart failure, the response and the adaptation of the organism to physical load, the cardiovascular rehabilitation and physiotherapy procedures carried out before and after the operation. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is performed by method of the qualitative research with the using techniques: the anamnesis, the kinesiology analysis and the data analysis. The research set was formed by 2 patients of the cardiac surgery department of Hospital České Budějovice a. s. who were indicated for cardiac surgery intervention. The total time of the research was 4 weeks. The first purpose of this thesis was chart the effect of the preoperative physiotherapy on cardio-respiratory parameters and the condition of the patient. The second purpose was describe physiotherapy procedures carried out before and after the operation. I chose 2 research questions for the research: 1. What effect has the preoperative physiotherapy on cardio-respiratory parameters in patients with the chronic heart failure? 2. What are possibilities of physiotherapy procedures before and after the operation? The preoperative physiotherapy was carried out 5 times a week for 1 month in the home of the patient. It included a physical therapy, a respiratory physiotherapy and relaxation methods. Selected cardio-respiratory parameters were taken before and after each training unit. Results of therapy are processed through case studies. The component of the bachelor thesis is also a list of references, key words and abbreviations. Next it includes image attachments and graphs. The thesis can be a benefit for physiotherapists, general and professional public and for possible further research in this issue.
